And Jackie moved from London away from here book shop friends to work in a hospital, met her future husband in a mental asylum and returned to London. One day mannie will walk past her in the street and she will run for her life
Mark Heap is a British National Treasure. " Green Wing" is surely the very best British Channel Four sitcom EVER! Best written and best acted and weirdest bunch of misfits ever assembled under a hospital roof. It has never been surpassed in my opinion. Thanks for reminding me to go watch the whole thing again.
My green Wing dvd's are a prized possesion. I wonder if the casting team had any idea that Mr Heap would do such a great job of bringing this character to life. Pippa also, I think, made a wonderful contribution. Just to add, of course all the cast were brilliant!
Green Wing never gets old. Mark Heap is a comedy genius! And Olivia Coleman deserves an Oscar for keeping a straight face when he played that recorder in his pants!!
This series was the best ever comedy series, the actors, the production, the tempo, timing and the music, everything just clicked into place to make it perfect. Had to collect all of the series and it as funny now as it was then!
Every scene that he's in, whether it's the Green Wing or Spaced or Friday Night Dinner, he always steals the show. Such a chaotic and intense and an energetic force. Brilliant and underrated actor
Mark Heap played Dr. Statham so well, every inflection, every little look, he fleshed that character out into a hilariously uptight and strange persona. Green Wing has stood the test of time- still funny as heck.
That bit of the clip with him in his underwear and recorder had me in bloody stitches. Laughing so much my ribs hurt, my nose dribbled & my eyes wept. Fabulous. Going to watch it again 😎🤘😀😆
My wife and I just finished watching all episodes of this comedy, surely one of the best . Mark Heap was absolutely brilliant in every episode, I'm shocked he was never recognised for this role as he was that good. Let's get them all back together for another series????
This and peep show are the best British comedies. The recorder scene makes me spit me tea out. I would crawl over broken glass for Joanna too. Friday night dinner went from excellent first series to execrable last series.
God I loved GREEN WING brilliant, this bloke such a genius comedy actor, the caps because all comments are about fnd and its GREEN WING, upsets my OCD lol
gan9e :) He was also Robert Greene in Upstart Crow and I had to do a double take on this he was also in series 2 of The Team, a European thriller, playing it very straight
I just binge watched Spaced, seeing Mark playing so different a character is weird. Although I also loved Green Wing. Mark is a fantastic comedy actor.
Currently watching the entire series of Spaced with my kids. Watched it all initially with my son, then my daughter caught the tail end of the second series, loved it. Now I'm watching the whole series again with my daughter haha! I have watched it all so many times that I'm constantly fighting the urge to shout out random lines of dialogue (word for word of course!) Spaced is definitely THE greatest British sitcom of the last 30+ years!
What an amazing show legendary performance by Mark heap his performance I've Dr Statham is one of best things I have ever seen one of my favourite comedy characters of all time
I think about how Dr Alan and Blackadder sound similar, a very intelligent way. It makes me think that when Mark Heap plays Jim and Rowan Atkinson plays Mr Bean that it is a more silly version of them.
Hello Jackie
Shalom 😂
‘Do you mind if i use your loo?’
Do all Jewish people take baths outside?
Something smells nice!
Dollops.
Such an underrated comedic actor, Spaced, Stressed Eric, Big Train, Green Wing, etc. The man is a legend.
How could you not mention Friday Night Dinner you heathen???

It’s fun to think that working here drove this man mad. So he changed his name moved away and bought a dog.
And Jackie moved from London away from here book shop friends to work in a hospital, met her future husband in a mental asylum and returned to London. One day mannie will walk past her in the street and she will run for her life
I was just thinking the same thing. I think it's exactly what happened.
You know Friday night dinner is still going infact series 6 is being aired at the moment so what's point of the comment
What? They were making a joke about Mark Heap playing this guy and Jim. They didn't say anything about Friday Night Dinner being over

WhiteWolf496 - I have only recently started watching Green Wing on 4OD but haven't seen this clip yet. Made me chuckle anyway.
How many takes because someone laughed.
Mark Heap is a comedy legend. So quirky, scary & frighteningly funny.
Ahhh so this is where Jim works

@Josh Thorp Mark Heap’s character in Friday Night Dinner

100% Agreed 😁👍
I agree. Mark Heap’s performance was genius
The best channel four thing in my opinion is either Friday night dinner or the inbetweeners
@@freddieh6 Yeah, " The Inbetweeners" is brilliantly funny.
I've never watched the other, although Mark Heap is in it, but I will eventually.

Their is a strange Basil Fawlty-ish thing going on with him, something quite unique, yet familiar. Brilliant.
yessssss
Yes, well put.
Finally started watching Skins and he played Chris's dad and I just could not take him seriously after watching Friday Night Dinner. 😂
That's the strange thing is that it's difficult to view him as a semi bad guy
Jokes on you mate as Skins is old
He does still have a tint of Jim in the voice
It's almost like it's the same actor or something
You mean Jim has a tint of Statham!
Loved Green Wing when I saw it, really funny and very tight acting, no surprise so many of the cast went on to have very successful careers.

I would say that's exactly what his character would do 😀

He's also an artist.
