What Makes A Mission Statement Good (or Bad)?

Sooner or later, every business or organization needs to wrestle with and define what their mission is. But how do you know if yours is a good one? Or if it needs to be changed? So my vision is to make Indian kitchens safe(harmful-chemical free food) , nutritious and organic and transform the farming landscape. Indian Farmers today really suffer.
1. How is the quoted statement as a vision statement. Or is it more of a mission statement?
2. It passes the a. simple test, b. Outlines what we do(does not explain), but is it short and operative enough?
3. Can the mission and vision statement be the same?

First of all I would like to thank you for posting, this time saving advises. I came to your page because I have to do a presentation On this core concepts . What I found was, we need to understand how they came to be used in context to business . You talk about e.g what the word mission means it’s definition, how its used in every day language. I thought about it but was not to sure if I should use that approach I feel I have the green light now.
