  • We returned to the Rioja region. This time to the Roman Calagurris Nassica Iulia , currently known as Calahorra. We enjoy the vegetables days celebration and do a tour of the trails that reveal the next orchards.
We are surprised to discover a museum of vegetables, unique in Spain, where they explain the history of this town that the industrial revolution was launched to be one of the main producers of preserves.
During the conference the entrance to all museums is free.
We also visited the bird sanctuary of La Degollada, where a system of lagoons hosts a good variety of birds.
Near the lagoon are the remains of an ancient Roman dam, which already at that time wanted to ensure the irrigation of this rich orchard.
Romanization Museum explains the whole story, from Roman times to today, having in common vegetables and wine production.
but the highlight for the palate and rich tapas are preparing a total of 22 bars and restaurants to these days, a whole miniature haute cuisine to satisfy the most discerning palates.
