There is no light bleed with my LNER Azuma Class 800. I have talked to some folks that have the problem and it looks like its related to them running on DCC. Not sure if its a decoder problem or something with the Hornby electronics, but DCC typically runs at 16V, while DC is usually 12V on these controllers. My Duette has the Azuma running at pretty fast speeds at around 60-70% power. I removed the power car, and maxed out the Duette, no light bleed. One of the folks who has the light bleed issue on DCC tested theirs on DC and they estimated it was about 30% dimmer on DC. So looks like a decoder or Hornby electronics problem, probably needs more resistance at 16V to keep the lights in spec.

It certainly goes around with a swish! Good job you've got a large layout on which to run it. We will have to see how well it does after being on the layout for a while! Thanks for uploading.

Its a really nice model. No issues so far, will do some videos with it and the GWR 800 over the weekend if I have time, so should hit the channel early next week. Hope you enjoyed the video!

It seems very smooth running it glides along the track. The livery is good too
I wish hornby would use metal pantographs I don’t like the plastic ones

Yes its very noticeably smooth like its gliding on the track. I have plans to make working OHLE so metal pantographs would be great, but I do have a decent collection of old Hornby Class 86s and Lima Class 87s to pull that off! :)

LOL. So far it seems to be worth the wait. Although it looks like I've lost the interior lighting on Coach C, so another Hornby "modeling opportunity" for me to chase down..
