I like seeing these species in video that I read about in "Field Guide to North American Trees", Elias. In the book there are lengthy descriptions, filled with botanical terminology, and sepia illustrations. The video with close-ups really helps.
We found this video very helpful. We also have both invasive burning bush and the native eastern wahoo on our property. Now we know how to tell the difference between the two and we can remove the invasive with confidence . Keep up the good work! Thanks!
Thank you for showing the different types of euonymous. We are battling burning bush on our little 1 acre woods. Pulled up a lot, but also cut, stump, treat larger bushes. I have been using triclopyr 8.8 % straight up. Will this prevent re- growth?
We use 20% glyphosate on the cut surface, but 8.8% triclopyr should work. Are you using the ester formulation (triclopyr 4 with oil), or the amine formulation (triclopyr 3 with water)?
What is that conifer near the Wahoo you showed? I can't tell how open that area is. I want to add some conifers into my forest area, but was afraid of too low light, so I was thinking maybe just on the edges.
It is some sort of Spruce that we planted. We live in SW Ohio and really do not have the soil or other environmental factors for conifers, so they don't do well.
Very helpful! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!

Video is nice, but a really good illustration sometimes gets to the detail of the identification better.

Priduct is ferti-lome. Says trichlorpyr as triethylamine salt. Would include photo of product label, but didn't see how to post photo.
Anyone else think that was a bear in the background at first?
I was waiting for someone to comment on that!
My first thought was also bear!
Bro fr!!!😂
