Nice review as always. To clarify, Avatar UR (ultraresin) comes with metal section (slippery) and a lusciously smooth stainless steel nib - $168. The Avatar UR deluxe comes with a UR section and gold nib $250-350 depending on site visited. Pineider hasn’t yet given us option of the regular Avatar UR with a UR section

I have the Avatar Twin Tank Touchdown with a Quill nib. While it is a bit thin for me, it is a pleasure to use. It does have the metal section but it is not slippery. Love the pen.

I have this pen. I really like the reverse writing, but the feedback for normal writing isn’t my favorite. I also find that it doesn’t really flex as much as it puts down more ink when you apply pressure, which doesn’t really provide line variation. I consider it a soft nib rather than a flex nib. Like others mentioned, the build quality also leaves something to be desired. On my pen, the section spins because it isn’t glued down properly. I got my pen on sale, so I can’t complain too much but I would have been really disappointed if I paid full price (~$300 usd).

Great review as always but I´m not sure if you get the goldnib for 145€ I think in that case the price is significantly more..

Enjoyed the review. BUT, online research shows that at the price mentioned, the nib material is steel, not 14K gold. Also, the sites where I found the pen, even with the steel nib, only offered EF, F, or Medium nib sizes. I'll check back later to find out where the 14K nib, "Quill" is available for approx. $155.00 USD. Thank you for the review.

Indeed, I found the same - can't see where one can get am Avatar with a 14K nib Quill etc at all.

Very nice. Love Dante's designs. But I can't justify the price.

    Mate, surely it’s pronounced Pin-eyeder not Pin-eh-der?
For super reverse writing, try a 3776 with a Music nib- grouse.

His pronunciation is correct. It's not an easy word to pronounce.

@@paolopellegatti5686 Possibly but I’ve always heard it pronounced Pin-eye-der . Still doesn’t sound right to my ears.

@@MrAndrew1953 To hear it pronounced properly, listen to Appelboom Top 3 Pens of Dante del Vecchio, at roughly 12:30 Pin-eye-der

The build quality on my two Avatars is not good. The grip on one is slick metal, on the other is rubber which has loosened over time. Two different vendors used a bait and switch in advertising the Quill flex nib but sending a stainless F. I could not later access the original online advertising, and both vendors--famous online companies with generally great customer service--- refused to make any adjustments.
