Imagine if Rudy randomly opened one of these boxes only to find it filled with Wyvern packs.
filled with rudy's metazoo promos
Still a reserved list card though
wubby magic Monday refrence
Wubby7
i wouldve insisted on being allowed to randomly open a couple boxes minimum before closing that deal
Holy spit! Is Rudy the only person who could open a legitimate MtG museum and actually do it right? I’d visit FL for that
I want a museum dedicated to Taco's, Stepsisters and Rudy!
He probably does not have as much stock as hasbro, but definitely older and more valued stuff.
holy spit?
He’s the only one I’d want to do that
Why would a museum want hundreds of the same item?
dude just flexed on the whole world of collectible cardboard
and probably why no one is touching vintage outside the few. the same reason you shouldn't touch summer magic. the market is way too manipulated.
@@Barrager69 This, feels like Rudy hold 70% of sealed vintage.
That haircut speaks volumes. Rudy made it
Out of bed?
@@drradontaco already warm
Rudy has arrived
My era of Magic. Mirage. Tempest. Urza's block. Breathtaking nostalgia.
Absolute peak MTG era if you ask me.
Timmy: "Those bathroom boxes of Pokémon will never flip!"
Rudy: "Hold my taco."
Didn't expect Rudy to be spitting European oil painting market knowledge
Thanks! For what its worth comin from joe nobody proud of you bro! Keep doin what you do good sir! Wish i had cookies and capitol to do the same.
dont give your money to millionaires lol
@CerealKiller669 dude takes time out of his day to entertain me its worth $2 from time to time to me
Agreed, what a historical collection addition! Thanks for sharing.
10:54 "The only free lunch in this world is diversification and doing what you enjoy." Preach, Rudy, preach!
SUPER rare chance to see what the back of an *LGS may have looked like in like the year 2000-2002* Thanks for sharing bro!
Try 1996-99!
@bryanhuber3554 literally the years I started playing magic. I was only 9 and I remember always getting my dad to take me to the card shop to get singles. I still remember how that card shop smelled
Yeah no....more like 1995-1999
Oh man, i love just watching your videos and seeing this stuff. Its nice to know its still out there being taken care of.
Amazing buy! Love seeing any 90s boxes!
OMG this is huge!!! Congrats Rudy 🫡
Vintage magic is on the road to becoming vintage GI Joes. Once everyone with the nostalgia bug dies, you won’t be able to give them away.
I'd love to see more discussion on this interesting thought, or a Rudy response.
Funny analogy but it's probably still about 2 decades away from that, an entire generation will have to die off, the kids from the 90s will still buy them in their 50's.
Not even close. Its still a game piece for a currently played game
Truly breathtaking. Thanks for sharing, Rudy!🤯
These boxes will never see the light of day again.
Simply stunning. Legit makes my head spin. God, I pine for this era of magic. What an amazing game it used to be❤
Thanks for sharing Rudy, and congrats on almost 10 on RUclips. Keep it up!
Sorry mate I think your prediction of “it’s peaked” is right. From what I’ve seen Vintage toys etc fall away when no one is around to buy into the nostalgia
although vintage toys have literally no utility for adults or younger folks where playing cards that retain value do
@@disconsolator if pokemon is an indicator we find the fading away throry to hold true, 151 set brought back the old generation but these people seem to buy modern instead, same old pokemon, fancier design.
@@cykaboi336 Pokemon is a different beast to MTG. The video games drives the TCG. MTG has nothing like it.
@@cykaboi336 pokémon’s stand in for utility is the video games and the tv show. it also has the passing down of collecting to younger folks from an ip that is still ongoing.
Maybe when that generation starts suffering from dementia + ill die soon so i dont care that beta shivan is $10k there can be another big boom
That's a beautiful pile of product. I started playing in 4th edition so this is peak nostalgia MtG era for me. Congrats on the acquisition
Thank you for rescuing all of these!
Thanks for sharing Rudy!!!

The complaint about the cards in the boxes being worthless isn't really meritless. A $10,000 box of urza's legacy is full of cards that have $1.50 reprints. Regardless if google thinks the EV is $18,000, it's just rich people gambling for a psa 10 grim monolith.
Today's EV of Urza's Legacy: $543.80
Today's tcgplayer lowest listing:
$3999.99
Number of boxes available:
5
This last number is why the price is so high, not the EV.
“ This last number is why the price is so high, not the EV.”
It definitely helps but if you corner the market it’s easier to manipulate it.
Love it! Fourth Edition/Ice Age combo sale to patreons? "Where it started for most of us old timers."
Having played MTG in the mid 90s, I'm gonna tell you, it's a miracle the game survive this long. The era of internet, 3D games, internet high speed, smartphones. But people are still gathering to play this card game. It's shocking that some people are paying all that money for vintage 1993-1994 cards they will never use and are hard sealed in a plastic wrap. I agree those cards tend to lose value and just be remembered for the sake of nostalgy.
Not everyone wants to move on. Me for sure not. I have spoken.
I don't think WotC ever though it would see the value that sports cards have. I'm sure they did by Mirage, but it was collect-to-play not collect-to-trade prior to that. None of us used sleeves for our decks, plenty even bridge shuffled. Meanwhile, every single 93 Tops Black Gold card I had was encased in Lucite in a blackout box. I have some regrets...
> are paying all that money for vintage 1993-1994 cards they will never use
My brother and I co-own an unlim Ancestral and he just bought an U Mox Emerald for 1900 usd in played condition.
He plays with both in Oldschool93-94 format magic.
He regularly plays against people with full dual and P9s sets in Beta (obv well used copies) but they DO play with them.
Because digital cannot provide true random and therefore physical is best for competitive play. You know how your iPod keeps shuffling the same songs in the same pattern, same thing for any game, dice roll, casino etc that is digital, it can never be a true representation of luck and/or skill.
@@ricthechamp4 Who the hell uses the shake function? lol
Might as well listen to the radio.
The market's volatility makes DIY dangerous. You do not need to identify the next NVDA to be successful in investing. Choose top-tier ETFs, dividend aristocrats, and a trusted advisor. I turned $180k into $20k in quarterly dividends, which is an exciting milestone
The strategies are quite rigorous for the regular. As a matter of fact, they are mostly successfully carried out by pros who have had a great deal of skillset/knowledge to pull such trades off.
I’d suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $130k in passive diversified safe-haven assets, Up 358k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes.
I could really use the expertise of this advsors
*Layan Talia Chokr* is her name, You are most likely to find more info when you look her up on the internet
Thank you for your fantastic tip. I verified her, wrote her, and she seemed proficient.
Congrats on the acquisition! I'm glad this stuff is with you. You really appreciate the things you buy.
Facepalm
Thanks for sharing Rudy
Wait did somebody buy out Alpha Investments? Okay never mind it isn't the largest buyout
If AI hasn’t been bought out then it doesn’t count…
I see what you did there.
Thanks for sharing, this is by far my favorite era of magic.
This was my era... love seeing these. The memories it brings.
super envious mang! grats on that purchase.... actaully triggered memories of playing mtg during lunch classes at the lunch table in middleschool with the boys
Congrats on this Rudy! This is awesome and well deserved
Go big or go home. Rudy knows
Congrats!! 🎉
Maybe if they made a series of movies with the IP the old stuff would come up. Its definitely possible to create another Marvel situation
It would be trashed by wokeness sadly
@@stefangoerke2692 As dumb as this sounds (and it sounds really fucking dumb like every other "woke" comment), it's kinda true. The old artwork didn't survive and wouldn't be acceptable today. The soul of it would be watered down to market it to children. And Marvel is just a bunch of shitty one liners, quips, and laugh track moments. I have no idea how they would get anyone under 35 interested in a magic the gathering movie.
OMG this is awesome on a level i cannot even comprend! Incredible! Beautiful!!!!! Congrats Rudy and thanks for sharinf!!!!
Rudy from alpha investments i truly wish you the best on this venture you've taken on. Because HOLY SHIT that collection is insanely cool. You weren't kidding, that is a beautiful sight. Theres nobody that deserves this position in the vintage market than you. I hope some tech bros or logan paul start some shit and make that collection through the roof.
Happy New Year to Everyone and i hope you all had a "Guten Rutsch ins Neue Jahr!" (Good Slide into the New Year!) as we say in Germany
Also Rudy, seeing the insane Amount of Boxes you got there, can we hope for some Old Magic the Gathering Set Box Openings like you used to do?
Those were the best Videos. No need to just sit on absolutely all of them, ot at least sell some and open them in a Video
Prost & Cheers from Berchtesgaden in the Snow-Covered Bavarian Alps
Happy New Year! ❤
Frohes Neues!
Zum Wohl!
I once went hiking in Berchtesgaden, so pretty! & Frohes Neues ^^
12:09 Holy shit. Congrats Rudy. You've hit the jackpot (again). Wow.
yeah but he paid for that jackpot haha
Holy fooking sheet.
Big ol’ magic collection. Congratulations. I’d be laying next to it on my back smiling.
ice age and 4th. that's where I began. good stuff
There is zero demand for vintage. who is playing mtg in 2025 with vintage cards? the kids playing mtg these days weren't around for vintage and dont care about it. it means nothing to modern mtg players
Maybe the demand is lower since a high percentage of people cant afford it. Doesn't matter about the playability. When and if the economy recovers, that's when you will see a spike. Just my opinion
players and collectors aren’t the same thing. you could say the same thing abt wotc pokemon but they continue to be sold for thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars
I'm a new player, and I collect vintage. No nostalgia, just love the cards. I'm buying, so your statement is incorrect.
@@RIIGWhile I agree with you about playability not mattering when it comes to vintage (plenty of modern fans of MtG/Pkmn enjoy playing the older formats just fine), I can’t agree with you about the other part of your statement regarding the economy.
Unless there’s just some freak occurrence/happenstance that only Magic fans are destitute and unable to afford much right now, that opinion simply cannot hold any weight.
Again, if the economy is affecting Magic fans the hardest and that’s why vintage isn’t selling specifically, then by all means, ignore me; but the truth is that isn’t what is happening in other TCGs/CCGs, namely Pokémon.
While Pokémon’s vintage sector is down comparative to the pandemic’s craze, it’s still relatively strong.
The reason I think you aren’t seeing vintage move as much is simply due to modern being more enticing at the moment. Not necessarily because it’s better either, just that it’s the “in vogue” thing right now.
Magic’s vintage being worse off does have a few other variables affecting it, but overall it’s the new stuff that’s taking the spotlight majority of the time right now.
@@RIIG what do you mean not affordable? It's cheaper than a lot of modern products 😂
That is just a thing of beauty to see.
I’m lucky enough that I kept my old mtg cards and I knew it these old cards are disappearing slowly and I’m still continuing till it’s toooo late
So cool! Thank you for sharing!
being real, one of the best vid's Rudy has done. I feel this is the real guy behind the RUclipsr. He's crazy smart and savvy. Im always impressed with his business mind , your smarts and over taste in things to collect. props brother.
That’s awesome!! Please let us know when those get added to the $91 draft box sale list. 😀
Congratulations on that new addition! Amazing
Just watching this again and its.....BEAUTIFUL.
That certainly is a nice position of old comic books and magazines! No surprise it got your attention. Oh wait, it's not about the comics but cardboard boxes filled with more cardboard? Huh, guess that's interesting as well.
Blimey, what a friggin huge stock of old boxes! Now you can build a throne of boxes from each set already, huh? 😀
Thanks for sharing... Very curious what the future will hold , esp. as this was my prime magic playing years.
So from my counting we got:
23 homelands Booster Boxes / 7 Weatheright Booster Boxes / 7 Exodus Booster Boxes / 2 Uzas Saga Starter boxes / 3Tempest starter boxes / 35-42 Mirrage Booster Boxes +13 starter Boxes
48 4th Edition booster Boxes + 16 Starter Boxes / 47 Ice age Booster boxes + 12 Starter Boxes / 22 Visions Booster Boxes /36 Chronical booster Boxes / 4 Fallen Empires Booster Boxes.
Imagine finding something like this in an lost old storage room....💲💲💲👍. The market value should be between 300-400k!
Buy it all, until it’s time to not buy it all, then buy it all!
Boxes from the time when Magic was the magic.... at least for me. Evenings with friends and hours of great time. Memories....
Great vid. I was collecting back then. I would call 4th, trash in addition to Fallen and Homelands. Some truly bad sets were dumped on us between Revised and Alliances. Chronicles and 4th are the reasons for the reserved list. Visions and Mirage were great.
It was so bad. I collected 4th, IA, FE, and Homelands hard, and the cards were 99% dogshit. It was still fun, but man it stung to almost never open something awesome.
No matter what happens: this is my Magic Primer time, so i will always buy one box each off you in the future ;-)
Rudy got a massive load. Love seeing all these boxes. Very happy for you.
thats pretty gay bro
Crazy pickup
right in the feels. cool purchase!
Nice! Awesome score, Rudy!
Congratulations. It will go up in time.
I did not expect one of the best Ted talks I've ever heard when I clicked on this video
I would love to have some sealed starter decks from Mirage, Ice Age, Tempest, etc. THe time I started playing Magic in the 90s. I still have those deck boxes (opened of course). They hit a very nostalgic fibre in me. The mirage one is one of the most iconic for me.
Congrats, Rudy! That's an amazing purchase.
got at least 4 lions eye diamonds in that lot.... fantastic score!
MIRAGE - URZA'S SAGA... 😮🤩🤩 AAAAAAAAHH...
F*k, you da Man Rudy!! VINTAGE KING - Best thing on the Internet 🎉✨
I really hope this show of previously unknown inventory helps to rank the market a little bit. Some of these sets were printed to Valhalla in quantity
I'm pissed he couldn't show them all in one frame at once
Beautiful stuff. Reminds me of the boxes on the shelves at the old used book store in my hometown.
Good job mate!
I fkn wish! Congratulations Rudy! So nostalgic!
I’ve always wished they would bring back large boosters like the ice age ones here. 3 booster packs worth of cards with some extra lands and a nice little deck sized box when you’re done.
All of my decks were in those deck boxes, they were the best!
Breathtaking.
All I took from the first 2mins of this video is that if you have enough money it doesnt matter if your investments are drastic failures or not...
love the content as always
Bulls make money. Bears make money. Pigs get slaughtered. Remember - you're just a pig
congrats Rudy!
What a great piece of history. Would be interesting, how this big deal was negociated.
Bro. I left the magic world at the end of 21 right after War of the Spark, and I just say man, I’ve missed your videos and I’m getting back into magic again. Thanks Rudy!
Interested in a few boxes of The Dark, if you decide to sell. amazing haul
Just open them all would be peak youtube content
Rudy bought all the Chalupa Supremes
Thanks for sharing Rudy. Don't have any of these sealed products because being from my era of play, I am not sure if it could keep them sealed
Beautiful collection.
Congrats Rudy!
Curious if this buyout was from an individual, LGS distributor that went bk, or maybe from a national retailer that found this in the back of some stock room.
Yeah just want to know too, who continue keep unbox products like that? The main factory maybe?
I have a hard time believing all this cardboard is insured. This kind of thing makes my skin itch
Looking forward to Rudy explaining Contango and Backwardation with respect to MTG.
Realism paintings are always amazing in my opinion
Glad these found a good forever home.
thanks for posting
Don’t know anything about these cards, but it’s cool to see a huge old stock lot
Uraz saga still my fav block today.. Thats when it all started for me lol. Epic Move !
Skip to 12:10 to see the collection. You are welcome!
