The pac 12 was underrated because a lot of east coast fans and writers couldn’t stay up late at night to watch their games. The pac 12 teams all had to travel long distances on a regular basis as well. I don’t think a lot of the B1G teams are acclimated to that kind of travel yet.
Right cause USC, Washington, and UCLA had stellar transitions lol. Oregon is an exception, not the rule, as far as pac-12 teams transitioning to the big 10.
@ and? Did I isolate them to make a case that the pac-12 sucks like the original post is isolating Oregon to act like all of the pac-12 made a solid transition? lol
Tough loss. If you would have told me PSU would put up 37 and run for almost 300 yards I would have taken it in a second. The Oregon Offense is out of its tree. Oregon played a flawless offensive game. The only mistake was Gabriels' fumble, but he recovered it. No mistakes really by Oregon. If PSU get that fumble could have changed things, but he was able to get it. Just goes to show how close some of these games are. Congrats to Oregon, they deserved to win. Both defenses need to play a lot better going forward though.
This was Oregon’s 2nd worst performance on defense this season. They played horrible but made plays when it counted. I agree they got 2 weeks to figure things out and fix it.
in a rematch PSU wins big time. Refs won that game for the Ducks. a 12th player in black and white. No calls at all and there was a lot of holding and foul talk/play. Bullies. Not impressed. Johnson was was truly impressive in this game.
Thought the exact same thing. I walked away more impressed with Penn State. (We already knew how good Oregon is lol) But the fact that PSU hung in there offensively with them. Their fans should feel great going into the Playoff
Love your breakdown of the Oregon Ducks, this isn't Chip Kelly's team or Cristobals,. It's Lannings team, he's building a team with the west coast offense combined with the SEC defense
I think the point about only tempo being effective against the Penn State's defense is a big one. It's probably necessary to use tempo if you want to have a good chance against them. At a couple points in the game, when Oregon was up by two scores, you saw they tried to slow things down on offense and burn some clock, but the Penn State defense was all over them instantly. Also, big credit to their offense. It was highly effective. Penn State's A-game is damn good.
Wins count, bad comments on Social Media don’t. I will say this, 🦆 Quack! We love this new Neighborhood. Your Fans Are so confused and Angry. That’s why Children should not get Participation Trophies. They grow up poor sports when their teams lose.
Holding on Adbul Carter so many times. That helped Oregon quite a bit. Credit to Oregon but refs - 0 holding calls is ridiculous. PSU belongs. Oregon is great on O. Refs missed a catch and didn't review - called incomplete. Lots of things that could have gone PSU way.
Nobody is saying anything about the fact that Penn State could have taken a bus to Lucy’s Oil Stadium if they had chose, and Oregon traveled 3 time zones (2,500 miles) Oregons defense was sluggish by comparison to their norm! Yes PSU running game was great, but there were other factors in play that nobody is paying any attention to. This was basically a home game for Penn State. Had Oregon lost this game, that’s all we would be talking about.
If D Harmon doesn’t commit that dumb ass penalty, PSU would have had to punt and Ducks get great field position and score. This game should have been 15+ points. Hats off to PSU but I think they sold and gave everything they had and this game was never as close as the score indicates. If Ducks played a complete game on defense it would have been over by the 3rd quarter.
Like I said the refs won that game for Oregon. watch the tapes. Not a single holding call or any kind of call. Ducks played dirty and unsportsmanlike. It was ugly.
Both teams where holding, and your players where the ones doing all the talking. Oregon doesn’t talk smack to other teams, I’ve been watching all year.
In the 4th quarter you could see penns offense was winded, hard. The last couple of drives, poor poor Tyler was just joggin his routes, they were wiped out Good game though, that was fun!! FEBU!!!
The claim that Oregon played with tempo breaks down the moment you look at the game again. So please review the game so you don't claim things that are not factually true. There were plays, actually few, where there was 30 seconds on the play clock left. In the first half, there was like 2 of those. Here are the play clock seconds left when ball was snapped on the first drive when Penn St D was "really tired": 9, 11, 14, 27, 20, 3, 10, 2. ... 1 tempo play out of 8 ! Practically all the drives were like this. Here is the 2nd drive seconds left: 15, 15, 5, 8, 9, 7, 30, 12, 31, 8. So 2/10 were tempo plays! 3rd drive: 11, 16, 16, 15, 25, 6, 4. That is 1/7 ! We can go on drive by drive, it all has this form. So how can you claim that Oregon played with tempo, when their tempo plays were only about 15% of all plays? So are you saying that a team plays 1 tempo play in a drive of 10 plays, that is playing up tempo? Penn St was exhausted. But not because of the tempo, but because Oregon was faster, methodical, executing long drives.
In the 4th quarter you could see penns offense was winded, hard. The last couple of drives, poor poor Tyler was just joggin his routes, they were wiped out Good game though, that was fun!! FEBU!!! Game was over after 1st quarter

Fuggin frustrating. They made Harrington play a shit Colorado team instead of the title game. Man

Best team in the country 💯
Still on cloud 9! B1G Champs 🏆 Go Ducks! 🦆
The Ducks’ receivers seemed to be running at 1.25X speed on my iPad they were so fast.

Well when you’re playing a soft zone, it’s not hard
I was absolutely impressed with my Nittany Lions 🦁 offensive line, 290 yards rushing and over 500 total yards, and barely any pressure on Drew!!!!
You guys have a great team! Better than any sec team. Qb is your weak link tho

By far their lowest team defensive grade of the season with a 62.4
