Nicolas is a good player with minor glitches to fix. Efren is still showing that he's at another level. That's why he's so much fun to watch. His game is like a dance. Thank you Poolstage for sharing this video.
That's not new try watching all of his match pointing where the cue ball will go ( on the exact point where he pointed with his cue. ) and its beyond perfect
When I will see a snooker player doing this on a pool table(repeatedly), I will start to listen more to the ones who think that any good snooker player destroys any pool players on a pool table ! Because THIS is exactly what these people didn't understand about pool. The challenge is not potting the ball, the challenge is the cue ball, on a table where obstacles are everywhere. The angles and the speed most be very calculated. This is not just the difficulty of the game but this is also the beauty of the game. This actually what pool is about.
Table size? Pocket dimension? Where are they playing? For what stakes? On what terms? These are things the viewer would like to be told and not have to guess at. In a high quality presentation, they would tell you these things. In billiards, it's almost always "amateur hour" productions, even when the finest players play. It's a matter of how bad the quality is, where some are worse than others.
Is it just me or Reyes is toying ottermann? Who think 41:50 is not a pure coincidence, Reyes aiming the cue ball toward 9 and 7, just like at 18.30 that Reyes is aiming to make the bank shot of the brown 7 but he missed. The class difference is real here
@29:05 - Efren, like he did earlier, moves a coin from one diamond to another, under the cushion. Is he keeping score that way? Is this a common way of keeping score?
That's how you keep score you move the coin from Diamond to Diamond depending on how many games you're playing so nobody gets to forget how many games are won
I find it astonishing, almost perplexing, that even the great Magician himself can, from time to time, miss a very easy shot; one that the rankest of amateurs would rarely miss themselves. I take it back. The maestro meant to miss that opening shot. Or to be more precise, he employed a brilliant safety. Which gave him better position to run the table after snookering his opponent. Me of little faith.
Maybe its just a pretend play for Efren. You lose some to get more b plus opponents. When we hustle we put a lot of drama, we bring basket with 2 kg of fish and we even put fish scales on our wrist. That way we can start with a c level opponent but the real target is the best in that area. That's how pool is done in ph.
It is so heartening to know the misgivings our Government is sending our National Artist and heroes out to nowhere. Efren Bata, The Magician, The Lifetime Achiever, The G.O.A.T., just to maintain his living is going in town playing pool games with anyone. Although in one end this good training for the young ones, but at one end, to Efren's end...I can not use the correct adjective. Just Think, if the Likes, say, the level of Manny Pacquiao going in any town, sparring with anyone just to make a living.
I think going around town playing pool is just a hobby for him. Makes him happy to be still part of the pool circle and see his old and new friends. Keeps him busy and alive inside and outside. I doubt that he “needs” to do this for a living to provide for him and his family. The pool circle is his second family throughout his life. It must be very hard for him to drop them just like that.
It was a good eye, but ultimately, it's about which way the balls move. If one ball is hit first, the balls move in this direction, if the other is hit first, then the balls move in a different direction. Here, they moved very little, so you have to be on your game.
Why so? - From what I see it's stretched pretty tight as indicated by the characteristic "stripe pattern" from the tension within the cloth - that's typical for fresh made tables, if you stretch them full force (and Z9 recquires stretching to the max, because you are supposed to use the leftover along the long side to cover at least 2 rails - that's how it's calculated)
I helped installing like 15 table with Z9 now - it's a pain in the ass to stretch, you need like 4-5 people to stretch it properly and only if you apply maximum stretch there will be enough material left over along the long rail to be made into the long rail cushion - - - it is really calculated to have like nearly zero leftover....
It's a weird stroke, but it's working for him. 5x European Youth Champion 5x German Champion Runner-up Straight Pool European Championship Last 16 World Straight Pool Championship
is this just a efren show for 10 interested people sponsored by that billiardcloth company or why all people are so drunk and noisy in that bar? i think there is no other billard vid on yt with that background noise... next try out krone darmstadt with dancing drunk people beside the billard table :D
Effrin is from another world he can put the cue ball anywhere on the table it's amazing!

amazing video with a beautiful angle of every shot (focus), nice switching of every camera.. I enjoy watching it.. thanks for the upload Poolstage

5:59 cue ball goes exactly to the spot he expects. The guy is unreal.

Efren Reyes
Actually, the GOAT!!!
The bank shot at 1:15:52. Only the Magician could take such a shot with such confidence. Gorgeous.
the video production is high quality. thank you for that.

So nice to watch a game without commentators babbling about how Efren should be playing the game.
Rotate
I don't know I thought the kid hit the one ball first on the safety.
10:05 - It's nice that Nicolas Ottermann volunteered to help rack Efren's practice session.
He's a gentleman!
Working on my English game, throw , swerve, curve and spin induced. So glad to find this videos. I beginning to see more of the magic.
30:15 Amazing
I could watch The Magician all day long. He’s the BEST ever. Thanks
1:07:30 Just, wow.
bread and butter for Reyes.
Cue ball to Efren: " where shall I go master?"
Truly a magician !!
Is it just me or Reyes is toying ottermann?

That bank shot from Efren at 11:24
Efren Reyes é um jogador cansado... Cansado de dar show! O cara é genial ...
Efren "The Magician" Reyes...The G.O.A.T.
have to agree with you on that one Chris.

Efren Reyes the pride of the Philippines ❤❤
I like how it's crowded and people are talking and carrying on, that's how it should be.
How many games did they play
Whats size is the table?
9 feet...

Jim Pack The best players in the world occasionally miss an easy shot. It’s called being human.

I would hardly call Ottermann "just anyone," he is a fine player in his own right.....but you're point is well taken.
I think going around town playing pool is just a hobby for him. Makes him happy to be still part of the pool circle and see his old and new friends. Keeps him busy and alive inside and outside. whomever stretched the cloth on that table should be fired...

Ya... lol sorry about that, when i was installing that one i told the boss it was too small but he said nobody would notice. just following orders :/

Yeah man, that is full of waves and stuff. Unprofessional.
did Efren use house cue?
is it just me or does this otterman fella have the weirdest stroke
i agree lol its not smooth, seems like he's poking instead of following through
He does have a weird stroke, right. But that doesn't matter. Otterman is just a foil in the Efren Reyes show.
Lmao
It's a weird stroke, but it's working for him.

Was bothering me too. Don't really like it but hey whatever works for him.
Otterman is pushing the cue ball, not striking it.
