Yeah sure I recommend. It's a great all-around style of amp for blues and clean tones. To get the Knopfler sound, I think it's more down to how you play the guitar, not the gear. But one thing is certain: Mk used a compression pedal that helps a little.
Yes, great cover! Very authentic! You're an expert of Mark's style! I think it's one of the few songs Knopfler choose just the neck PU for. Now I'll pretend to be an expert (3 years ago): A few passages sounded out of tune. Pushed too hard? And while fading in the volume. But I know you've considered re-recording it. It wouldn't have been a problem for you. In a direct comparison, Knopfler has better timing than you, he places the notes more precisely. With a rhythmic exercise you could achieve that no one knows who is playing! You're so close now! That's my assessment.

Thanks and you are right! My main idea was back then (and still is) to record myself so I can learn from my mistakes, because im self taught. And looking back at this I feel I’ve made some progress..

But these days I’m more interested all kinds of guitar music. Back then it was MK songs all the time and I think it didn’t improve my playing actually that much.
Could you do a tutorial on the rhythm part where he makes that little pop before he goes right back into d minor? I have tried to figure that out for years and it drives me crazy.

@ its that little pop at 0:40 and 0:45 if you could tell me the notes and string I could figure it out. It happens so fast I can't for the life of me catch it lol. I know its an F chord transitioning in to Dm. Thank you and what an excellent job on the song!

@@mgw4205 yeah I know it seems tricky but it’s just 3-2-0 on a D-string. But in Knopfler songs it’s always a matter how you play it with your right hand. I just made a shitty how to play -video about this song, since so many people has asked me to do. Check it out soon.
