    His coaching style is all about conditioning the body, stick handling and passing. No fancy shmancy drills, just 1 knee, both knees, getting up fast, tight turns, three turns, 360s... all of the skills you actually need in a game.

    Any of the old farts out there who say "hockey players were better in the 80s and 90s" needs to watch this.
    Today's players are clearly better trained, and as a result are faster, stronger and more skilled. I'm not saying that a player from the 80s or 90s couldn't do this, rather simply that they did not have this level of skill development in the sport at the time.

    • @internetuser8371
      @internetuser8371 5 лет назад +2

      it's more of a "hockey was better in the 80s and 90s" its pretty obvious that players in general are so much better, just look at highlights from that time period when players would take slapshots, and the goalies would react so slow or just stand there and do nothing, it made gretzky lemieux, etc, look so much better than everyone else. yeah they were all stars but playing against a goalie who barely reacts when you shoot the puck is just ridiculous.

      @@internetuser8371 I agree 100%, stuff was zany back then and in many regards a helluva lot more entertaining (like the brawls). Today, the zany stuff is how incredible a move may be or the level of speed. But there are old-timers who can't seem to figure that out and make that distinction.

      @ja maguire LOL, you should never EVER watch a European game then. You'll have a seizure. It's 1000 times worse.

    • @TheWitchOvAgnesi
      @TheWitchOvAgnesi 5 лет назад +1

      @ja maguire In all honesty, I no longer watch any NHL games for that very reason. It's become a corporate enterprise that could give a fuck less about the players or about the fans for that matter. I'd much rather watch college or semi-pro level where players are playing for the love of the sport. Most of them at least.

      Vid just popped up today...I don't know who says that. All old timers I talk to know the players are on another level. I do say tho watching the games back in the 90s-2000s the players were tougher but you had instigators and enforcers. Games now are all crazy speed and excellent shooting. There's barely any contact anymore. I think this is what some of the old timers you talk to miss about the game really

      Юрий, вы не учитель случайно? Вашей логике уже начали придерживаться многие школы РФ, детей учат не высшей матиматике, а хитрости. Хитрость в жизни точно всем пригодится, а вот высшая математика только немногим.
