The composure from George Ford was exemplary. All his England teammates seemed to be getting pumped up while fordy didn't seem to be fussed a bit. Seriously impressed with George Ford. One of the finest performances by an Englishman at a world cup.

There lies the problem. If England win matches with several drop goals, too often; the governing body will change the rules on how many can be kicked in a game.

Ford played a blinder there, but England shouldn't rely on playing that way all the time. They need to use the backs more and keep teams guessing as to what they are going to do. That said, If Ford keeps this level of consistency going, I think they have a real chance of staying in the big games if they get to the later stages. maybe he's the new Johnny W?

'player landing after jumping isn’t really considered a mitigating factor but it should be' - funny you should say that because I looked it up and 'The ball-carrier suddenly drops in height (e.g. trips/falls, dives to score)' this seems to kind of cover it, I mean the ball carrier definitely drops from height. The more I watch players jumping for the ball the more recklessness I see - mainly from the person doing the jumping...

Reminds of the 2015 Springbok squad. A good team, but they could score tries against NZ, just kept up with penalties. That was a team who ran into problems with this type of approach, couldn’t execute a good game plan and resigned themselves to going for posts (from a Springbok fan)

An Argie here: sincerest congrats England! As I have been posting all over the place for weeks what could happen, and even that England had what it takes, I now say; "I TOLD YOU SO..." On top of that, they did it with 14 MEN since almost the very start! Argentina could not avoid falling into the trap of over-confidence, and we lost like amateurs against a supposedly weakened team. The English would now say "bollocks", but they shoud not, since their recent history is embarrasing. But, they never lost their heads, and as Argentina were unable to unsettle them and failed to capitalize some points or combinations, they gained in confidence hugely, inversely to Argentina. Serves us right for our arrogance. If Argentina are going to play this BADLY, there is not a chance in Heaven that we qualify for the next stage! Shame on Los Pumas! Such a fancied team.....

English pragmatism. Can’t win by the game, win by high class kicks! Congratulations.
In rugby, never underestimate England! And my heart is bleeding saying that because I’m French 😂😂😂

As a South African, I thought England was fantastic. I'm surprised there isnt a bigger outcry about the red card, which I thought was very harsh. Ford's tactics using dropgoals to keep the 14 man England in the game was masterful. I'll be watching England with eagle eyes from here on, they may have a few surprises up their sleeves.....

When it’s any head on head collision, I’m used to just seeing this as a red tbh. But yeah it’s a tough call, not much Tom Curry could’ve done

That said, considering there were three similar head clashes today in each game with just 1 yellow, yeah it’s very annoying. Hope they appeal it
