I'm curious about his practicing/being coached background. Looks to me nearly impossible he's done this 'straight from the Brazil'. It's much easier when you live and practice in, say, Germany, or Japan. This isn't entering into top100 or top50 ITTF, this is a top notch TT. Chinese players do wonders to get to this level, they don't get there 'out of nowhere'.
DUDE, this is the best quality that I have ever seen (but yet again: cutting out the player's hand shake). Anyone else saw Calderano's patterns: playing parallel, playing into the body and mixing up timing on the contacts?
Fantastic match. Never saw Fan having so many problems. And who thought his BH is unbeatable saw Calderanos even better BH. Fist time I see a player (besides Ma Long at is best) actually fighting FZD, not trying to survive. Just awesome Calderano, you got him and made him play uncomfortable.

Gute Aufschläge, durchgehend aktive Rückschläge. Mit den parallel gespielten RH Topspins hat er FZD mehrmals überrascht, aber auch die VH auf den Körper war klasse. Tolles Spiel.
I watched this match a few times and I must confirm that Hugo was better this time. And thanks of his skills he won with no 1 , FZD. Impossible is possible .

Big deception for me, a big fan of FZD and LJK. They made me realize that in table tennis world, nobody can stay a winner forever, because this sport is so fast and needs so much focus and accuracy that if you didn't have enough rest or you're mentally weaker for any reason on that day, you can lose easily. Hugo showed his strength and he deserves the win. I never see FZD having such difficulty to return his opponent's powerful attacks until this match. But I believe he will find the way to defeat him at their next encounter, like the way he did with Dima.
What a battle. The new balls have made the backhand a viable primary weapon as they now play closer to the table, no time to turn, no real backhand is a real threat to your matches, enter Harimoto and Calderano. The backhand attack can hide directions so well that players with a natural propensity to the backhand are now on the march. Amazing.
The new camera angle featured in this video is fantastic. I personally would recommend this angle for as high as 1/4 of all points played. It's such a refreshing change from the norm and shows alot more the players how they are moving around while contorting their bodies.

I observed four things that probably made Calderano win this epic match. 1. He was very tactful on short ball placing. 2. His execution of the "ripping" backhand surprised FZD in many instances. 3. He exploited FZD on so many cross-over points that left FZD with no time to react. 4. He committed the least forced and unforced errors. ORRRR.... Fzd was struggling mentally.
SANA SHY SHY SHY it’s also why he had no chance against harimoto. Fan should watch that match, harimoto never gets caught out of position. Against the Chinese, harimoto has a horrible game, but against Hugo and most of the Europeans, he has a much better game. Harimoto doesn’t have as good of a forehand that he looks to step around constantly, Hugo’s placement confused Fan a lot

I observed four things that probably made Calderano win this epic match.
1. He was very tactful on short ball placing.
2. His execution of the "ripping" backhand surprised FZD in many instances.
3. He exploited FZD on so many cross-over points that left FZD with no time to react.
4. He committed the least forced and unforced errors.
ORRRR.... Fzd was struggling mentally.
SANA SHY SHY SHY it’s also why he had no chance against harimoto. Fan should watch that match, harimoto never gets caught out of position. Against the Chinese, harimoto has a horrible game, but against Hugo and most of the Europeans, he has a much better game. Harimoto doesn’t have as good of a forehand that he looks to step around constantly, Hugo’s placement confused Fan a lot
@@uchihadayne6506 If beating Ma Long, ZJK (twice), FZD, LGY, Zhou Yu (twice) and Wang Chuqin (twice) means having a horrible game against the Chinese, then i don't know what having a good game against the Chinese looks like.
And he served illegally for most of the match!

Great performance of Hugo. Hugo outplayed Fan on so many points. Hugo is simply the smarter player in this match
