I used a thin tip black sharpie to mark my 1/4 & 1/2" marks. 3/8th Dow rods on the bottom side grooves not only make it stronger but it will float. Tight lines and love your videos , your very positive and easy to listen to

Lots of great info right there. I am a big fan of the catch, photo, and release format. The technology is readily available to implement this in all tournaments.

Thanks SO much for this video. I have fished surf fishing tournaments in the past and I am excited to get my first kayak soon for my 50th birthday. After I put some time into fishing on it, I am DEFINETLY going to start in on the local scene here in Delaware.

Thank you for putting out information like this. I’ve just started not just kayaking but kayak fishing around 2 months ago. I jumped head first into it and fished my first tournament at the end of June with North Alabama Kayak Anglers. I was lucky enough to find ppl involved to bombard with questions. I had a slow start but absolutely fell in love with it. I have another tournament next month but have it in my head to try my hand at the KBF or another more structured series. I have a lot to learn and things to purchase before but it’s gonna happen. Keep doing what you do . Thanks

    Kristine,
I like all of your tips, especially the phone one. I have been nerved the past couple of years when on the water either shore fishing or in a boat. I like to document my catches to share with my fishy friends and have felt like you said it was a matter of time before i dropped my phone. What retention system do you use. I would have liked it if you showed it. A couple of videos including yours have referred to using a retention system but I was lost as to what that really means and what works. I can google or do an Amazon search but I am not sure what works. I don’t want to buy something and find out the hard way it does not work. One video stated the dry bags do not allow you to take a good enough picture in spite of their claim otherwise and you wind up taking the phone out of the bag anyway.

      Bungalobob,
I assume you got the Protector? I read several reviews re this style of tether device, some were mixed. I went with the Phone Lasso. If anyone buys this, attach the pad to the phone not the case. You get two pads per. I am on my second week with it and like it so far. I suspect it will be good for one season then wear out. For $15 cheap insurance for an expensive item. Bungalobob please keep us updated on how the Protector works for you over time.
