One of the things I’ve noticed is that my AI3 car will occasionally recognize standing water puddles attempting to steer around them. Unfortunately, it never moves for Manhole covers. Driving over Sunken Manholes is my biggest annoyance. The roads on my small town are relatively free of potholes, but not the Manmade potholes.
I would love to test 13.2.2 on my Model y against the older version with you. I live only 17 mins from the road you tested on. Nice video. Love your work.
Thanks for doing this HW3 test with a static cardboard cutout. I have a 2018 M3 and I find the results of this test reassuring. I would GREATLY appreciate it if you measure the distance between your car and the cardboard cutout when the car is the maximum distance from it while the "pedestrian" image still appears on the screen. I always wanted to know how far away can a HW3 Tesla recognize a pedestrian.
@@eastmanwebb5477 That’s easy, just have someone walk out on the road in front of you. The car doesn’t need to be moving just stationary in D. A moving human is easier for the car to detect than a stationary silhouette.
I would've liked to see the vertical sign trimmed narrower and narrower to find the detection limit. Also, with the mats, maybe changing their orientation and/or geometry until they get avoided.
Have you done 2x4's hanging out of a pickup truck without flag or rag attached to the wood? Will it see the wood and depth perception. Use a long extension ladder hanging out the back without visible marker.
Off topic to your video, but what’s the lines on the Tesla screen on the right side, that I am assuming is showing a curb warning. Mine dosnt have that, mine has like a heat map thing. Just curious if it’s the same thing.
@@jefa3524 Good question! It’s either a difference with processor (I have Intel CPU & not the Ryzen), or it’s related to the ultrasonic sensors. Although I believe the ultrasonic sensors logic and dependence may have been fully removed…
Fsd V13.2.2 can’t recognize small carton box on Christmas Day cruising on highway while passing a semi truck with Fsd on his 2024 model X hit a carton box approximate size 8”*12”*18” car didn’t know that it hit the box a black plastic fender on front driver side flying out so must be careful with small objects and pot whole .
If A deer or other animal runs across the road in front of you, according to police, you should not swerve to avoid it. But rather drive straight while braking in as necessary to avoid potential loss of control with the swerve maneuver. Granted nobody wants to hit an object that could potentially cause damage to their vehicle. but sometimes you have to make the choice of your safety vs the inanimate object. The biggest issue with the Camera’s is the limited range at which they can see. Humans can distinguish objects at great distances in daylight. but we are handicapped just as the cameras are when driving at night especially with low beam headlights in rural areas. City dwellers almost never experience true darkness with all the artificial light.
Humans can handle pot holes easily because they have encountered that pothole before, driving the same daily route. FSD will become the same but far better because of fleet data. FSD will mature to avoid potholes in the dark...

The other day, for the first time, I tried FSD on my good friend's Tesla. I was very impressed with his ability to predict the development of events.
this is one of my best channels.
Wow, Elon is confused🤣
I am his subscriber and I recommend this channel to everyone. Thanks buddy.
always a fun test video from you! now what is missed are FSD at night and during raining then FSD during heavy rain + extremely dark night
Great content, buddy

TOP analytics.
I'm loving it.
Elon is too skinny you would have to use a cardboard Donald Trump!

That was funny, bro.
Can you please test how much of a tight gap FSD will take and where it decides to not squeeze through?? Very curious on this please!

@ ah good call! I got the Ryzen so maybe that’s the difference. Same idea just different visual id assume.
I would rather see you try with a cardboard version of Dan O'Doubt. 🙂

Fun and interesting test! Looking forward to your first 12.6 video.
You should test one with a chain link to see whether the car can see it
@@electricvehiclesug256 It can’t.

If you change the face to Dan it is definitely going to hit 😊

Another good, fun video. Thanks Jon.
Thanks for posting your video. :)
Robocop mode on (directive 4) will never run over Elon, unless he fires himself from Tesla xD haha
I was thinking of the exact same Robocop scene 😂
Now the pink panther version, see what it does xD , will it show panther or human "?" xD
What if the Elon board had him with beige pants and white shirt? Not so visible then. Would the results be different?

I have to intervene all the time for potholes.
@jkimo11 As expected with v13
Once they remove the gas tanker trucks, there won't be any broke roads. The DOT admitted that 78% of the roads are broken by the gas station.
Why doing this test with this old version.....rent a car with v13 when you want to do these kinds of tests.....
Because this is the version available to most teslas which are hw3
With that logic you can simply watch a different video or rent one yourself since you’re so curious
people upgrade iphone but not Tesla-
This is freaking hilarious.
