  • Greg Boyd, Nonviolence, Nationalism, Patriotism, Calvinism, Open Theism, John Piper.
Greg Boyd unpacks his theological and ministry journey, talking about how he changed his mind on things like the sovereignty of God and American Christianity. We also dig into lots of stuff related to his writings which have been controversial in some circles.
This video is a raw file, so the audio is a bit unbalanced and the visual is subpar. I hope the content will make up for the poor aesthetics!

Love Greg - what a heart for the Lord, and what a mind for His ways.

(And I really meant it, unlike the SPAM entity in the comments section. These one sentence encouragement comments may actually have their role, all things working for the good, but it's presently a SPAM trend on youtube, the likes of TOM, TIM, and now the no-name entity).

I dont understand why he rejected the Barthian view of election, because it is completely different from Calvin's. Whereas in Calvin's doctrine God predestines dome to eternal salvation and others to eternal perdition, Barth reworks the doctrine so that election is centred entirely around Christ, God rejects Christ in order that we might not be rejected. Barth then eliminates any notion of predestination to condemnation on the part of humanity.

I don't know much about Karl Barth except that he was a cessatonist in regards to the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Preston, there were something like five ads by the 28-minute mark. It was a bit too high for me even though I really enjoyed listening to the conversation.

It's worth $11.99 a month to not see ads

Find a browser extention that blocks ads - find more than one. I saw not one ad during this entire interview. It's like a miracle! :)

Why did God steer the ancient Hebrew nation to an already populated part of the world? It's a big planet and "the promised land" could easily have been a non-populated part of the world - a part of the world where there was no need to drive out or wipe out the inhabitants.
