Hi, I have the model with the allen key blade change. Can you tell me if your jigsaw blade sits 'straight'? Or does it angle backwards slightly, in respect of the cutting direction. Thanks 👍
You might need something bigger and badder Mr Undertaker. Here is a selection of available Recip Saws at Toolstop with suitable blades too. www.toolstop.co.uk/search/?q=reciprocating%20saw
I know the DJR183 and 185 have different blade locking mechanisms. I am not sure of the difference between the DJR181 and 182, they are slightly bigger 18V Makita recip saws that look similar.
This is a weak 18v saw. If you want a one-handed saw, go with the Milwaukee M18 Hackzall. You won't be disappointed. This is only as powerful as Milwaukee M12 Hackzall.
I came to the same conclusion. Overall balance of it is good, and the second trigger is a welcome addition, hopefully they can solve the power issues with a brushless motor or something.
PrimeMechCo fs, that's so disappointing to hear. I need a recip at work for cutting out dry lined boxes where there's ply behind. I'm already invested in makita so was hoping this would be half decent. What type of work was you using it for + have you got the bigger model?
NeRo Kozi well, it can do it but just don't expect a quick job. you can't push this model because it stalls quite easily. that's why I decided to use the milwaukee hackzall, its a much better tool.

Hi,
can I use 5Ah or 6Ah battery on the DJR183?
Looking cool I might have to get one could with more extensive review can't find one on RUclips though any ideas anyone?
Would this be good for cutting 3/4 inch EMT all day?

This saw is great for small spaces. I use makita and hilti tools they are the best
+GiantBuilders i saw a thing on instagram that said Makita make some tools for hilti.
Would this last for...let say 20years?
...buy one and report back in 20 years.
Hows it going 2 years on?

PrimeMechCo have you owned the makita?
Yes I do, it currently sits in my garage. I don't bother using it. I was disappointed with this purchase.
