I used to work in a framing shop, I would say our best quality wooden moulds, for an art piece that size would be around that price. It sounds like a lot but as you say it is an art form in itself and definitely worth it when you think how much better protected your work will be and how awesome it will look!

Joe quick and easy black out / temporary curtain. Get a water mist bottle and spray it lightly on the window. Then put runs of tin foil over the window. The tin foil will just stick to the window. Also keeps the heat in. Bonza!
Covers for the LR windows , try a caravan store for black or silver insulated window covers you can buy with suction cups to the glass or magnets or even velcro, Wanna go cheap buy silver radiator reflectors from B&Q and adapt your own, Note the suction cups leave marks on the glass GRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !
Black out /tint the back windows black & for the front windows you can buy covers or magnetic thermal blinds. Re the lights, the bulb/led/strip doesn't spin around by any chance 🤷🏼♀️ so then the cable can go to the back 🤔

My parents own an interior design studio and let me tell you - the price of the frame for an art piece that size is quite normal! Especially if you chose one made out of real wood (or even more expensive materials) and also a glass pane to protect the piece. Always keep in mind that custom pieces of art demand custom pieces of frame. There's quite literally a bunch of guys who sit down to "produce" a frame exactly in the way you imagined it to be. Hang it with pride. Love from Germany!
Make your own frame! A perfect fitting 🔲 is difficult to make. (How the hell im i gonna explain this…….) I put the art on a bigger piece of wood so that the sides that stick out from under your art piece are the same size, and then I glue wooden bars on the edges, I have used new wood, old wood, painted wood, burned wood and even 🎲 or 🪵 or even paint stiring sticks as a frame! And in that way it is a whole art piece by you! One time I made a black and white art piece but the frame was neon orange/pink! So cool! Edit: I never ever used glas in a frame…….so that is of course a whole different thing! My way is easy, that’s why I do it like that 😇😬
Made my own corner light with remote controlled led strip from amazon and buying the metal upright and stand from, I can't remember where now. I'm sure there are videos somewhere!

The bulbs are supposed to face the wall so that the wall glows with that color, but it doesn’t show the light the Black strip face into the room.
