... Hold up, Geega did you actually pick your name based on the little flying enemies in Metroid? I always thought it was just a coincidence but I didn't know you were a Metroid fan until now. 🤔
What if another Hololive Vtuber was nominated? A Vtuber from Japan, like Pekora. If it was Sakura Miko, than it would be a tough choice between her and Usada Pekora.
With all the changes to camera and combat they did, it did make it feel more like one since is less struggle to dealing with the enemies and the camera compared to the original.
This is why I disagree with the DLC not being able to win game of the year, it's just a technicality that is used to discredit what can easily be the best game of the year.
A good counterargument I saw was "how many DLCs release in a year at that scale and quality?" I agree it feels weird to have a DLC win GOTY, but realistically most years the "best DLC" category would be one DLC completely curbstomping all the runners-up. EDIT: Nvm Geega literally mentioned this exact point in the video, I just commented too early.
Just because you want it to be considered for more awards doesn't make it a game. As someone who doesn't own Elden Ring, I cannot buy Shadow of the Erdtree and play it... I would first have to buy Elden Ring, play Elden Ring, then i would be at the point of considering to buy and play SoET. It's not marketed as it's own game. You can't play it on its own. You can't even buy it without first owning the base game. This is the definition of a DLC, not a game, and DLC are not games, especially SoET. There are some games that go out of there way to make DLC more excessible to new players, but that's never been FromSoftwares formula, nor does it remotely apply to SoET.
But isn't a game. It is extra content for a game that already existed. There goes so much effort in making a game from the ground up and a dlc just uses the already existing engine, game design, lore etc. Shadow of the Erdtree is great because it is part of an already great game. It is impossible to evaluate it in vacuum.
I was going to vote, but then saw that most categories were just the same 6 games over and over..
Also the fact that 100% of the fan votes only makes up 10% of the total votes. Makes me wonder if there even is a point.

Balatro sweep
GAME AWARDS! Pekora is definitely winning due to her being Kojima’s favorite, and will demolish Geoff on stage if she doesn’t.
I rather her win but this is just the American GOTY so I doubt she would. She has the best content by far.
i mean how many times are they gonna remake ff7 lets be honest
Silent Hill 2 is not action adventure…
