    There are WAY too many people in the comments saying that this combo doesn't work - I know it's not the most intuitive card text, but please read the official rules before making yourself look silly:
    Q: My Wellspring Mask Ogerpon ex has a Sparkling Crystal attached and only one Double Turbo Energy on it. If I use its "Torrential Pump" attack, can I shuffle the Double Turbo Energy back into the deck and do damage to a benched Pokemon?
    A: Yes, this is a case of doing as much as you can. You would get to do the bench damage even though you can't detach 3 energy, but you must shuffle in SOME energy in order to get the bonus. You shuffle the two energy that are attached back into the deck, and do 80 to the active and 100 to the bench (remember, damage is still reduced for the DTE since the detachment happens after damage is done).

    This is actually a very well made video! I have been wanting to break down a lot of techs and line of play to my friends to teach and improve them on how to play the game, but sometimes I feel like teaching a whole deck after another is too much / exhaustive and sometimes it gets repetitive. A specific combo guide that explains the core mechanic that can be applied to a whole bunch of decks and scenarios like this is really efficient. Thumbs up 👍

    Having a lot of fun on TCG Live with a modified version of the third deck you showed. It's actually been modified enough to probably be unrecognizable. Pidgeot EX is the all star in games where I can't get the combo in play early enough to insta-win and my opponent keeps throwing out regular Basics onto their bench. If that doesn't work, Terapagos usually takes them down.

    • @timdanklin
      @timdanklin  2 месяца назад

      That's so sick to hear!! Glad you've been enjoying it - now that you mention it, pidgeot ex could be a really cool inclusion, especially with the free retreat

    • @gambler1650
      @gambler1650 2 месяца назад +1

      @@timdanklin Yup! Just the icing on the cake. One game I just kept Torrential Pumping, Quick Searching the double energy, attach to Ogerpon. Wash, rinse, repeat. Almost as good a feeling as when Terapagos ex comes online with nothing but Basic ex-es on the other side. I'm a pretty new player, so I'm sure I'm not playing against the best decks, but I may put my TCG Live deck together IRL and head to a local tournament. Trying to get the kinks out of my game though, I still make far too many simple mistakes - mostly due to forgetting things like Nest Ball putting my Lumineon V on the bench doesn't trigger its ability, etc. Thanks though for putting such great content up. I love below the radar type stuff, and this video particularly just made Pokemon click with me.

    vic unfortunately went 75 out of 79 the next day btw, 0-4-0 same deck. The base deck used is inconsistent for sure if it’s going 6-2-0 then 0-4-0 a day later. That is just the heart of the cards sometimes though lol, especially in this meta - either day could’ve been a fluke. It lost to Regi, Bolt, Pult, then Palkia before he dropped.
    However, that doesn’t say anything about your refined version at all, with your accolades in real tourneys I really trust this revision a lot, and I’m hopeful these improvements make this standout more because this looks really fun to play! Awesome video and workshopping! New sub for sure.

      I’m glad you have a channel btw, you always place well in your Aussie Regionals, it’s great to have real talent showing the ropes to others. Thank you for taking time to post theory and workshop these things on video. This helps with understanding how decks are built, before people just copy paste the same list from the internet with nearly no changes and it’s all you ever seem to play against in online play haha. Congrats on 1k!

      @@timdanklinthat’s great! I think you’ll do some solid numbers, this community desperately needs more competition players doing deck breakdowns. At this time it seems Azul and LDF are the only two tourney players that really dive into deck theory or showing anything. I’m sure there are more I’m forgetting. Azul sticks close to meta due to his position, LDF shows great bad deck Fridays for some rogue content, this is cozy in the center.
      I like a deck that practices good theory and has consistency, but is “off-meta” lol, I’m glad there is more room to play in the current F sets.
      Im hoping to run a few hours of practice on Live and see if the Greninja version of this is as fun as it is in my head haha. I’m excited to test it!

    I'm already playing Palkia with Greninja.
    Since the deck runs very little supporters, but a lot of Items and Greninja, I already run Colress.
    I already run DTE since I play both Colress and Greninja already.
    I could literally just put an Ogerpon in there and switch Catcher for Crystal, maybe 1 Town Store.
    Palkia can even recharge the Ogerpon if necessary.
    The deck also runs the Dusk Line.

    I'm confused. How does this work? Wellspring Ogerpon states that you have to shuffle 3 energy cards back into your deck to get the 120 bench damage. It is worded very specifically that you have to shuffle in 3 energy cards. If you attach a crystal and DTE, then that's only 1 energy card thereby making it impossible to get the bench damage benefit. Am i just dumb and missing something obvious? Is this meant to be satire? I'm seriously very confused.

    • @timdanklin
      @timdanklin  2 месяца назад +1

      You aren't dumb, it's just not super intuitive - in Pokemon you fulfil as much of the effect as possible, so it will actually work after you shuffle in just the DTE (assuming that is your only energy)

    • @chasesmith4273
      @chasesmith4273 2 месяца назад

      @@timdanklinthis still doesn’t make sense. The effect states “You may shuffle 3 energy attached to this Pokémon into the deck. IF YOU DO, this attack also does 120 damage to one of your opponent’s benched Pokemon. Even the DTE is just 2 energy. It doesn’t fulfill the requirement of 3 energy. If you don’t have the 3 energy to send you can’t just send 2. If it said “up to 3” then it would be different.
