Apparently, I’ve been doing this all WRONG! Either I haven’t seen this explanation of the “correct” backswing sequence so simply described, or I just never understood the backswing sequence. I’m gonna go with the latter probably being the case. Either way, I NOW understand it due to your exemplary communication/explanation skills…THANK YOU👍🏼 I just hit about a dozen balls into my net using one of those sequin low point indicator mats and hit the SAME SPOT 10/12x’s after watching this video! Bravo sir. Bravo!
Hey Russell, looking for some pointers on release. Mostly involving wrists. Ulnar release as well as trail wrist flexion. I know a lot of people say hope your tail wrist all the way through impact but doesn't create much speed or height for me.
Russell - I am a 59 year old who still plays to a 3 hcp with a shoulder plane that I know is too flat. I make up for this with good hand-eye ability. It’s the only thing that saves me. When I get my shoulders properly tilted with good sequencing, it feels great. But a decent percentage of the time, I stick the club in the ground and hit it fat. My miss with my too flat shoulders is thin, hardly ever hit it heavy. I think you had a video that referenced this issue … I assume it’s because with proper tilt, my hips are still stalling thru impact like it does with my normal swing. Wish I could figure out that part of this puzzle. It’s almost a curse to be able to play well with such a huge flaw because it just encourages me to leave well enough alone. If I were a bogey golfer I would have fixed this a long time ago, or quit. If I was on your side of the pond, I’d be in your lesson bay for sure. Thanks for what you do here.
Im 63 self taught 5 hcp used to have same problem, know i feel i stay sideways on and turn down and up My go to pivot drill golf stance no club arms dangling in front of thighs palms facing imagine both hands holding exercise band looped through a pulley where the ball would be right hand slides up the right leg to right hip left arm slides down left leg to ball this is just a 45deg sequenced pivot powered mainly by pressure down into ground then reverse it left arms slides up to left hip right arm down to ball finish 45deg into pressured left leg I was a massive over turner swayer or both! b4 With this lower body action i find it easy to turn my pecs shoulders down and up and still have enough depth Cant believe so many words to describe a simple action!
Brilliant- years ago I shanked for 8 mths until a pro told me I was swinging too flat - when I changed to what you demonstrated - shanks gone forever - flat swing can cause the shanks
if you don't "move your shoulders", how does the initial takeaway and backswing sequence look like? I have always been taught to move your shoulders first, in the first part of the takeaway.
First 2 feet of your back swing should feel like your bringing your putter back. The rest is just tempo and trust. Shoulders, arms, and hands work together on the takeaway. You are welcome. This clown like the rest of YT "golf pros" just like to hear their own voices. Easy game people.

Best tip I’ve ever got. Thank you!
Glad it helped!

My go to pivot drill golf stance no club arms dangling in front of thighs palms facing
imagine both hands holding exercise band looped through a pulley where the ball would be
right hand slides up the right leg to right hip left arm slides down left leg to ball
this is just a 45deg sequenced pivot powered mainly by pressure down into ground
then reverse it left arms slides up to left hip right arm down to ball finish 45deg into pressured left leg
I was a massive over turner swayer or both! b4
With this lower body action i find it easy to turn my pecs shoulders down and up and still have enough depth
Cant believe so many words to describe a simple action!
Thanks!

Excellent video, just what I’ve been looking for
Glad it helped
Excellent video well presented
You just described my issue 100%
Amazing!
Me too.
Excellent thank you
You are very welcome
Good tip!

Rotate chest. It will naturally rotate shoulder and hips. But lower body should be quiet in takeaway and should be chest
Good
How is George doing?
Fine thank you.

Clearly don’t get this it makes me hook the ball 😢😢😢
