That poor baby. Thank god for the people who saved her
Yes God
@@lathafalls7675 i more meant the people who actually saved her
Really? You can't thank the ACTUAL HUMANS who did something for her? You need to thank your worthless fairy tale "god" - that BTW did NOTHING to help this or any animal. NOTHING. The ACTUAL REAL HUMANS though - they DID help her. So how about you thank THEM instead huh?
I'll do it for you - THANK YOU to the amazing REAL men and women who help these animals. THANK YOU.
I adopted a dog at the local shelter and not only was she overweight but also older and very much shutdown. I learned upon adopting her that this was the second time that she was brought to the shelter. I promised her that this is her forever family and no going back to the shelter ever. I have had her for several months now and she is slowly losing weight and because she was abandoned more than once, she is also slowly getting attached .
Kudos to the lady in the video to giving this beautiful dog a second chance at a good life!
Bless you ❤
Wish there were more people like you. God bless you for understanding how an animal can also feel dejected when they are returned again and again. I hope she has many more healthy years in a loving and caring environment with you and your family.
Thank you for all that you do. I too had adopted a cat that had been bought back to the SPCA here in NZ twice, overweight, angry, sad and shut down at the age of three years, and rightly so. Found out over time she had a lot of dental problems from not been given proper care through her formative years which we have taken care of and really after two major treatments was like another girl - she had been in pain for a long time. We have got her weight down by 4kg, gone through thyroid issues, and now diabetes. Shes 14 now, and she knows what true love is, she knows she is loved we tell her and show her everyday. She is a true blessing in our lives.
God bless you and your dog. From penny 🦮and her mom👩
You are a hero!!!!!!
Frannie and her mama deserve a standing ovation ❤ Bravo 👏❤️🥰😍🫶🏼

Poor baby 😭 I’m so happy she has you!
What started as tears of sadness quickly transformed into tears of joy and gratitude.....thank you for rescuing this beautiful girl!!!💖

As a fellow golden owner, I just want to say thank you. Dogs are truly amazing and noble creatures, and it breaks my heart whenever I see one suffering due to neglect or poor treatment.
A sincere, heartfelt thank you for bringing the shine back to Frannie’s eyes.❤

Her surrounded by tennis balls, radiating pure joy. She is in her happy place, in a happy proper home.
If the people responsible for that poor baby don't have mitigating circumstances like dementia or something, I honestly hope they are truly ashamed of themselves and get what they deserve.
Even if they had an illness... it's inexcusable to me. Cos then there would be multiple people to blame. A chronically ill person has other people around watching them usually. And those people would be responsible too.
Sadly that is not always the case and even if someone is there, they may simply just feed the dog('saving time' by simply heaping a gaint food serving, take them to go potty, and not bother to walk them. Or just let the cognitively impaired person feed the pet, as 'it's so simple, they've done it for years, there's no way it can go wrong', or a person with memory issues had multiple pets loses one, but keeps putting out food for multiple animals. There are a lot of ways things can go wrong.
It could literally be as simple as a formerly extremely active pet getting older or injured so they aren't as bouncy as they used to be, and the owners leave the food out in a bowl and just refill when empty. Though frankly, that should just be kept to te pet getting chubby before someone notices something.
Aslo, some folks are just too ignorant and irresponsible to be trusted with their own care, let alone anyone else. Sadly, there are lots of ways to get a pet and most aren't exactly having anyone fill out an iq and common sense survey.
How folks have mitigating circumstances , though some are just properly unfit to have animal companions, yes
Severe animal abuse!!! Why would someone be so cruel!! Frannie you’re awesome!!🐶🥰 Thank you for saving that beautiful dog!!!
It's not always as it looks. I saw one video where the dog was overfed becuase it had an owner who was a senior and was too old to be able to walk it and didn't realize how much she was feeding it. You don't know the sitution. Never judge a book by it's cover.
@@arrowverselover100 Exactly! From what I have read from other comments, Goldens are prone to obesity or Cushing's which also causes obesity, or there may be other factors.
@@elouise5593 Yup
@@arrowverselover100I. Don't. Care. If they are elderly or incompetent then you don't give jail time and instead prohibit them from owning animals. Abuse happened. An animal suffered. You can make all the excuses you want. There has to be consequences for abusing an animal.
I'm with you, I was actually coming to post about even if they were unaware of what they were doing, rather it was out of misguided/uninformed love or having alzheimers etc, they should be held accountable in that they do not get a pet again. If out of misguided love/uninformed then if they show remorse and want another pet they need to be monitored after to show after that they learned how to properly care for and love any animal.
If they're prone to obsesity or have a disease that's one thing, but on the other hand if I had a dog that started gaining unhealthy weight I would find out why, and not let it get to where they had to lose HALF their body weight. So I do think it was probably someone who didn't understand or was elderly and didn't know what they were doing. Also, Frannie was clearly was capable of losing it and keeping it off in this video. Go her and her new fam!
I am genuinely impressed with her new mommy, giving her the gift of health.
Poor friggin baby omg!! I know people think feeding a dog is showing them love and some people just can't say no when a dog begs for table food but if you really loved your dog you would not do this to it and keep it at a healthy weight!! This was absolutely heart breaking to watch!! God bless those who helped Frannie!!❤❤
10000% agree
You are right, of course, overfeeding your pet doesn't do them any favours.
However, after having watched quite a number of _huge pet_ videos, I noticed that often the problem arises when the little sweetie's guardian is old. The human suffers from memory loss or is in the early stages of Alzheimer's ... and simply forgets that the pet has already been fed a meal. So the cat/dog gets fed six or eight meals a day and, greedy little fellows that they are, gobbles them all up.
@@Gaius__ Exactly what I was thinking, That is often the case.
Omg that poor girl!!!! She’s so pretty and sweet too! Her human really deserves so much credit for giving that sweet girl her life back.
Thank goodness you rescued this beautiful baby. You saved Frannies life.
🐶🩷
A long journey but so worth it. God Bless Frannie and her amazing mom!
You are truly a life saver. Not only physically but mentally. She is now happy! Thank you for the love and patience you give to this beautiful girl.
That’s unconditional love and dedication! Thank you for saving Frannie’s life and giving her a happy forever home! Glad she has such a loving and caring mother! We need more people like her in this world.
Dodo you guys are awesome! Thank you for posting these heartwarming and wholesome videos!
Oh, this is so lovely. Thank you for fostering her, helping her with her severe weight disability, loving her, and adopting her! You are a fabulous pupper Mom! Ruffle that sweet girl’s head for me! 💙
This made me cry how could anyone be so cruel to a gorgeous soul is beyond me
Me too!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭
A lot of people get older, get morbidly obese, can barely go on a walk themselves. If that's not the case yeh who ever owned that dog is a horrible person.
omgggg you cried.
@@ritzharrison2751Even if not those factors you mentioned, it may not be that simple. There are many other factors. Many people love their animals too much and give them whatever they ask, not realizing the consequences. I would think it would more likely be intentional cruelty, if the dog were starving.

I love Golden Retrievers! How could someone overfeed her like this? Thank you for saving this beauty.
It may not be as simple as you imagine.
I smiled all through that.
Thank you for your patience and love
Just what i needed this morning. She already chose you to be her mom.
One of the Dodo's best stories, it had me tears the whole way....THANK YOU the Dodo !
What an incredible transformation Frannie has gone through.
I adopted an overweight senior and omg getting the weight off was an actual struggle. Turned out he had cushings which caused problems with his blood sugar. We only figured out he had cushings after he developed diabetes (& that was only a guess bc it’s a hard condition to diagnose). But we got him on a very specific homemade diet (bc ofc he also had an allergy to ingredients like poultry so the diabetic dog foods didn’t work), fed him at the same time every day, & almost no treats. That was sad, but fortunately he loved vegetables so he was allowed high fiber veggies evry so often. He had so many health challenges but we managed to keep him going for 4 yrs. Last month I had to make the decision to let him go. He was blind, had dementia as well as diabetes & had become increasingly incontinent. I struggled with that decision but our vet let me know it was the right time. I had a senior before him who I had to also put down when she was 15 & that decision was so much easier bc her organs were failing and she was miserable. With Toby it was harder bc he could have lived awhile longer but he seemed to have lost almost all joy in his life. But at the end he got all the treats. Ice cream, deli meat, chocolate, the lovely vet tech even gave him a peanut butter cup. But jfc was it hard & it’s been even harder afterwards bc for 2+ years my life revolved around caring for a declining dog. Like evry minute of every day I had to know where he was. He could nvr be left alone. So there’s a hole in my life.
I'm so sorry about your dog. When I had to let my 20 yr old big orange cat go, I was a mess and the vet told me "It'll be ok. He'll be alright the next time you see him" I absolutely believe that. And your dog with be alright too. It is hard but things will get better. ❤🐶
I'm so sorry about Toby. Sending you love and hugs.
@@parkerbrown-nesbit1747 thank you. I once saw a cheesy sign for sale that said the only thing wrong with dogs is how soon they leave us. But it’s true, dogs are just such a gift to humans. It’s funny bc I was a dedicated cat grl my whole life until I had a kid who loved animals but was incredibly allergic to them. I got a dog bc “hypoallergenic” dogs (dogs with hair), didn’t trigger her, & I was instantly converted into a true dog person. (I still love cats but not a possibility rn). Like how did I go my whole life never having a dog look at me like I’m the best thing ever. No matter how bad you look, no matter how shtty life is going, they stay looking at you with utter devotion.
@@Comrade_mommy I'm an equal opportunity animal lover (although I draw the line at alligators). I've had both cats and dogs (as well as a hamster -- who was besties with the dog I had at the time).
The year between losing Lars the Mastador and finding Molly the Belgian Malinois was the longest year ever.
Wow what a fantastic foster carer. That's a huge backbreaking undertaking, the dedication and love is admirable. Well done doggy and new mom.
You saved her life. You are a good person.
omg duuude she saved a dog
What a beautiful story. Thank you for helping her and not giving up on her. Go Frannie go!! 🎉
Wow, I praise you for the patience and commitment to help this dog. I'm not sure how she got so overweight. Previous owner? lack of empathy, sensitivity, and love
Maybe too much love.

Frannie is a strong, resilient, joyful, smart, spunky, and courageous soul. She is a true warrior, and her new guardian human is a blessing and i, amoung many, am so humbly grateful for the time, dedi, and love
How can someone let that dog get so big,she was probably so uncomfortable? My dog is about 10 pounds overweight but we go out all the time. You saved her life!!
I know the Dodo focuses on the upside, but the person who did this to her should be charged with cruelty.
It's disgusting g what they did to this dog. Dipshits
Something that’s very common in goldens is Cushing’s disease I deal with this myself with my Golden. It’s a constant battle with the weight and some goldens are just happy just doing absolutely nothing not all of them are full of energy so please understand that there are underlying conditions.
You don’t know whole story dude.
@@red3here Just thinking the same
If you watch the whole video, even after losing weight she seems to have issues walking and has to wear a brace. It may just be the original owners couldn't handle the issue, they may have lived in an apartment without an elevator, etc. Giving a pet to someone who can help when you can't isn't a bad thing and better than the pet being miserable it's entire life.
I love seeing dogs in this situation reach their goal weight ! It's uplifting for us humans who struggle with weight issues too !❤🐾
That poor baby! I'm so glad you helped her! No wonder she felt so miserable. She couldn't do anything! But thanks to those tennis balls!!!! Thank you for helping this beautiful girl! Goldens are awesome dogs, and they are active when they are the right weight! Thank you to The Dodo for all they do also!! GO FRANNIE!!!!!!!!

I'm so thrilled you kept her and never gave up!! She had given up until she met you ❤❤❤
Yay for Frannie! What a good mom and how wonderful to see her progress. ❤❤❤
This brought tears to my eyes. Beautiful dog and beautiful human being. I hope they enjoy a long love filled life together.
Good human , her mission was to save Fannie, and she did a great job, many thanks.
So glad you kept her! I think she would’ve possibly put the weight back on. You wouldn’t let that happen. Thank you for the rescue! 🐾💛🐾
The person responsible for her weight issue should be charged with cruelty as well as the people around her who witnessed it. They're just as responsible. Many people don't deserve pets. So happy she got her life back and is well loved and respected.
Wonderful lady. So glad you kept her. Bless you ❤
I want to cry. Omgoodness. Thank that lady that devoted her time to this dog. Bless you!❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
You are an angel of love and compassion. Thank you for saving her.
There is kindness in our society now if we could be as kind to other people disabled homeless elderly
You made me cry. You are an angel for rescuing and loving this precious pup.
This page is incredible, you see animals that are at either end of the spectrum, either unbelievably skinny with terrible skin, or like this poor thing, over fed and about to explode, and see them brought back to life, literally, their hearts and souls open up. Watching these videos brings me to tears every time. Bless you all. ❤from Downunder 🇦🇺 ♥️

Beautiful video and I'm so glad she ended up adopting her!
Absolutely awful!!! I have never seen a dog this big. How could someone do that to that baby?? 😫
Thank you for saving her. She is beautiful!!! ❤❤
Not being able to say no, generally. Feeding table scraps, free access to food, and all the treats "because [you] love them and how could [you] not?". Seeing these videos are exactly how I can look into the eyes of my Belgian Malinois and say "no". Especially because his breed is prone to arthritis and hip dysplasia. It's better to keep your dog even a wee bit underweight, as it's much easier to give them a little extra food then it is for them to lose weight.
That poor back right hip... bless her heart..
I’ve been following her progress on her Instagram page! She is an angel!
I'm so happy that the lady decided to keep her for herself in her forever home as you could see a remarkable bond between them both 😊😊😊😊
