flying a drone in Switzerland is amazing
the shots you can get are just like out flying a drone in Switzerland is amazing
the shots you can get are just like out drone as it is in Switzerland it's just
it's so good really and today I'm gonna go try to get some good shots here I'm
gonna go uh up to this Ridge with my split board here
and fly the Drone a little bit so a split board is a snowboard that breaks
in half making two skis so you take the split board is a snowboard that breaks
in half making two skis so you take the once the bindings are off you can just
break it right in half there's this fur on the bottom this gives you traction
when going uphill and then when you come down you take it off put it in your
backpack you mount your bindings back on like so
and you have a pair of skis to ski up swiss drone regulations have been quite
relaxed making it very easy to film here however this is all starting to change
at the beginning of 2023 Switzerland adopted the EU drone regulations and
this makes everything a little bit more complicated So today we're going to talk
about those regulations but I've got my snowboarding put back into the
snowboarding mode here so I'm going to ride down I'm looking forward to that
and then we're going to go over these regulations in a nice warm house instead
of sitting out here in the freezing cold the EU breaks drones down into three
categories but the vast majority of like your prosumer DJI whatever drones are
going to fit into your open category So today we're going to be focusing on that
this category won't be covering like predator drones so if you're like the
CIA watching this isn't going to be super helpful not that you care also all
of my information comes from the B A ZL Point admin Point seahaw website I'm not
a drone expert I'm not a Swiss law expert I'm just an American making
videos so it's probably a good idea that you go look over those laws for yourself
I will link that website in the description below alright now let's move
on to the actual regulations it important to note that Switzerland head
regulations before they adopted the EU regulations and the regulations they had
before are still in place they've just added the EU regulations on top of them
so if you've been flying in Switzerland already you've probably already know the
previous regulations but let's do a little bit of a refresher the first big
one is going to be don't fly in restricted areas

You could try using Google translate on your phone to scan the page. Maybe that would work.

How bad is the drone situation in Switzerland? I'm worried every place I go is going to be ruined by people flying them. (Yes, I get everyone here probably doesn't care, so save that comment.)

@@HFH-Official I did it through Slovenias civilian aviation authority a few months back when I visited the country, from I was told by them if you register in any EU country it will carry over to the other countries within the union. They have an English website and it was very easy to navigate/register
The exam itself was free but you have to pay for drone operators license which is about 30 euros

@brizzle3903 Wait, so if I have a Mini I don't have to go through all nonsense? The reason why Im confused is because Switzerland isn't part of the EU, so how does the registration from an EU country is valid in Switzerland???

@@HFH-Official I need to correct myself they’re not an EU member but they adopted similar policies from the EU regarding drones, sorry about that confusion
In all honesty if you have a drone under 249grams you should be fine to fly it, it’s the larger heavier drones they get really antsy about
