Natalie, that’s got to be a warm job for your dad! Please keep him something cold to drink and please keep a fire extinguisher very close! What would be cool is to heat a branding iron and brand “21” inside each box before wax dipping. Thanks for the video.
Did not know you had filmed this video until it popped up on RUclips for me to see. Don't know if you have captions available or a transcript so we can watch and read along with your presentation here. The sounds of the wax melter was loud to me having trouble hearing all of your words. I just only got two or two three here and there, but liked the content very much.Glad to see you advance in the world of Beekeeping and posting your experiences on RUclips. Keep up the good work.🐝
Best of luck Nat, Hope you and the Family are doing good. Love wax dipped Boxs. They are so much better then paint and last longer and also the BEEs love it. Been busy here also. Honey house and shed are done. This next week will be last build inspection and health inspection. The last cells looks like only 4 didnt come back mated ftw. Had to set them in 10 framers saturday because they had filled the 6 framers already with eggs larva and honey. other hives are on a 3rd box and dropped to single broods. so far all is on target for Winter with them.
Great job Natalee! You are banging the beekeeping skills quickly. Keep it up. My take on dipping… nothing as exciting to find you have a small hole in your glove 🧤 while holding a scorching hot box.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say your dad is not enjoying that at all haha, but I'm sure it does beat painting. I will set my operation up like this eventually. Great video thanks!
I have started to waxdipp my boxes too. I did my first try a few months ago. I like it. Here in Sweden waxdipping is not common at all. I might be the only one... I bought my kit from a greek guy. I also burn my outside of my boxes for killing of fungusspors and bacteria. It is really so good seeing you doing theese videos. You have a bright future ahead of you. (As a teacher I like your parents support of you 😉🥰)
Awesome that your uncle got the dipping tank for you all. Do you know where he purchased and how much a tank like that costs? Thanks for a great video.
They were a BBQ high temp glove but he still had to wear a second set of gloves underneath them because it got so hot. We are going to need to find something else. Yes, we will also dip the bottom boards and covers. We just need to get them built.
Thanks! Unfortunately the tank was a one time custom build through a family connection. We do glue the joints, we use tightbond 3. The wax does not affect the glue. Kamon Reynolds did a video awhile back testing the theory too.
Can you & your dad give us the dimensions of your tank? Is the bottom flat or recessed into the tank? Where did you order your wax from? Just started watching your videos today and sent a link to my granddaughter in Texas.
The tank is 2 x 2 foot wide and 3 feet tall. The bottom is flat. We ordered are wax locally to avoid paying shipping and bought it from DPS Wax. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
It was awesome being able to help dip boxes, thank you.
Thanks for all the help😁
If you had some sort of grate to set them on with a pan underneath you could save all the wax that drips off. Thanks!
Great job, Natalie. I am hard of hearing, but love your video. Could you please consider using an external microphone to help me. Thanks
Wouldn't it be easier to dip the woodenware before you assemble it? You could fit more in the tank that way. Harder to fish out, though.

A branding iron is a very cool idea! Thank you watching Don!

There is a guy in FL that is still using his once waxed boxes 20+ years later.

Great job Natalee! You are banging the beekeeping skills quickly. Keep it up.
My take on dipping… nothing as exciting to find you have a small hole in your glove 🧤 while holding a scorching hot box.
That’s very interesting ... you did a very good job 👍🏻
Great video again thank you 🐝
Thank you!
Great job on the dipping. Nice to have an uncle to help with the tank. Good job Dad!
Thanks!
I've purchased a couple dipped unassembled supers but I like your method of dipping after assembly better.
👍💛✌🤗
My tank looks a lot like yours, I've been dipping for a few years now. You are going to love those boxes!
Nice!

Thank you!

Thank you!
Very good job, young lady. My granddaughter is your age and watches your videos now. Keep up the good work!

Haha. It was hot and messy but it beats painting any day! 😂

Thank you very much!
Are you using kamon’s recipe?
Yes
Awesome that your uncle got the dipping tank for you all. Do you know where he purchased and how much a tank like that costs?
Thanks for a great video.
My Uncle has a friend that is really good at welding and he custom built it for us. Any local welding shop should be able to make you one.
@@BeekeepingWithNatalee - Awesome! Good to know. Thanks so much! 😃
Another great video Natalie . Do you mind sharing the dimensions for the tank? Also can you share send me where you got the wax
Looks great, what gloves did your dad use when handling the box’s. Also are you going to dip the bottom board and cover?

Awesome!! How thick are the walls on that tank?
My Dad says its 16 gauge, if that helps
Did you build the dipping box or buy it from somewhere?

Great video Natalie! Do you have a link for that tank? Also, do you glue the joints of your boxes, and if so how does the hot wax affect it?

8 days, where is your life jacket LOL? Sorry couldn't resist. Love dating our boxes and frames.
