Hey Mike, in the process of setting mine up, LM30. It's on concrete so I'm putting 12" I beams under it to get it up where it belongs. Your videos have been VERY helpful!! Keep up the good work, my learning curve won't be as steep as it could have been thanks to you. Thanks so much!😎👍👍
Thank you. So glad I could help ease the pain a bit for you. Sounds like you are going to have a good solid place for your mill. That right there is going to make for a bit less worry. Should stay good and squared. 👍 Thanks for watching.
I just found your channel (and subscribed), thanks for the unbiased info on Norwood. I am waiting for mine to be shipped any day now. I was searching for Norwood owners that were not affiliated with Norwood so that I could get a true idea of what to expect when my mill arrives; there are surprisingly very few on Utube. I appreciate that you give all of the details (even your screw-ups). I will continue to follow your journey and hopefully learn some lessons through you so that I don't have to learn the hard way.
Hello from out on the mountain! Thank you for your comment and for subscribing. I am so glad to be of some help and plan to share all my experiences good or bad along the journey of being a Sawyer. I promise to be truthful about the things I talk about. That is important to me for sure. Take care.
Hey buddy how are ya? Oh man I’m glad yer all better being sick sucks!!!! That’s some beautiful looking cedar!! What ever you build with it I’m sure is gonna look really nice. My wife saw how nice the boards look coming off the mill now she wants lots of rustic live edge shelf units for the house. I think she is sold on the new mill!! Have a blessed and very merry Christmas buddy. It’s good to see ya making sawdust!!!!
Hello bud! Thank you. LOL My wife can't wait for me to make her something out of the live edge stuff. I think she too is sold on the mill. I hope you are making lots of sawdust and I hope you and yours have a very Merry Christmas. Take care.
Man, that cedar is PURDY! Glad that you're feeling better. I think it's my turn to be down now, ha. You were wanting pictures of us putting our LM30 together, and I promise I will send you some. I was cutting some 30" Sweet Gum trees down to clear up where the mill is going to be and ended up tearing up my shoulder while bucking the logs. No big deal, just didn't want my chainsaw to fall the 6 feet to the ground. I'm going to have surgery in Jan. Doc says I'll be right as rain within about 4 months, cut can run the tractor and loader in 3 weeks. So, for the next bit, I'll just have to enjoy watching your mill run. Keep em coming. Quick observation, have you thought about using some kind of jack to raise your logs on the short end? You have an awesome deck under your mill, would a blocked up scissor jack give you more precise adjustment? Just trying to get your opinion before we set ours up.
Oh no! So sorry to hear about your shoulder. I also have to be careful of my shoulder. I blew it out years ago and it lets me know when I have overdone it. Get well soon!...As far as raising the logs I have thought about a jack and planned to do just that in the near future. Great minds think alike? lol The only issue I have is the sawmill bed sits low to the deck so the scissor jack would work great! Thank you so much for the suggestion and comments. Take care.
As far as the pics go. I would love to have any that you could send. Maybe of you and the the tree that got your shoulder, or you standing by the boxes of sawmill parts. Any kind of Sawyer activity would be great. Plan to do the video after the first of the year.
@@MountainMike01 I actually sent the drone up today, but the lense was smudged and the pictures weren't as good as I'd hoped. I'll email you some of the tree and the saw I was rushing to catch. It may be tomorrow though.
Excellent video! I love the wood color... the opening of your video was awesome too! Keep up the good work. 👍
Thank you very much!

Love the grain in cedar, one of my top three favorite woods! Looks like your well on your way with the mill. Keep on sawing!

Hey Mike! Sorry to hear about your buddy and your health. Glad to see you up and running with the mill. That cedar sure is pretty wood.
Thank you. Hopefully things get back to normal now. I can't wait to make something out of that wood!
