Same thing happened after his first Levan match. He took a big break, then did the title match for a lower weight class.

He's not submitting to EvW schedule ... It is him telling them "you don't tell me when I compete.. I tell you when I compete"
Trying to anger Engin's delicate little ego I see. Might not work, Engin understands that Devon is larger than EvW.
@@randomdudexyz1232not right now, Devon was bigger than east vs west but not anymore
I think he's going down to train with Brian Shaw so maybe he will do that while he's on a break
ooh that's right, can't wait!!
my thoughts too. maybe he prefers focusing on brian shaw right now, which would be enormous for the sport.
@@bee2690 for sure. I'm sure Brian can pay him a good chunk of change for Devon to help him out. Devon might move in with Brian for a few weeks haha
@@bee2690let’s hope so.
I don’t get the impression that this would be a form of payed coaching. I feel it’s more towards a mutually beneficial collaboration, where both people get some cross over fans and more eyes on arm wrestling.
Listen to what he said on his video about ending pumpkin training. He is experiencing some burnout overtraining. And lets be real from 120kg to 105 in months is not a good idea... now i know he has a supermatch in canada soon or something
I’m kind of glad Devon canceled this match, because I think that at Devon’s current stage of his career, that he would be too skinny &?weak at only 105kg, I don’t care if he competed at this weight when he was younger, That was then and this is now, I’d rather see Devon take a rest, revamp his training style a bit, and compete at 115kg, I think Devon would do better at 115kg.

I fully support Devon taking a break. If he loses the titles, then so be it, as he will just regain them on his first match back.

He's right about and English, who's on a high horse really dude. You suck at reading comprehension, and you are doubling down even stupider than your first comment. You are one of those.
The match v Levan took its toll mentally on Devon. Understandable. He had a high expectation from himself, he wasnt use to be dominated that way by anybody, 2x in a row. I guess he realized that he actually has a limit. Taking a break is a smart move.
Levan com 40 a 60 kg a menos não seria um limite para o Devon!
Essa é a realidade... Mas Levan é uma besta também!!
Mas o Devon é o Devon! 🔥🔥🔥
@@lucasmocelin26 Well, its a super heavyweight, an open weight class, so its not Levan's problem Devon couldnt get a weight. There is always a heavyweight for Devon, that is his true weight class. Of course, Devon is a legend, i could even say a guy did enough to be considered a GOAT, of course if people say its John forever i get that, i have no problem with it, but i havent seen anyone more dedicated to this sport than Devon. Cudos to him. Its just has to be said, Levan is the best, we cant take away anything from him, he is also already a big legend of this sport as well.
In my opinion Devon needs some rest.. he’s looked pretty tired and beat up in his practice pulls after the Levan match.. he should take it easy for a couple months and give his body some rest and then come back ready to crush 💪
He needs a proper strength coach. The guy has been accumulating systemic fatigue at a crazy rate. Whilst his isolated lifts might have been going up in weight, his systemic fatigue will no doubt have been sapping his overall strength and top end performance.
Levan crushed his soul!
🤣 dudes a Devon hater
@@tolbster., yes, he is. And here in the coments there are a lot of Devons fangirls😂
Even Dadikyan wants to see Devon vs Laletin more then their match
No matter what we want to see from him, and how often we want to witness those fights, we are not here to push Devon set his plans according to our willings and cravings. This is, probably, the wisest decision he has ever made, concerning his health, the sport he supports with his being, and his tremendous efforts towards it. Whomever aims for constant highest peaks, is doomed eventually, to a downward spiral. Check the symbolic story (mythos) about Icarus and his flight towards the sun.
Remember when Devon went on a or tour during covid? Surprised Michael Todd, trained with jujimufu, Eric spoto, was doing interviews? Let the man live. Life passes you by and you can’t let burnout get to you. He will be back, the same way Lupkes did. Give it time.
Will be interesting to see if Engin organizes Dadikyan vs someone else as an interim title. Will be interesting to see what Devon decides to do next, I would like to see him face Genadi again before he starts cutting muscle mass (if he does indeed plan to go for lighter weight titles).
he did everything to be done with his right hand and he deserves the break even if it is a long one. now for his left i think there is a whole lot of arm wrestlers out there out of focus because of all these super heavy weight right arm matches promotion. i wanna see devon come back and competing with his left hand. devon vs muratov or devon vs morozov will be hell of a match so yeah hopefully devon will come back with his left hand this time.
Bro got them killer eyes
I think Devon realized the hole in his game. A fast side pressure followed by the press seems to be his kryptonite. Even in his practice with Auden, even if it's practice, it's visible in his face when Auden went for that press. And he needs to recover as well after all these matches or else even Dadikyan might just flash through him using same technique
I agree with the break. You can tell he hasn’t been working out from his recent videos and spending more time with his family. He’s definitely not in shape or motivated at the moment for Dadikyan
David Dadikyan vs Evgeny Prudnik should happen preferably at 105 kg, if not possible then 115 kg as well.
There's something wrong Devon's right arm, it was smaller than his left before the Levan match. I noticed that. His right has always been bigger than the left, he might have some nerve damage, MMT had that in his right hand.
Yes, many have noticed this also. Go back even 6 months & his right was bigger than his left. Something is definitely not 'right'..lol
The new patient zero stemcells are backfiring.
His flame got rained on. I understand entirely. Like many people in the world, I wanted him to win. His endless escapade of asking of himself will definitely live on I hope in everyone to always test themselves.
Last few years he's been having super matches every few months, easily the most active arm wrestler. So yeah, he can take a small break lol.
He's looking kinda younger already. Definitely took some time off the pancakes.

You can’t be beaten by a guy twice and have much will left. If he’s got another dominant streak in him it can’t be at super heavy weight he needs to go after every other division. He probably beats almost everyone under 300 lbs.

RIP Mrs Larratt
I thought that Devon did not go full hard for Levan. It seemed like at the end of his training, he wasn't doing that well, even confidence wise. I also think that he might be dealing with some personal issue and that is the reason why he called the match off, or probably doesn't have the desire to compete at a high level anymore. We also must not forget that he is focusing a lot on his son and wishes to be his mentor. So there is a huge possibility that Devon will just retire very soon.
I think the levan match really defeated him, and hes got some readjusting and maybe soul searching to do. Not sure its been weird lately..cant explain it
Its good he needs the rest from all the work for levan, which is great for the sport as well in many ways, it will force people to watch events without their fav athletes the one time without devon i saw a lot of devon fans convert into actual fans when Maiorov went up against samushia amd some other matches on that card which didnt include Devon
he is secretly going to take time off to gain bicep and side pressure by changing his training and going the georgian route, then he will come back
Devon did say hed never deal with bobken again unless it was an mma match. Also i think hes been destroyung his nerves keeping it turned all the way up so long. 👍
Pretty sure that match was gonna be an easy one for devon.
No, not at that weight. I think he knows if he cut down that quickly he could easily lose to Dadykin and that wouldn’t look good for him.

Levan broke him.
Well that sucks.

Levan crushed his soul. We have seen the last of Devon's best years. Now he is going to just play in the kids pool on occasion. Not to mention I do believe age has finally taken its toll on his body and it no longer responds to training like it used to (He stated this himself).
Going for title matches in lower weight classes isn't playing in kid's pool lol. For instance, Levan can't do it, he can't win title matches at 115 or 105

Ever since he's lost to levon he's changed he's lost all self-confidence I believe he thinks he's washed up and ready to retire watch home depot's everybody he just looks like he feels like he's weak and he can't beat anybody he has no confidence
See where your coming from with this, but reading into what Devon said there's a possibility he might be alluding to something else. Devon said that his 'foundation' isn't there anymore and he's often referred to his overall body strength as his foundation. It's also been mentioned a lot recently, although not directly be Devon, that he needs some fundamental strength training adding to his workouts. I believe Devon has admitted that his biceps aren't strong enough. Also his pumpkin training has ended as well, so all this potentially means that he might start to work on some more conventional training? Devon kind of see's himself as a working experiment so when one experiment has achieved all it can he'll likely move onto something else.
Strip him of the 115kg title
why there’s no reason to do that , are you just mad no one will beat him on the right arm in the 115 kg division
@@Unstoppable_armwrestlingSo it should become lineal title and after Devon His son and then grandchildren should hold it forever

115 kg is apt for Devon..I think Devon is at his strongest at 115 kg
Damn he whimped out.
Devon is going to start focusing on full body workouts from what I hear. I think he finally realized that all of the real beasts train everything, not just one arm.
The fact that he hasn't realized this until now...a truth even beginners understand...shows that Devon is nowhere near as intelligent as some people think. It is OBVIOUS to anyone with a working brain that EVERY muscle used on the table should be trained...and not only with partial/surge reps, either.
It literally took Devon 30 years to comprehend principles the rest of the world understands in the first year or two..
I always thought the pumpkin training stuff was stupid. Besides one arm he should probably be doing some shoulders and back as well. I’m not saying go all in on bodybuilding I’m just saying pumpkin training is stupid.
@@mikearnold6312so you're saying all his success in the last year was just a fluke? Full spectrum strength would help him be even greater but we can't write off what he has achieved only training the one arm, it's pretty amazing really.
Yeah he’s real dumb. He only managed to be the best in the world at 115. And beating most SHW. Perhaps you and the other beginners can show him how it should be done 😂
PATHETIC
@@TheObserver83 Devon has done a LOT right when it comes to training. In some ways, he has helped revolutionize armwrestling training more than any other. However, he has also been oblivious to some of the most obvious factors involved in armwrestling success.
So, he is somewhat of an anomaly in this regard. He has pinpointed vital aspects of armwrestling training, while failing to see the bigger picture. It has ALWAYS been a flaw of his. How many times have we heard him say "this is the most important strength/function in armwrestling", only to see him completely contradict himself a few years later?
One of many examples would be grip strength (i.e., finger strength throughout multiple finger joints). Just a few years ago, he told everyone grip training was useless and completely unnecessary. Yet, he just told Alex Kurdecha (in a recent training video) that it was the. MOST important strength in armwrestling!
Over the years, he has repeatedly contradicted himself multiple times. Yet, even intermediate armwrestlers OFTEN understand that ANY strength/function used on the table is important...because it is
The TRUTH is that being the absolute best open-weight armwrestler one can be absolutely requires the maximization of EVERY fundamental AND secondary strength used on the table. How this alluded Devon for 30 years is beyond me.

With out the hunt, there is no hunter. Devon has done everything humanly possible aside from beating Levan that he possibly could. Seems to make sense he is demotivated, there is nothing for him to work for within the realm of reality in the arm wrestling space currently.
He just needs to get over Levan cuz nobody is going to defeat him. But there’s still plenty of other great matchups he should be motivated for. I think he just needs a break after pushing so hard for the number one spot.
