The L800SDA speakers do have a more active bass output but it didn't seem overwhelming during our demonstrations. Seemed to still be well balanced with the midrange and high frequencies that made it to our ears.
Oh wow! You have one of the original series SDA speakers??? I wish we could help you find a replacement tweeter for them. I recommend contacting Polk Audio's support using 800-377-7655 to see if they can help you locate one
Sorry but i cannot believe these sound better than the original SDAs with their multiple drivers going all the way down to 18 hz . plus the choice of 2, 4,6 and eight mid/drivers with half as many tweeters was unbeatable . the bass was lighting fast and clean .
i gave them to my son years ago when i moved to Europe . not to be rude but the current model is a bit gimmicky with the angled top part and the speed of the bass comes into question with those big drivers and bottom port . Back in 1985 when i bought them my friend who was a recovering Audiophile came to my house at my request to scoff at my new SDAs .he listened for ten minutes , got into his truck and drove three hours round trip to buy the next size up .😂
hat's a good testament to their build quality!! And compliment on your system. It must have been one nice sounding system! What receiver did you run with it? Was it also given to your son to run them?
I believe you are referring to the SDA cable that needs to connect from one speaker to the other. That cable is what really allows the speakers to get the audio meant for the other one so the SDA array can get the audio they need to work properly. Feel free to contact an advisor to discuss this in greater detail. Here's how to reach us for this help: www.crutchfield.com/I-rYTVc227/support/ContactUs.aspx
I've heard the L800, and they sound like there's a wet blanket over them. They're a flop just like the LSiM 707s. My favorite Polk speakers are the Polk RTiA 9 because of how accurate they sound in my treated room.
@@sthr2110 what Macintosh model did you use to power these L800’s? Everyone says they are hard to drive. I’ve heard different opinions from multiple people on what they felt was best. I’m not looking to buy multiple Amps in hopes that I find the Right one. One Reviewer recommended the Pro-ject MaiA S2 with the Specs: Power output: 2x 25W/38W at 8 ohms/4 ohms (5%THD) only $650… I’m an 80’s Rock person and want my system to Crank, so I want the Best or Right Amp to work at the levels I expect. Macs are really expensive and if I can find a good quality amp in the range of $1,500 to $2,500 it would be great.
Amazing speakers.
If you haven’t experienced the SDA technology for yourself you’re missing out.
POLK❤️ is in zone on this line.
Merhaba sizce polk s-60 mı sinama HAPARLÖRÜ olarak güzel yoksa triangle br09 mu güzel hangisi sizce sinema hissiyatı verir iyi günler dilerim
Awesome looking speakers, will be taking a close look at this product line.
Wow, those look really nice. Lol those tweeters are gonna be kid magnets tho... "hey, how do those joysticks work"
Thanks from İstanbul.
We are happy to help anytime!🥰
I would love to hear these one day!
They are truly a delight to hear in person!
@@crutchfield I bet
@@crutchfield how are these in comparison to the 707s ?
How does the sound of L800's compare to the SRS 1.2TL? They don't seem to have the same bass extension, at least by the numbers.
Is there a big difference in bass response from the 600 vs 800 towers?. I have a relatively small / mid size room 16x12.

Can we use normal stereo amp for this speaker to works?
We're happy to check! Which speaker model do you have in mind? What amp do you hope to use?
Can you please tell, polk L600 can pair with Marantz PM7000n .
Yes! That integrated amplifier would work well for those speakers!
Maybe after retirement lmao I wish I could afford these.
I still have my SDA 2 in my basement for over 4 years. Because i need to replace a damaged tweeter.

Sounds like you know your Polk speakers! Are you still using an older Stereo Dimensional Array model?

i used a Carver M1 amp and a parasound preamp .
Wait. need to talk more about the actual cable but you didn’t go into detail. What is it actually do?

I don't know these speakers look like they'll blow your speakers out of the room. Lol!
I didn't detect even a hint of what you're describing when I listened to them (powered by McIntosh). They were remarkable.
@@sthr2110 You hear that? He's got a treated room. Whoopty fuckin' doo.

Two 10 woofer should get lower than 24hz in my opinion.
Playing low is different then playing low AND sounding good while doing it!
Супер 👍
Went with cerwin vega e715.
These Cerwin Vega speakers are amazing, I have a pair too
no foam base ...not good
