@Gosiame Motseleng YoungstaCPT has his own entity called Y?GEN. That's why the first guy that's from Pretoria sounds wack because of the label he signed with
No such thing as a south african accent , SA has 6 different accents -General SA english -Broad SA english -Acrolet Indian SA english -Acrolet afrikaans SA english -Acrolet black SA english -Mesolect SA english
South Africa has a wide variety of accents. That's how white South Africans sound like. Most coloureds speak like youngsta. while black accents vary depending on the schools you attended. Trevor Noah is a good example of a typical South African accent. Julius Malema has a militant accent which is popular amongst the poloticians
We have 9 different provinces with different accent and with different style of music just keep that in mind and we are not trying to be American or anything like that or British. We are South African and we do things differently and we understand each other.
😂😂😂 I'm Coloured and speak Afrikaans, but I don't understand a word of Youngstas Afrikaans or Cape Coloured Afrikaans. I think they deliberately changed Afrikaans to this secret language only tgey understand and you have to be around them for a long time to understand what they say. My husband always have to translate for me.
You guys should react to more Youngsta Cpt music videos to get to see the more ghetto/township side of Cape Town. Cape Town is far from privileged for black and coloured people
Plz react on more of YoungstaCPT's music you will feel why he was named SA lyricist of the year in 2017, and he is one of the most underrated artist but he's got the bars, vibes and hard raps and he's always kept it Capetonian with the accent
Youngsta is not white , his coloured. And in jozi , there's not only townships 😂. They just choose to show that side when shooting for music videos. AKA is from Cape Town .
They referred to Chad as being white and he's actually not. And AKA isn't from Cape Town. 'He's from Joburg. His mom is from the Cape, but he was raised in Joburg that's why he sounds like Chad. We don't really have English White rappers in S.A. now that i think of it.
Reason why Chad Da Don didn't use the typical "Coloured accent" is because he is not from Cape Town and the way he rapped is actually the way he speaks
Youngsta was raised on the Cape Flats. Gangster paradise. Kullids was forcefully removed from their homes near the beaches with the beautiful sea and mountain views. Banished to these Falklands where they weŕe out of the way of Whites and Europeans, but still cĺose enough to travel to white suburbs to clean houses and tend gardens. Much like Blacks in Gauteng who were bundled up in Soweto and other black townships. Yes the contrast between Cape Town CBD and suburbs and the Flats where a lot of Kullids live is as day and night. Watch and listen to Old Kaapie of Youngsta. Even today people are still living like that. Oh an Old Kaapie is a specific knife favoured by gangsters. The blade folds back into the handle and it's kinda scary how quick they can whip it out and flick the blade out. You know Engrish is Not my mother's tongue. Do you call it a switchblade? It's shown in the video.
YoungstaCPT Ran this song.. CPT, JHB and KZN(Durban) they all have different vibes. the more videos you guys watch you will pick it up. Awesome reactions i feel proud when people watch SA Music... Chad is still coming back (7) youngstaCPT (8.5) video "8".
But guy, Chad doesn't sound American, South African English, just like Botswana doesn't sound like the rest of Africa. And YoungstarCPT that's colored accent in SA, it's more influenced by Afrikaans, And Yes Cape Town is totally different from the rest of South Africa, Lot of white people in one place, Johannesburg is still business hub of SA but some major companies head offices have moved to Cape Town but they operate mostly in JHB coz of large population in Gauteng. lastly please Gqom and Hip Hop SA some time out and react to other genres here...more of house music please, we have the best in the whole world.
Yes Chad dont sound Ameŕican at all. From Pretoria. Less than half an hour's drive from Joburg. And Chad is Ènglish speaking. Hear those t's. To know where Youngsta gets his grit from you have To know that as Kullids outside of Joburg we used to associate Hip Hop and rap with Cape Town Kullids. That's why they also have this beat boy and breakdancing culture. Those years we knew that Capies rap and do break dance and beàtboxing. Im a North West kullid. Old school, R & B, House music. More like Joburg. So Youngsta is dangerously legit coz he grew up in a gangster environment and they are associated with rap music
Youngstacpt is becoming the biggest thing in South Africa at the moment and his bringing light to the Cape Malay culture in Cape Town as well. Best album of 2019 and voted that too. Youngstacpt brings awareness to how ganstarism and living in poor areas and how it doesn't make you seem less of a person. Please take some time and actually listen to his music then you will see Cape Town is not all boujie and high class it was made on the backs of poor people
Chad did no American Accent you guys...what the hell? that's just how he speak, here In South Africa your accent mostly depend on what ethnicity you are, I'm talking about Afrikaaner people , Colored, Indian,Black etc.. having this "American Accent" y'all keep talking about could also mean you went to a good school

I'm from Cape Town and I'm a Cape Malay. Youngsta Represent The culture of us, Cape malay. Like in his son Arabian Gangster, he speaks about the gangsterism in Cape Flats. You can call Youngsta very street wise. Like every race has a culture. He represents our culture. Kaapstad 4 life. Dala what you must!!!!
When YoungstaCPT was talking about being America, it was a play on words. In Cape Town there is a notorious gang called "The Americans", so he is saying that he wanted to be a member of the The Americans but ended up not, and living a life of his own. Something along those lines
In South Africa there are mixed race people e.g. AKA, Trevor Noah , those people are what you think mixed race is but coloureds are generations of mixed raced people procreating over and over again. (I hope that helps) Cape Town is different from everywhere in South Africa, it's basically more 'White' and segregated than the hubs of South Africa but there are townships and all, but for the most part it's very 'white'. At the same time music all over SA is different like theres Joburg rap and there's Cape Town rape and you can hear it but then again it's the culture, it's very different all over SA On a lighter note, I am a South African watching your videos from China and I love the culture of togetherness (ubuntu) you guys have it's honestly so amazing. Chad Da Don is the one who introduced Cassper Nyovest into the mainstream hip hop when Cassper Nyovest was still a back up dancer for artists like HHP (Hip Hop Pantsula) during live perfprmances. Chad featured Cassper Nyovest on the track called "Hola" which blew up. The music video for this track was released sometime in June 2013.
Dope reaction guys Younsta CPT won a Lyricist of The Year award last year I think, he's the most raw artist in RSA. His accent is a Coloured accent though so that's why you don't hear the accent from other rappers it's specific to their race. AKA and Shane Eagle are coloured too originally from Cape Town but they have been based in Joburg and the coloureds in Joburg don't have an accent as strong as the ones in Cape Town but it is there. The reason Youngsta is so unapologetic about it is coz here in RSA, even in Cape Town people find the accent ratchet and some coloured people try to alter it coz they feel ashamed of it. Please check out Priddy Ugly ft Youngsta CPT - Come To My Kasi. His bars there are crazy!
Can someone tell me how a south african accent sounds like? I've lived in this country all my life but i can't tell you how the SA accent sound like. ..accent in south africa depends on where you ar 1.what language u speak 2.and what kind of school you went to 3...this american accent thing must come to an end now..ofcouse the music is influenced by america bt not the accent...
It's A South African accent not THE South African accent. We honestly have many accents because of the various backgrounds from which South Africans come from and the many indigenous languages we have.
Listen to his other tracks and you will see a story unfolding. One of the comments suggests that we were more privelaged in the apartheid era, pls remember that that was the hierarchy of apartheid. That is how the government of the time pit us against each other but in reality both groups suffered tremendously and banded together to fight apartheid. I was part of the struggle generation and I know. Youngsta tells a story in his music about the coloured people and black people and tries to highlight the plight of his people and to let the world know that we are proudly South African. Let us unite as a nation as one people instead and recognise diversity and respect each other guys.

so tell me .... what accent is shekhinah doing 🤔 since u guys are saying we are copying and pasting accents ..... in south african only Cape coloureds speak like the way youngsta speaks its their accent hence u have never heard a black guy with that accent
Shekinah is from Durban surrounds. Good schooling thus model C. I haven't heard her speaking casually to hear if she has the Natal twang with the very distinc pronunciation of the t 's and o's. It sounds like they add s' to their t's and very rounded O's. I hope by this time you've heard a black guy with the capie accent. Im a kullid from the North West. I stayed in the Western Cape for a year. Scary place away from the nice suburbs, because of the very strong gangster lifestyle and influence amongst the Kullids. Most Kullids speak Afrikaans. Joburg and Durban Kullids more English. But I found it hard to understand their Afrikaans, because of the strange accent and deliberate changing of words. I asked a guy why they speak like that and he said they had to speak Afrikaans so as a form of defiance they totally changed it to make it intelligible so that White people couldn't understand them when they spoke to each other. The difference between Chad and Youngsta is the surrounds where they grew up. Up until today the gangs rule Kullid townships over the Western Cape region. Sadly it spillèd over into black townships lately. The Cape is still very segregated but Black people who do mix with Kullids especially in the poorer integrated areas speak Afrikaans more than Blacķ people in other parts of the country and thus obviously they speak it with the capie accent. I actually found it amusing every time i heard it. The Capie accent is very different on its own,but to hear it from a black person is like hearing a white person speak Zulu.
Check out YoungstaCPT - Yasis and check out Priddy Ugly feat. YoungstaCPT - Come To My Kasi...YoungstaCPT's verse is pure fire!!!!! Also check out YoungstaCPT - Came, Saw, Conquered. BARRRRSS!!!!
Joburg is the economic hub of SA , it's the City of Gold. Aka is from Cpt but is based in Joburg. Cpt stands for Cape Town. Not everybody or rapper sounds like a coloured person , they specifically have their own accent as coloured people. Listen to Youngsta Cpt - " Wifey " that sounds American and that will show you the diversity of SA rappers and their talents of switching up accents. We didn't grow up watching American content only , we just like any country that has their own content but then also American content is an influence to our culture like any country , for hip hop wouldn't be worldwide if it wasn't for America.
Youngsta CPT is from Cape Town and is highlighting him as a coloured person in South Africa today and how we are perceived, that is why he references the grimy coloured guy. The rest of the world don`t really know the coloured people of South and that is why you are surprised to see a different type of m .usic. In South Africa we are portrayed as being that group of people who is too white to be black and too black to bbe white
I hope Ubinifu's visit to SA in 2019 gave you a broader spectrum of all our different accents across this beautiful country, Chad was original as he has a more "white" accent, something that you guys don't often experience in your reaction videos. Still love your work.
YoungstaCPT tells the true story of the Cape Townian people, he incorporates a wide variety of aspects of this culture, from the socio-economic influences such as drug abuse, gangsterism and its negative impact on our society, to the beauty of Cape Town, giving patriotic recognition to the people, landscapes, opportunity and general vibe of the 021. He is definitely an artist you should react more to as it will give you a different view of the South African music industry. I am a massive fan of your channel and always look forward to all the South African song reactions! @TheUbunifuspace
I just want to say Chad is a beast in my opinion! He's been away for a while and seeing him back makes me happy although I don't think he did his best on this one, but I definitely know he can do better.
Guys hip hop is a global language, I don't think in 2018 it's fair to box people and classify them according to their accent. Like it or not, Hip Hop was popularised by Americans. So it doesn't matter where you from, it can be Uk, Africa or Asia, if you're doing hip hop you will always have subtle influences and nuances that are reminiscent of America. We can speak about originality and authenticity but if you grew up knowing and hearing one sound surely it's obvious that you will also be influenced by that. One thing you need to know about South Africa is that the country is very diverse. There's different niches that cater to different artists. Not everyone sounds like Youngsta but on the inverse not everybody sounds like Chad. Personally I think the fact that Chad is a little bit shabby on the track goes a long way to accentuate the prowess of Youngsta CPT. BTW the issue of accent is very subjective and borderline hypocritical because when an artist like Nasty C or A Reece does it, it's much more acceptable since their execution is always on point. On the inverse when an artist like Chad does it, it's then questionable.
Cape Town is the birth place of SA hip hop. Graffiti, breakdance and rap. Bruin-ous started rapping before rapping was popular in this country. All original Legend rappers come from Cape Town. They all poor because South Africans only started supporting our own music very recently. Cape town is very arty.
South Africans and our sensitive nature, cpt is an abbreviation of cape town. Every province in SA is different, Younsta has a typical coloured accent because of afrikaans upbringing. Aka, Chad and Shane were brought up in an english speaking household and yes some of our english does sound american because of the influence
IM COLOURED WE SALUTE YOUNGTS WEST KAAP PROUDLY WE HAVE AN ACCENT THAT CANNOT BE REMADE CAPE TOWN IS THE MOTHER CITY WE ALL COULOUREDS ARE LIVEN IN THE GHETTO AINT EASZY ARE LIVING
In South Africa we have mixed-race and coloured people. Coloured isn't a slur here, it's a entire, vibrant ethnic group with history, traditions and culture. Eg. Trevor Noah is mixed-race but Wayde van Niekerk is coloured. There's a difference.
Coloured is a separate race from black in S.A., coloureds decent from the San people and mixed people are considered as colored in S.A. for example Travis Noah... his mom is Xhosa and dad is Swiss
Go to youngsta wifey and cpt is not privileged ..it is the gangsta capital of sa ..kullid people are not rich but we are the most well dressed because its almost like a culture for us
His Accent is influenced by Afrikaans language...most coloured people in south Africa have that accent and they made it their culture more especial in cape town because that's where majority of them are coming from and chad da don his based in Johannesburg
It's like they were concentrating the same way as when you take a dump when Chad Da Don was rapping 😂🤣 (2) Chad Da Don is not from Cape Town (3) AKA was born in Cape Town and is Cape Coloured or Cape Malaysian having a more neutral international sound incorporating local lingo and language
Also check out the discussion we had after the video, we had a very in depth discussion, drop your opinons on the points brought up and also correct us below if you feel we have made a mistake in what we may of said in the discussion!
The Ubunifu Space Cape town is not privileged guys, check out artists like Driemanskap and youll see the other side of Cape town. The side you wont see on TV. They rap in vernac (isixhosa).

Cape town is where apartheid was architectured.. Its one city in Africa where blacks are the minority. I lived there for 10 years, and one thing I can say is that it's urban artist culture is far deeply rooted than any other city in SA. I think that is because apartheid elements are still very much alive there, and the struggle always enhances art, rebelliousness and the spirit of changing the world . Which comes to my next point, Cape Town is the art capital of Africa.
AKA was born in CPT then moved to Jozi (CPT = Cape Town & Jozi = Johannesburg) Kaapstad is Cape Town in Afrikaans. Chad was in an accident see link below ( www.channel24.co.za/The-Juice/News/chad-da-don-recovering-after-car-crash-20170414 ) Cape Town is the "tourist capital" of South Africa, it is very picturesque but is not necessarily more affluent than Jozi in fact most probably the opposite....check out some of YoungstasCPT's other videos shot on the Cape Flats to get an idea of the actual standard of living. Also, up until the late 90s to early 2000s Cape Town was the hub of Hip Hop, real hip hop as an artform and means of expression (which is evident in YoungstaCPT's bars). When rapping about cars, clothes and money became fashionable, somehow Cape Town couldn't (or chose not to) keep with this trend and the "hub" of hip hop moved to Johannesburg / Gauteng (Gauteng is the province Jozi is located in) This song is actually evidence of the difference between Cape Town and Jozi rappers because (your words) Chad Da Don was weak and YoungstaCPT saved it. Chad Da Don is from Pretoria in Gauteng and YoungstaCPT from Cape Town. I'm not saying Jozi's rappers are whack I'm merely pointing out the fact that Jozi rappers are like you guys said more focused on making music that makes money where YoungstaCPT would rather be authentically South African or more importantly authentically Capetonian.
yo folks...the accent situation is somewhat diverse in the country,we don't try sounding American,we have folks that sound British and others very densely African too,it's a case of where one lives yes,but accent is not choice. It's an upbringing.
Chad if from Pretoria and youngsta from cape town,,,these two rappers are more focused on they lyrics than swag,,love them,,,im glad yall see the murdering punches youngsta throws,,,amen,,,
there is many white musicians in joburg. Chad is from Pretoria actually, its the capital city next to joburg. We have different types of music from the EDM you guys know to all the music genres we create. Chad has a few kwaito based hip hop with casper in fact he started out in caspers stable then went independent.
Coloured is a culture, not just a race. Khoisan are endogenous to South Africa and are considered coloured. Although many "mixed" race people identify themselves as "coloured " it is the ideology and culture they identify with rather than the race.
"South African accent" come to South Africa, we've got 12 of them
More than 12
YoungstaCPT is definitely one of the more authentic South African rappers, and clearly brought it in this track #BARZ
Blessing Ngomane most authentic guy who could go international
Ey Mnaka
aweeeh
Chad comes from Pretoria and he was signed to Cassper's Family Tree... the secound guy is from CPT.
@Gosiame Motseleng YoungstaCPT has his own entity called Y?GEN. That's why the first guy that's from Pretoria sounds wack because of the label he signed with
We not mix race we are COLOURED!! Shout out CapeTown shout out Youngsta for giving cape coloureds a voice
I love how everyone's an expert on accents now... 😩😂
No such thing as a south african accent , SA has 6 different accents

-Broad SA english
-Acrolet Indian SA english
-Acrolet afrikaans SA english

Fresh Prince of Durban I see you coming around dude
Yeah I hope this changes their misconceptions on why our artists sound the way they do.
What about South Africa politicians Accent
No doubt Chad sounds very South African it's his style that is American
Neo Mulaudzi there's no such thing as a political accent, Trevor Noah coined that term.
South Africa has a wide variety of accents. That's how white South Africans sound like. Most coloureds speak like youngsta. while black accents vary depending on the schools you attended. Guys you need to check Youngsta CPT music videos .you gonna see both sides of Cape Town
Youngsta was raised on the Cape Flats. Gangster paradise. Kullids was forcefully removed from their homes near the beaches with the beautiful sea and mountain views.
YoungstaCPT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :)
youngsta is one of the hardest with bars period, not just here in SA, but koke!

You guys should definitely take notice of youngsta CPT best upcoming artist in South Africa. Repping us coloured people
Joburg is the economic hub of SA , it's the City of Gold.
CPT - Cape Town. That’s what it means
Because he's terrible, so ofcourse we're allowed to trash him for it
Proudly coloured
Cape Town is the birth place of SA hip hop. Graffiti, breakdance and rap. Bruin-ous started rapping before rapping was popular in this country. All original Legend rappers come from Cape Town. They all poor because South Africans only started supporting our own music very recently.
Cape town is very arty.
He couldn't represent us any better....CPT West Coast...straight out of Belhar...keep it going Riyaadh
Brain (or whatever his name is), the founder of Ubunifu Space makes an absolutely fantastic point. I guess that's why he is the founder.
youngstaCpt (cape town) but "here we go bos", but his other music also gevaarlik (dangerous) salutas

When through your archives wanting to see your Mobi Dixon - Bhutiza song but you don't have it. Can't believe you haven't reacted to such a banger.
It's like they were concentrating the same way as when you take a dump when Chad Da Don was rapping 😂🤣 (2) Chad Da Don is not from Cape Town (3) AKA was born in Cape Town and is Cape Coloured or Cape Malaysian having a more neutral international sound incorporating local lingo and language
please do more youngstah videos...

a.k.a is from cape town based in joburg
CPT stands for Cape Town.AKA may be based in Johannesburg but he is originally from Cape Town.
I'm not saying Jozi's rappers are whack I'm merely pointing out the fact that Jozi rappers are like you guys said more focused on making music that makes money where YoungstaCPT would rather be authentically South African or more importantly authentically Capetonian.
we have townships in Cape Town a lot of them. we just not allowed to shoot in the areas due to high crime rates
Kindly asking you to listen to more of youngsta's music. Man brings that fuego.
Chad Da Don is from Pretoria. Joburg's sister city and 45 minutes away.

Youngsta pure legend CPT for life.... #Youngstacpt
yo folks...the accent situation is somewhat diverse in the country,we don't try sounding American,we have folks that sound British and others very densely African too,it's a case of where one lives yes,but accent is not choice. It's an upbringing.
its been a year plz react to youngtacpt's videos
Youngsta killing bars like lunchbar
Youngsta CPT you guys need to check his other stuff!
Man reps Coloured South African culture!
AKA is based in Joburg but originated from Cape Town . So he started in Cape Town and then went to Joburg to kick off his career .

Cape Town majority are white and coloured, in Joburg majority are black and in each province the accents are different.
