I’m Nia, I’m 22 and I have Scleroderma and in this video, I’m in remission from Multiple Myeloma blood cancer. I will be sharing my story through videos to give my own narrative and educate my community on health issues, like mine.
Scleroderma is a terminal illness that is NOT contagious. This disease can be systemic or localized, when systemic it attacks your internal organs until they begin shutting down one by one. It affects the skin in the beginning or when localized by thickening, hardening and making day to day life difficult by things becoming hard to grasp, skin to skin contact becoming painful and other ways. Eventually, most people’s hands and feet lose function completely. Scleroderma is a very rare disease that affects less than 200,000 people per year. Please please do your research on this disease.‼️‼️

I was asked who are my two caretakers? I’d have to say these two as they spend their money (hundreds and thousands by now honestly) on food and medication, clean up, pay expenses, come stay all night, transportation etc. my roommate worked full time at the beginning of this and when I couldn’t be alone they would come and stay for as long as they needed, amazing.
However i do have others who help when they can, check on me daily and even some who send funds that I acknowledged in this video!
