@@DodongoManoof Wait, 'they probably did'? That's not consistent with what you said next so I'll assume you meant they 'probably didn't' take that tone. Which is my point. This is all about perspective when it shouldn't be. To be morally and logically consistent we must put aside our opinions on what is innocent or how we feel the situations are 'a bit different'. A pro-gun person could say a tiny amount of bullets in the same way you said a tiny amount of marijuana. There's no distinction. The law in that country is the law. So how are they different from a moral and legal perspective? To reply to your condescending question if your comment helped, it did not.

I grew up in a relatively rural area. It was not unusual to find a shotgun shell or a 22lr round in a box of hardware in somebody's garage or shed. Just mixed in with a drawer of screws or nails. Ammo is out on the shelves of hardware stores or gas stations. I understand why someone who grew up in a state or country where ammunition is restricted might think it's weird to miss a few rounds cleaning out a backpack. But it's not that unusual here.

husband is an irresponsible gun owner. firstly you have a specific bag/case that you use to transport your firearm and anything else firearm related rather than using the bag for multiple purposes. second idiot mistake was not emptying out the bag before putting things in it. a sensible person would double check to make sure no ammo fell out into the bag or forgot ammo in the smaller pockets. should have been responsible enough to double check the bag knowing that it previously had guns and ammo in it and that you are taking that bag through a high security point of entry. ignorance and lack of taking responsibility is not an excuse and would not be accepted in my country.
