Amorphis is one of the first big metal bands from Finland, and they took Finnish metal tone to it's own path and made our metal scene distinct from the rest of Northern Europe. 30+ years of music with a huge backbone of Finnish mytology and stories from our culture and our national epic Kalevala. It's a long and twisty road but a one really worth looking into. For me Tomi Joutsen, their current singer, is one of the best voices in Finnish metal and lead guitarist Esa Holopainen one of few who can make the guitar weep in metal without exessive shredding. This band keeps on giving year after year.
Well Amorphis is kind of mainstream in Finland. I heard this song for the first time on a national radio station...
Yes, in Finland radios do play bands like Sentenced, Amorphis, Nightwish. And boy it's a good thing.❤
well, this song is. But the OG, proper, Amorphis of Karelia Isthmus, Tales, and Elegy, they are not playing on radio.

@@revylokesh1783 ImpNaz is not on regular daytime rotation, but you can hear them on couple of stations in the evenings in special programs.
Amorphis is one of my Top3 bands ever, started listening to them back in the days when Tales from a thousand lakes came out, back in the early 90th. Never heard something like that before and i was pulled into these beautiful harmonics but with heavy guitars and gutural singing voice. Normaly a band can parish if the singer leaves, but in this case, the best thing that could happen to them is that the old singer left and Tomi joined the band. Saw them live over a dozend times and i'm amazed every single time, that he can switch from his clean vocals to the growls in a second. Hell of a liveband.

I've been meaning to start a Get Eric on the Amorphis Train campaign, kudos to whoever suggested them! Saw them live the evening before Nightwish last year, they were amazing. In my opinion, Tomi and Floor are the top two metal vocalists.
Esa Holopainen's solo project is great too, but there is a tremendous Amorphis catalogue to get into first!

I will be seeing Amorphis next fall at ProgPower in Atlanta. The last three bands on Friday will be Soen, followed by the US debut of Lovebites, followed by Amorphis. A fantastic trio of bands. Only about 9 more months to wait.
I came to Amorphis late, in 2009 with their album Skyforger. They quickly became one of my favorite bands though 🤘
Skyforger is maby the most underrated song in their lineup, it's still my favourite song by them, but heavily competited by The Bee

It's one of the bedrocks of Finnish heavier metal, grossly underappreciated outside Finland. They have a long history and back catalog, and they never sold themselves short. It's always been done to a high standard.
And from the same album... The Bee. Amorphis has been around for a long time and is still fresh!!!

I saw them live last week! Great band. Anneke was on a backing track and on the screen in this song and it worked well. I love that Esa Holopainens lead guitar work also. It's a stad out in most of their songs.

This band has such an insane range, so many great songs. For me "The Bee" is amongst their absolute best songs, which really showcases Tomi's vocals. In fact that is not quite true, The Bee is simply one of the best metal songs of all time. Check it out, even if you don't react to it.
Another great collab by Anneke, her voice is so distinct
This band is one of the big ones in Finland for sure
Amorphis has a great variety in their catalogue, with a lot of different influences and several style changes throughout their career. But somehow one is always able to tell it's their music. I have seen them live twice, the second time only last month, they were incredible, just as good live as on the recording, if not better.
