I've heard the MC5's version, Rage Against the Machine's cover, and now this cover. I must say, this is definitely the best version, in my opinion. Daniel's voice sounds great on it.
it is very rare to see silverchair covers a song..... this rules! and the people who says they play it wrong that is beacause it is a COVER and they have their own style. they doesn't have to do the same as the original.
@gunsnroses742 well you cant possibly keep that voice forever..i love this stage too dont get me wrong, but im glad they evolved..ive grown with them. I love his voice now soo much!
That was a surprisingly good cover of that tune... generally, I think that covers of KOTJ are anemic, but he manages to bring some of the rage of the original... I guess he understand anger and frustration after the health problems he had... good job
Oh my fucking god! I'm fucking speechless. I will never listen to that song by the MC5 ever ever ever again. I feel kind of sick. What nerve these idiots have. Holyshit! Now, I hope Jessica Simpson does a cover of this song. Oh my fucking god.
Good god. Every time someone does a cover, people get butthurt. It's an HONOR to have other popular bands wanting and willing to play YOUR songs live. Not to mention they're having fun up there. They live to do that. Goes for every band. Besides, arguing against others that this version sounds better or sounds like shit is impossible because it all comes down to entirely opinion.
@gunsnroses742 You do realize this was probably recorded back in the late 90's when they were at there peak? This was just pretty much his live sound. I think it kicks ass. Great cover.
that guitar hes using is the one he uses for paint pastel princess, spawn again, without you, and emotion sickness, and its tuned in Db Ab Db Ab Db Db tuning so its all flat in the song.
I am not a fan of Silverchair, or Daniel Johns. But he and his band are respectable musicians, if you know anything about musicianship and artistry. Props.
I disagree. I've seen Rage's version as well. Rage pretty much did exactly what Silverchair did. The only reason it sounded original is because Tom Morello threw in one of his crazy guitar solos in the middle. But Daniel didn't really know how to solo at his age so everything from 2:15 to 2:40 is Silverchair style. I'm making the argument that Silverchair DID make it their own.
Hey I know why dont all the grunge bands that played this song join up for a new supergrunge group? :) CALL IT GRUNGE JAM :) - Pearl Jam - Silverchair - Rage Against The Machine - Audioslave =) anything that has to do with Street Sweepers Social Club. I think Rages last album: Renegades influenced this song: Kick out the jams is making every grunge 90s band wanna play it too
why was he so "shy" and "nervous" in interviews and in public...but on stage here he's confident, boisterous and..."consider yourselves lucky!!" ..arrogant.
I have also seen this with Pearl Jam feat. Steve Turner and Mark Arm from Mudhoney. That fuking rocked most of them all.. But I still likes RATM's best
yeah he used to be such a great grungy singer, now he just doesn't have it:D :D:D:D I guess he gave up drinking, and all social habits. o man, what 's wrong with you !? being ironic, by the way
@allnightjohnson... So you are a "arbiters of cool" just because you "work" in the business?! ... You said that 4 years ago, and you problably are a big boy now! You don't shit like that these days! lol
ha! its better than Zack singing it. and for the record zack cant even sing... not that i hate RATM, i love that band to death. just not them covering this song
I've heard the MC5's version, Rage Against the Machine's cover, and now this cover.
I must say, this is definitely the best version, in my opinion. Daniel's voice sounds great on it.
great cover the 29 people who dislike don't know how to kick out the jams
Ahh- I love these boys, no matter what they do!
Hey! As an old MC 5 fanatic I gotsta say, this is pretty damn cool. Brother Wayne would be proud...
Ben and Chris were and are KILLER too
it is very rare to see silverchair covers a song.....
this rules!
and the people who says they play it wrong that is beacause it is a COVER and they have their own style. they doesn't have to do the same as the original.
I listened to this and Rage's version and I must say Silverchair tops it in my book.
@gunsnroses742 well you cant possibly keep that voice forever..i love this stage too dont get me wrong, but im glad they evolved..ive grown with them. I love his voice now soo much!
AMAZING!!!
he sings this so well
Really really good!!
amaaaaaazing!
Yea boy! So nice had to watch it twice! SILVERCHAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOVE
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawesome! Great COVER!! Kick'em out!!!!
That was a surprisingly good cover of that tune... generally, I think that covers of KOTJ are anemic, but he manages to bring some of the rage of the original... I guess he understand anger and frustration after the health problems he had... good job
great cover....nice solo ...
Daniel owns my heart...
POWER FULL
Not a Silverchair enthusiast but I love MC5 and the vocals are cut really well
muy buen cover de silverchair, una pena que tal ves el publico que va a ver a silverchair no lo haya apreciado
Oh my fucking god! I'm fucking speechless. I will never listen to that song by the MC5 ever ever ever again. I feel kind of sick. What nerve these idiots have. Holyshit! Now, I hope Jessica Simpson does a cover of this song. Oh my fucking god.
Rock and roll. The MC5 WOULD APPROVE.
NOW LETS KICK EM OUT
Good god. Every time someone does a cover, people get butthurt. It's an HONOR to have other popular bands wanting and willing to play YOUR songs live. Not to mention they're having fun up there. I absolutely love both RATM and Silverchair, and I think both versions are great. Different, but great
oh ya they murdered this
the best band ......
It’s fun hearing Daniel say “baby”
detroit rocks in australia, motorcity 5 the home of rock and roll
that guitar hes using is the one he uses for paint pastel princess, spawn again, without you, and emotion sickness, and its tuned in Db Ab Db Ab Db Db tuning
so its all flat in the song.
I like Hellacopters version bloody damn much, but this is quite nice too :)
I've heard this song covered by many different bands but never have I heard MC5 play anything.
Yeah
DANIEL JOHNS IS A ROCK GOD!!!!!!
nothing will ever beat the original band.
@neon2modern It's a cover. The original is from mc5, Rage Against The Machine covered it as well.
@gunsnroses742 because he matured...now he's a REAL musician
This covers real good, don't get me wrong but I still think the Rage one is the beastliest of all.
I am not a fan of Silverchair, or Daniel Johns.
But he and his band are respectable musicians, if you know anything about musicianship and artistry.
Props.
so good as the original one.
or better if you like silverchair
good..
I disagree. I've seen Rage's version as well. Rage pretty much did exactly what Silverchair did. Has every grunge band covered this song?! Mudhoney and Pearl Jam, Rage against the Machine isn't grunge but they covered it, and this band too.
Just my opinion but I think Daniel is 1 of the best frontmen.
Keith Hoggatt you said it well: it‘s just your opinion
@@johnny150480 no it’s not only his opinion. Douchbag
this is just amazing stop judging
thats pretty good, better than rage against white-eee
Hey I know why dont all the grunge bands that played this song join up for a new supergrunge group? :) CALL IT GRUNGE JAM :)
- Pearl Jam
- Silverchair
- Rage Against The Machine
- Audioslave =) anything that has to do with Street Sweepers Social Club.
I think Rages last album: Renegades influenced this song: Kick out the jams is making every grunge 90s band wanna play it too
he sounded like marilyn manson when he said kick out the jams motherfuckers!
@chrisissince1985 Daniel Johns doesn't have to practice. He just knows.
This is over RATM's head. I am a rage fan btw.
nvm, i change my mind, this ones the best lmao.
I admit he does look pretty wierd with that costume, but dont judge silverchair by their clothes. They have some awesome rock riffs up theyre sleeves.
where do you think i could get an mp3 of this?
Kick Out The Chairs :)
The Silverchairs
Hmmm....
I guess this prensentaion better than original... Yeah Silverchair... They don't imitate but irritate...
Respect these guys ok!!!
I like Silverchair and I like Rage, but I like Silverchair's version better.
Ahhh!!! I prefer most Rage Against the Machines's cover!!!
why was he so "shy" and "nervous" in interviews and in public...but on stage here he's confident, boisterous and..."consider yourselves lucky!!" ..arrogant.
it's just not right rage did a pretty good job cause they made it there own siverchair just played the notes right u dig?
your right... but i think theyve gotten better audiences now..hehe
I love it! Great cover. The original is way better though...
From 1 to 10 it ranks a 5.
@msrysignals so if he stuck to grunge he wouldn't be a real musician? That's weird, I think he was always a real musician but that's just me.
it's not doing it for me either, but the parts about how the fans should consider themselves lucky for the encore is hilarious.
Beeswax, like damn, he clearly was joking around with that “consider yourself lucky”comment.
but Rage made a cover of this song too boca de burro
nevermind. is mc5
@jclilly really?
ha ha ha fucking nirvana part 4
hm pretty good
I have also seen this with Pearl Jam feat. Steve Turner and Mark Arm from Mudhoney. That fuking rocked most of them all..
But I still likes RATM's best
thats way over the top mate, even by my standards i think that was out of order.
is this an original song?
No, MC5 wrote it and released it in 1969.
...or MC5...? Lol
yeah he used to be such a great grungy singer, now he just doesn't have it:D :D:D:D I guess he gave up drinking, and all social habits. o man, what 's wrong with you !?
being ironic, by the way
well, its better than RATM's version..
They wish they were Nirvana so bad.
oh yeah so not a fan then why are you even watching this?
Rockin. Dont care waht you wanks think. Not bad at all.
.....are you serious?
sorry to upset you real rocker
RATM's version is amazing. the energy it gives off is uncomparable. the singer sounds like he needs hooked on phonics for christ's sake.
I say it is... The mc5 version sounds very sloppy and all over the place.
@allnightjohnson... So you are a "arbiters of cool" just because you "work" in the business?! ... You said that 4 years ago, and you problably are a big boy now! You don't shit like that these days! lol
obviously you havn't seen then live, nor heard Diorama.
Such ignorance.
Silverchair cover>>>>>>>MC5
SHAME HE BLOWS THE LYRICS
Only the MC5 should be allow to play Kick out the jams..
the bad brains version is alot better than this
They screw up the basic riff. Bad.
@gunsnroses742 THat's what happens when you destroy your vocal chords.
jeff buckley version is so much better than this and ratm's version.
This better than the MC5? No.
Not in a billion years.
nice try kids
ha! its better than Zack singing it. and for the record zack cant even sing... not that i hate RATM, i love that band to death. just not them covering this song
not bad for a bunch of girls
meh....
What a horrible cover of Blue Oyster Cult.
Yeah... not that great but hey, nice try.
wtf!!!!!!!!!!
this sucks man......
