I was happy to attend the USO Show in Long Binh in 1969. I was with the 1st Cav stationed at Tay Ninh West.

Thanks for posting this. I was with the 62d Engr Bn (Land Clearing) and attended hat Christmas show. It was completely jammed, with easily about 30,000 guys all hooting and hollering in the large amphitheater on Long Binh, as you can both see and hear! I didn't even get a seat until I climbed up the back of the bleachers in the back to watch it from "the gods." Bob Hope was a good man. English born, he became an American legend and an honorary U.S. veteran, via an act of Congress! Troops will always, always remember him.

I was a 24 year old c-130 copilot that flew the Bob Hope show around SEA in 1969... It was a blast meeting Bob Hope and the entourage to include Neil Armstrong

I was in IIFFV 5th/ 2nd AWSP and was sweating my ass off... needed that break. We had a lottery to see who and how many could be there. I spent 2 1/2 consecutive there...69-71. Bob Hope was a Saint... and now he makes God laugh.

I was with the 57th Signal Co. at Long Binh in 1969-70 and I was among the crowd that came to see Bob. Not many good memories of RVN but this is one of them.

His last stop in Vietnam Dec 28-1969, i have Bob on 8mm video just after the show. Im not sure this was 1969 though, because i thought Miss World that year was from India, others included Dean Martins Gold Diggers, and Connie Stevens--God bless Bob Hope he was a Hellva man!!

At the end of this show I was one of the first on stage to get Bob's autograph on my jungle hat. There was a pic that was in the papers with this shot and I've been looking for it ever since. It was either a AP or UP release. The Register in Fon Du Lac, WI had it on the front page. Anybody have any info?

Chet Will Well sir that is not me ;) Her name is Kerry Washington a very talented actress and a beautiful women :)
And I really hope you will find that picture, I'm sure it means a lot to you. As someone who doesn't live in the US ( I'm from Belgium )
I think Bob Hope is a true hero for many who were involved in Vietnam.
I've watched a lot of these shows and I really think they should bring them back for the troops to still laugh even though they are far far away from home.
      Thanks for reading.
