Noticed the old wooden snowshoes on the side of the book shelves in case you were looking for those Carlos 😂 lovely episode- love that you guys put so much appreciation and love into your “acquisitions”
Oh WOW, your studio is just amazing! My goodness, the height of the ceiling!! What really got my attention was the craftsmanship; how the wooden beams intersect with each other. It will be a wonderful space to work in (especially now that "that THING is going", much to Arne's content, lol). Thank you for letting us in your private working space. I really appreciated it. Love the old suitcases as storage units. ❤
Oh, Arne. You should take your grandmothers basket into the house. It's so beautiful and she would want you to use it and enjoy it. Not let it rot in the shop. Why have it if you won't enjoy it? I use vacuum bags, they are fun Carlos
Wow! You are both so lucky to have this property! If I lived there, I would never want to leave! I would be so happy staying put and working on all kinds of fabulous projects! Thank you for sharing!❤
My mother taught me that once a year, baskets should be soaked for 10 to 15 min in a tub of water. That rehydrate the material they are made so they will last longer. I live in a dry desert, so I've been known to do it twice a year. Yes, you should have that basket in the house and taking care of it.
What caught my attention is how very open and sincere you both are about your progress and moving ahead. For all of us that make plans there is the reality that change comes unexpectedly. We can easily get stuck in it or use the liminal space between now and then to rearrange our priorities. Your positive and realistic aspirations are inspiring. Bravo
Wow.. what a great space for a studio! And Arne, you need that tree decorated year round!! How fun and inspiring it is to have a tree up. I have a small one up in my bedroom and change the decorations on it throughout the year. Even laying balls of yarn on your tree would look great. 😊 🧶
I love how you use old suitcases for storage. So clever! I need to take advantage of vacuum storage bags more than I do. Is that an old painted door back in the back? Sort of where the xmas tree was. It looked pretty. Thanks so much for giving us peeks into various parts of your abode. I appreciate it so much -- the fact that you let us into your private spaces is very generous. Take care, and take your time with your time off from Sit and Knit for a Bit. You guys have been so dedicated through all of the world's craziness.
This studio is filled with so many memories for you both. I'm loving these tours! The tree on its rolling base is genius. I'm wondering about those doors behind you...I'm going to guess you aren't going to use them as actual doors!
I LOVE the wooden table that Arne had his doll house furniture drawings on……so wonderful!! I also love the old suitcases. I do that exact same thing and find them so much more interesting than having a bunch of the plastic bins. I hope you two are enjoying your spring🌸
I like the little red lunch box or at least it’s what it looks like. It’s near the Christmas tree and I believe in a smallish white basket. I can see that being used as a trunk for the clothes of your new dollhouse, dolls. But in my place I would have fabric stamps stored neatly, to make bags for my knitting. Ah guys. Thank you so much for taking us on your creative journey and future plans. I enjoyed your guest house tour and I could just see myself laying in that cozy bed and just peacefully sleeping. Thank you again for letting us in to see how Arne and Carlos live and work.
Thank goodness I'm not the only one with a crowded place with multiple projects in one stage of development or another.. from carpentry to crochet! I feel just fine about it now! Ha! ❤
No wonder you never look at the spinning wheel at the thrift shop! You already have one! On your thrift store episodes, I whisper, " go look at the spinning wheel" :)
The bird cage caught my eye! I used to raise canaries. When I heard their song for the first time, it captivated me! It was difficult to find canaries where I live, so I decided to breed them so others could enjoy their song. My mom and my sister each got a canary from me. I would love to see the birdcage up there on the shelf in your workshop!
The beautiful wooden doors behind the Christmas tree. The wooden snow shoes. Another room beyond the suitcase file storage shelves. An many many other things. LOL 🎉😂 hope your workshop comes along nicely.
I always enjoy the two of you, and your personalities. I probably related more to Arne, and his thinking process. However, you, Carlos are much more centered, and a great match for Arne. Love the way you share your lives and your love of life. I am not good at knitting, but have crocheted most of my life. I also appreciate all of your creative ideas. It is also , great to see all the scenery and places you travel. Take care
The sweaters in the suitcases - fabulous idea and see they are the bags that seal the air out and keep the little critters out also =- loved all the old items with memories - thanks for sharing💕
I noticed the beautiful spinning wheel up on the shelf. It definitely should be loved and used. Also noticed the lazy kate holding the bobbins for the spinning wheel, used for plying yarn. I’m a handspinner so my eyes went to it immediately.
Using old suitcases to hide ugly vacuumed bags, what a nice idea ! Mine are (for now) piled on a shelf - thanks for the inspiration :-) Et un beau bonjour de Montréal.
you both collect the most wonderful items, i love vintage & antiques of most things & seeing the spinning wheel & the bird cage i thought "ohhh aren't they lovely, shame they aren't out on display or being used". the gramophone had me in giggles, they look so alien compared to the modern players, it should be out on display too! ohhh man, then you show us a gorgeous chandelier, stunning! well, have fun in reorganizing your studio/work room (if your guest house is anything to go by, it's going to be stunning) looking forward to seeing the new dollhouse & furniture thanx for sharing
Oooohhh, that bicycle! I covet it….❤. I totally agree on the treadmill--exercising outside is so much more enjoyable. Just put those snowshoes on that are hanging on the side of the cabinet, and off you go !
Arne please take the basket into the house 😊 Carlos I just gave my treadmill away,my husband was getting tired of putting it up and taken it down 😂. I can’t wait to see you begin construction of the new dollhouse. Have a great week ! 🇨🇦
This reminded me of when I was a child and both my grandfathers had sheds with interesting things such as my maternal grandfather had an old organ and an ornate birdcage. :)
I love those old suitcases and the way you use them for storage. And I am looking forward to see your dollhouse-furnitures. I used to make dollhouse food years ago out of polymer clay. I still have a soft spot for minature creations.
Arne, You can save a step in transferring images to wood by using a wax-free transfer paper called Saral. Place it between your copied image and the wood and use a stylus or other hard instrument to trace with. It comes in a sample pack of five different colors as well as rolls 12' x 12" in a single color. It's reusable and easy to erase if necessary. My thanks to you and Carlos for sharing your knowledge and inspirations.
00Oh! I love the idea of using old suitcases for storage. It gave me a great idea on what I could do with all the yarn that I have. Now off to the secondhand store.😊
Hi! What a great tour!! The way you store your woolen balls and sweaters is really smart. In addition, the spinner that you have in the highest shelter is gorgeous. Thank you so much! Best. Carmen
The workbench that Arne has his furniture patterns on! Mine is from my great Uncle whose family was from Hjo, Sweden. Mine houses our audio equipment in the living room. Fun tour! Look forward to more!
It’s lovely to see a creative messy space like mine with way to many fun things to work on. I noticed Arnies old carpenters work bench. What’s the story behind it? I’ll bet it’s a good one. Keep on creating❤
hi guys great to see you i loved you big studio i am glad you showed your suitcases what a great way to store stuff the vacum packs are great i liked the shelf for suitcases well i will see you later take care thanks for takeing us into your lives
I was just starting to type my comment as Carlos was telling people to like and subscribe when I heard Arne say exactly what I was going to type! As you went through your studio, I kept being reminded of all the thrift shops we visited and what treasures you have hidden there! Finding things like that wardrobe for the dollhouse is like getting Christmas gifts every day-a great motivator to keep organizing ❤
I noticed your antique snow shoes !! And I studied how you made those tall wood shelves. I love your bike design too 🎉 when I saw all of the space you have - it made me smile - because I also like “STUFF” and I love to have a big room full of cool “STUFF”.
I love all your collections. So interesting. Funny how many of your things I have collected at one time or another. But not as much as you have. But I love seeing what you have. Thanks for sharing. 😊
Okay, “ I Spy “ 😆 a beautiful wooden object in front of your awesome designer bike, like large wooden spools ? Old fashioned wooden spools for yarn? Really love old objects they used for spinning yarn… And I used an easel like that in my college art classes. You can’t find a better easel even though it is a bit large and cumbersome. 😬😆 Lastly, I am sooooo excited that you are going to make another doll house!!!! That has always been on my “bucket list.” I love love that you are using very old patterns for the chairs. I have some very old magazines, and a very old Spiegel Catalog from like 1949. You’d be surprised what you could buy in those days, appliances, automotives, pianos, mower engines, etc. lol very interesting as a conversation piece;) Thank you!!! Sending much 💕 Mary ^ - ^ 🥰
I love to see how designers and crafters work and set out their studio space. I hope you finish setting up your studio soon, it will make such a positive change to how you work. I love the panelled doors, the colours are beautiful. I must confess that my own studio is a marvellous room but I fill it will books, fabric, yarn and projects. Good storage is essential so storage tips would be most welcome.
I feel so akin to you both as I collect things I love. Even though I just store them. Planning takes time. A whole building as a studio! I have a 24x24 ft. Room. More than most have here in the states. Used to have a closet. Thank you for sharing.
I always travel with vacuum bags. My husband has a small handheld device that provides the suction for the bags. Great way to bring linens and yarn home from our travels!
I really enjoyed the episode! Thank you for the tour, the studio is awesome... very inspirational! And I never imagined it to be so big, perfect for lots of creative activities... What a unique collection of old suitcases! You both
have very eclectic tastes , and I so enjoy when you takes us on tour of all your wondrous items.
Love the mini tour! Makes me smile…so many plans, so many UFOs and so little time! One can never get bored!! Love it! ❤ I can identify 😂

I would like to see Arne's Nana's basket in the house. It needs to be seen and admired.
I LOVE the wooden table that Arne had his doll house furniture drawings on……so wonderful!! I also love the old suitcases. I do that exact same thing and find them so much more interesting than having a bunch of the plastic bins. I hope you two are enjoying your spring🌸
Oh! I had to let the dog out right when you began . . . I came back and for a minute thought you were taking us through a thrift store!
The glass covered stuffed creatures are intriguing. Can't wait to see more!

I'm so glad the dollhouse construction is the next project. I Love your cabinet turned dollhouse.

The beautiful wooden doors behind the Christmas tree. The wooden snow shoes. Another room beyond the suitcase file storage shelves. An many many other things. LOL 🎉😂 hope your workshop comes along nicely.
I noticed the mannequin first, spray bottle, cardboard file boxes, unattached painted doors, pretty white wooden chair and snowshoes. :)
Vacuum seal bags are the best thing ever and have revolutionized my storage capacity!!!!
I loved the little wardrobe that Arne found that you think might be too large for the dollhouse. The color is lovely.
I always enjoy the two of you, and your personalities. I probably related more to Arne, and his thinking process.

From your house to the design studio I can see a trellis archway along the path covered in vines and roses.
Hi ARNECARLOS
What a unique idea to have a suitcase shelf. Amazing. I love it that you both like collecting. Enjoy organising your studio🍀💕
Love the Christmas tree on wheels, so convenient!😀

Oooohhh, that bicycle! I covet it….❤. I totally agree on the treadmill--exercising outside is so much more enjoyable. Just put those snowshoes on that are hanging on the side of the cabinet, and off you go !
Paneling. I cannot wait to see your ideas. Yesterday, I came across a builder’s model home where every wall was paneled. Beautiful.
Everything is wonderful. The bike is the bomb. Nancy Drew would ride a bike like that.
What a treasure trove. This is a fabulous space and the first thing I noticed (and am coveting) is the dress form.
