Thank you so much Max. One of those storms that was full of surprise, and certainly made everyone wait for it too! And excellent work with Helen, as always you're crushing it out there!
Incredible footage, James! I especially loved the shots driving along with that row of tall palm trees bending to the wind. This was clearly a significant hit, and good that it happened during daytime for higher quality video. Awesome job as always!
Thanks so much Jose! I knew you'd dig that shot and what makes it even cooler is that location was right at the threshold of the runway at KHH with the winds ripping right down the middle of it
You didn't mind the dangerous difficulties to show us the most realistic footage. Wishing you good health and peace. Don't forget to keep me complete, my friend.❤❤❤
We don't love to living by the beach, the coast of Taiwan is full of rocks not like Florida, and uncomfortable because of humidity, the weather here is completely different with America🙂
@@MsDebbie0611 I have read that it is quite humid (and hot) in Florida as well. In any case, it doesn't make sense to build one's home on a sandy beach in a hurricane zone, but apparently some people are slow to learn that, judging from the Hurricane Helene aftermath videos I have recently watched.
We generally prefer concrete and rebars over wood, probably because it's more sturdy and can withstand earthquakes and typhoons better. Even in ancient times, our ancestors used bricks and (believe it or not) glue made of sticky rice.
During the typhoon, the waves are as big as tsunami. No Taiwanese lives so close to the coast. ruclips.net/video/P9D9jYLmJKQ/видео.htmlsi=kerW-EXNqp8a_6Gj
Ah okay thanks @gianeronabalos, because almost every season Super Typhoon always make landfall on Batanes and now i know why there's hadn't a single Storm chaser their
A solid blob watch and some classic palm action for Palm lol. Need to go through all the footage properly to isolate the best shots - will send those to you!
70 knots. Despite it being 70kts,kaohsiung hasn't had a hurricane force landfall since 1977. Gusts throughout the city ranged between 80 and 105 mph and damage was on par with merranti of 2016 although merranti only had it's outer eyewall hit the city
It doesn't begin to compare with Haiyan. Krathon was unpleasant but when you get into the category 4 and 5 range the unpleasantness is on a completely different scale
It proves it doesn’t have to be a category four a category, five hurricane typhoon or cyclone to be proven destructive, even in a category One hurricane can still have dangerous wins, because those window capable of flowing down trees, powerline they cannot power out, and it doesn’t have to be the wind. Is the the storm surges and flooding that causes the most damage in Storms but you still want to take cover, even if it’s a high in tropical storm or category one, because it will still be debris everywhere and trees falling, and that what kills people in Storms as well
Great intercept as always, looks like Krathon gave the area quite the lashing!
Thank you so much Max. One of those storms that was full of surprise, and certainly made everyone wait for it too! And excellent work with Helen, as always you're crushing it out there!
We are ok, it happens every year, no hurts👍

Thank you for watching and the comment!
Best storm chaser with high quality audio vedio ever i noticed keep doing best 👍
Thank you!
Incredible footage James. The radar presentation look like a cat 3
Thanks Logan - yeah, I don't know what was going on with that storm but it suddenly decided to notching things up a gear at landfall
omgggg james be safe okkkkk amazing footage wowww
Thanks!
Thanks so much Paul!!
Really amazing footage, take care out there James.
Thanks David
I am wondering how could he managed to control the drone and taken the high quality last parts of vedio without any shaking😮
Thanks for watching until the end - the wind wasn't too bad when I shot those clips so managed to get stable footage
It was a quick video release, looks like when you hit upload button as soon as you back Japan.
Edited on the flight, smashed the upload button as soon as I landed
Do I guess right that in Taiwan (unlike in Florida) they do NOT build wooden houses on stilts just a few meters from the sea?🤔
We admire Floridians' display of courage, we like our true and tested concrete and rebar here in Taiwan XD

i wish there was a storm chaser go to batanes when a storm hits there ,but transportation is hard
Ah okay thanks @gianeronabalos, because almost every season Super Typhoon always make landfall on Batanes and now i know why there's hadn't a single Storm chaser their
@@damien_lebrave yeah, batanes is more closer to taiwan than mainland luzon
That's exactly it - one needs to deploy 2 to 3 days early. When I checked flights for Krathon they were already cancelled. I'll get there one day
Wow, thanks for the video. However, I think you are putting yourself in danger. Take care.
Thank you - calculated risks, I've been doing this a long time now.
This is my new favorite video or yours. 2:38 I'm glad you put that in :P

@@EarthUncutTV it has that feel of a serious old storm not wanting to give up.
Cannot imagine the consequences if the typhoon had made landfall at full force...
Ha, it’s near KIA, my roof was flown away
Oh damn I'm sorry to hear that
How strong was this at landfall?

Hey bro there is kaohsiung
Does it compare to haiyan? Stay safe out there

The last hurricane force landfall in kaohsiung was 1977.
