My entire "On repeat" playlist is now filled with spanish music from Reggaeton to urbano to flamenco. 2 years ago I would have probably passed upon on listening anything that wasn't "my language" but here we are. And credit goes to 2 people for opening my doors: Bad Bunny and J Balvin. Saludos desde 🇮🇳 🙌
I love how much background you gave as well as the context of Puerto Rico’s history and how that ultimately influenced the kind of artist and person Benito became. This was super well done.
As a native puertorican I appreciate the extra effort you made in giving context to both Benito's heritage and my island's history. Very few people, including here on the island know the history and struggle of our people that stands to this day. I hope PR is being a good home to you and your family and friends. And thank you for showing the respect we ask that newcomers show to the island, to not be ignorant of the clear problems we're facing and currently heading towards for. This video taught me a lot about Bad Bunny as an artist and thanks to you I found a new sense of pride and respect for him. All your videos, at least the ones Ive seen have been top tier content
As a non Spanish speaking fan since 2016, I’ve struggled to fully connect ALL the dots of his journey due to not being able to absorb insight from early interviews. This helped with that! Thanks for also including source details. Quality vid as always. I appreciate all the efforts of your work Jake! 🙌🏽
This is a prime example of cultural appreciation not appropriation. And the fact you chose to share his music instead of monetizing the video is the proverbial cherry on top. 👏👏👏
It’s not cultural appropriation to monetize the video. Some odd reason, people think that making music from other cultures and profiting is cultural appropriation.
nothing wrong with monetizing it , lots of videos out there about artists life and they monetize , doesn't mean its appropriation. Don't go claiming just anything is appropriation , it just minimizes the meaning of the word.
😂 RUclips pretty much takes care of monetizing or not automagically. If it’s allowed, IDK how it has anything to do with appropriation, because it means the copyright holder wants/allows you to use it and monetize it 😊 soooooo….enjoy;)
me encanta el vídeo , es el mejor documental que he visto sobre Bad Bunny , espero que seas reconocido como mereces por tu gran esfuerzo,y gracias por darnos a los fans del conejo algo tan lindo cómo esto
This has easily become one of my favorite desktop documentaries. I can’t not applaud the grace, consideration and sensitivity you gave the artist but Puerto Rico & it’s history + culture. You should be proud.
Puerto Rico will never fall. There are wonderful stories to be documented of the Puerto Rican resilience. Estamos en el aguante pero eso no va a durar mucho tiempo mas.
@@Merry19ss No creo.

What I love about Latin reggaeton/hip hop culture is how everyone pretty much gets along and supports each other. Other artists are happy for his success and Bad Bunny is always willing to support other artists. He can kiss a dude on stage and no one is going to diss him or insult him for that either.
Dude.. Really well done! You as an outsider of the culture got tapped in. Going through the history of la isla is quintessential to tell the story. The gringo Oscar goes to you! 🥂
Dudee, after 8 years in the platform this is EASELY my favorite video ever, not only because of the amazing song choices nor the great effort on the editing and research of it. But because of the message it transmits at the end. I’m watching this from Chile and I felt so close to so much of the reality that is described in the video, and now seeing where bad bunny started and where he ended up, you made me believe again on rooting for the things I truly love. Thank you so much mate, I hope this message ages well with everything you’ll end up producing in the future. Best of luck and congrats on the great work! ❤️🔥🙌🏻🇨🇱🇵🇷
Wow as a huge Bad Bunny fan I have to say you did an amazing job with this documentary. I didn’t know it was done by a RUclipsr lol I thought it was done by a professional network. You are definitely tapping into your gift! Great work man! You absolutely deserve that Medalla and pool! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I was wondering why Residente respected this man so much. Now that I see this documentary I understand. Bad Bunny truly made it organically and working really hard. He also respects and loves his country. Truly a great documentary and I applaud this artist journey
The way you immerse the audience in an experience rather than just stating information is what makes this documentaries really feel like you go on the journey with the artist and follow their story every step. It's inspiring to learn about the stories of people like bad bunny, and helps us find the courage to follow our own inner compass the way he has. Keep these coming.
I cried so many times throughout this video. From one of the most Puerto Rican people you can ever meet: Thank you for portraying our history so accurately and respectfully. Also… you speak about it like you’re from here… Let’s be besties
This is not about the music he made. This is about what he has done with his platform. When people put aside what he sings with what he has done, that’s when people will understand why we love him so much.
I can’t imagine what that first manager feels now that he is bigger than life following his dreams and his vision. He is a musical genius plain and simple
Dude, what an absolute masterpiece of documentary . Your narrative and fact checking are on point, I congratulate you . Bad bunny continues to be a great inspiration to all of us with his work. Sending Love from PR 🇵🇷
i don’t even listen to him but i couldn’t be more happier for him. it seems like he’s great at whatever he does. he topped the charts as a musician and then became a BELOVED wrestler out of nowhere. he’s killing it and i love to see it.
i always disliked his music and thought his style of music and fashion was part of cloud chasing as he came eout of nowhere. i didn't know he came up with it. your video really changed my view of him and j balvin and even though i still dislike the sound i can now easily find huge respect for the artist!
I've liked lots of your videos, but watching one on one of my favorite artists, and seeing how you fit not only the artist's life, but also seeing you talk about latin reality, as a latin person myself, made this video so much better for me and prob made it my favorite one so far
This documentary gave me chills thank you so much for putting this together and for show casing Bad bunny and his influence as well as highlighting the struggles of our Puerto Rican brothers and sister. Much love from your neighbors 🇩🇴 🇵🇷
How is it that this documentary doesn’t have millions of views? This was totally awesome, came in with 0 expectations and ended up watching it all. It’s perfectly made, please keep making more videos like this. Good for you for following your dreams
This was the best documentary i have ever seen. Not only is it about my favorite rapper whos from my town in PR but its also so well made. Its literally a documentary with a bunch of mini documentaries inside of it. so amazing.
No matter my mood, Bad Bunnys music has helped me so much, especially when I am depressed and I need something to make me feel better. Everything about his music (his unique voice, the lyrics and the rhythm) has me addicted and I will always be a huge fan. TE AMOO BAD BUNNY
What a great documentary! I’m feeling emotional with joy, pried and even cried at some parts. My daughters of 22 and 30 listen to his music and I also listen, but I have a new level of respect for Benito aka Bad Bunny. Thank you for putting this together. Dale Benito! Boricua 🇵🇷 🙌🏽 ❤️
Ive been a fan since 2016 (A friend of mine showed me Soy Peor and I was hooked) and it’s felt like a blessing not only watching his fan base grow, but him outwardly dismantling Machismo. I have always appreciated that he uses his platform for good. Boricua artists are so special, we as a people have always risen above being suppressed/silenced. I cannot wait to see this drive and passion put towards working for independence. Que viva PR libre 🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷
TBH I was blown away on how good this documentary was. Timeline was spot on, puerto rican culture was well represented, and all your facts were again spot on. Wish you nothing but the best as a content creator. Keep grinding and enjoy our island.
I saw Bad Bunny in Denver which was first date of his tour. It was sold out. I know a few Spanish words but that doesn't matter. His songs speak to my heart. He is so talented. He spoke Spanish the whole time I loved that. He is authentic he does what he wants he doesn't conform. One of best concerts I've been to!!!
A lot of people in Latin America listen to English music without understanding so we feel the same things not knowing the language. Music is universal language.
@@XX___ It's not just the accent, it's also the slang and anglicisms. For a long time I heard "yales" in songs and just recently found out it means "girls". 🤣
Ive followed him since Soundcloud and Ive always supported and had hope when people use to tell me im crazy that he won't make it far and I always remained that hope that he will he has flavor in music fast forward he is now the number 1 latin artist in the entire world and I cant be anymore prouder of him then ever. I hope one day I can meet him to just hug him he makes music that is relatable and not only that the sense of humor he haves as an individual.
A big round of applause for your documentaries, THIS ONE WAS SPECIAL! I loved him as an artist already, but you guys made me appreciate him as a person and gave an amazingly well done insight in his career path. Keep 'em coming!
Bro this documentary was incredible! I listen to a lot of artists, but it helps when I know a bit about their backstory. So I guess I’ll be going down the Bad Bunny rabbit hole for the next few months now.
Honestly, i want to thank you for making this video and the whole team. It s a great documentary, not only slays the storytelling and the portraying of the career of the talent but it takes into account the social issues that took place in a respectful and neutral way. This is a great representation of the trajectory, the people and the social environment. Cheers
Wow, this is a really nice documented and inspirational story. My girlfriend always talks about him and I wondered about his upbringing aha. Really well put together.
This documentary it’s simply a masterpiece! And not just because of Bad Bunny, is also all the Puerto Rico history that’s on this video. Everything was in point! The translation was perfect also. Simply Amazing! Good job!
God I miss it there😭my family lives really close to where Bad Bunny was brought up. Vega Baja is gorgeous ❤ Hearing some of his music years back ,I wasn’t really sure of at first, but listening to the actual lyrics and what he’s all about, the dudes music has definitely grown on me and I absolutely adore him as a human being. That man is smart, creative, funny, And most importantly, he has a beautiful heart❤🇵🇷
The amount of amazing artists PR has compared to it's size is just bonkers. One of the richest countries in terms of talent and one of the most inluencial alongside Mexico which is soooo much bigger.

Great work again, Jake. Really enjoyed this and learned even more about one of my favorite artists. Great storytelling with necessary history about PR as well. Keep it up sir.
Never liked Bad Bunny's music but I respect his road to success ...this dude just makes commercially successful songs for fun. I'm a musician and just to be at his point of his career is a dream for lots of musicians ... Also this documentary is gold! Dude you're truly worth to subscribe, keep coming with those banging documentaries
I'm guessing you play rock. Doesn't take much talent to do that. Try freestyling to beats like him. That's called a musician plus he writes his own music. So don't say he's not a real musician. It's just not your cup of tea like your music is not my cup of tea
@@rafaeldiaz9203 I actually play a wide variety of genres mostly R&B and soul, but I can play Rock and what not... I also write, produce, mix, master my own music, I don't know what your point is, since I never said he's not a real musician ...but yeah Bad Bunny is someone I feel his music is quite generic from other Latin songs that I've heard before, nothing special to me ... However I respect his road to success thou
Soy puertoriqueña y puedo decir que tu documental es espectacular. ¡Excelente trabajo! Sobre todo en el conocimiento compartido de Puerto Rico. I'm puertorrican and I can say your documentary is spectacular! Great Job! Especially in the shared knowledge of Puerto Rico.
Interesting but at the same time a fan view. Bad Bunny is now a part of the music industry and I don't see him acting different than other mainstream musicians. He is really making money and parterning brands and other musicians to make more money. Also, he is acting as expected for millenials enjoyment. Probably is interesting he took reggeaton for doing that, but there is no more to think or reflect on his music.
As someone who grew up in the lower 48, when I saw your video pop up I had only seen the name Bad Bunny a handful of times on spotify charts. By the end I had shed tears at the lives lost in the hurricane, head bumped to all of his tracks you featured throughout, rejoiced with the protesters after the governor's resignation, watched in awe and aspiration at his courage to dress in full drag for his video, and realized I was just watching with a smile by the end. I think you did his story justice. So much respect for him, and for Puerto Ricans as a whole. I can't believe I have never known about almost any of these things happening in Puerto Rico. You know, nobody comes to mind when I try to draw a comparison to an artist from the mainland US with a similar popularity who has done so much for their community and has pushed our cultures boundaries and opened the eyes of so many. What an amazing role model for the entire world.
I'm so happy and proud of bad bunny I remember in 2015 i found out about him and even though I am salvadoreno he made me even more proud to be salvadoreno his style and his music resonated so much with me and still does he really does carry the hopes and dream of so many. It made this video so amazing for me to watch as well as how well it was made
The most underrated channel out there! The amount of research is commendable and the storytelling is simply fantastic. I love how you included the historical and political analysis in your video. It's so important to get the whole context. Your appreciation of puertorrican/latino culture is plain to see. You truly care about what you tell and it shows. Keep up the great work❤️
wow.. I was not planning on watching the whole thing, but I am so glad I did. this was amazing, I didn't know who this artist was at all, and now I learned a lot and have so much more respect. this documentary was beautifully made and I love how much time & effort u put into this, and it is amazing quality too. this was literally way better than any documentary shown on netflix. and this is an underrated channel, u just gained a sub
As a native, loved this video and how carefully and beautifully it was made. You should make a video about Tainy! His growth and the way he was working with legendary artists of the urban genre when he was a literal teenager and now he's working with international artists. It's very impressive and deserves more recognition tbh.
I was already stanning Bad Bunny before this video, but man do I respect him so so much now as a creative. What a humble guy. And as always, you curate your videos so perfectly. Thanks a lot. Love what you did esp with this one💗💗💗💗💗

My brother in Christ. It’s a video essay
“Desktop documentary” 🤨
Cuando pones can't ya no se pone not, por que ya lo pusiste en el can't, en todo caso seria can not
Came here for Bad Bunny and I’m leaving heartbroken for Puerto Rico :( Los abrazo 🫂 desde acá! 🇲🇽
Puerto Rico will never fall. There are wonderful stories to be documented of the Puerto Rican resilience. Estamos en el aguante pero eso no va a durar mucho tiempo mas.

esto debería estar en netflix en el cine en miles de lados😭
This is easily you're best video to date, so well made, great storytelling, and your attention to detail is spectacular
I Listen to bad Bunny everyday and I don't even speak that much Spanish.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I can’t imagine what that first manager feels now that he is bigger than life following his dreams and his vision. He is a musical genius plain and simple
But have you listened to his music...

When you said Bad Bunny was blessed with “Artistic Talent and Emotional Intelligence” you hit the nail on the head
gay bunny sucks hahahah
i always disliked his music and thought his style of music and fashion was part of cloud chasing as he came eout of nowhere. i didn't know he came up with it. your video
really changed my view of him and j balvin and even though i still dislike the sound i can now easily find huge respect for the artist!
Finally someone that know how to criticize without hate
I've liked lots of your videos, but watching one on one of my favorite artists, and seeing how you fit not only the artist's life, but also seeing you talk about latin reality, as a latin person myself, made this video so much better for me and prob made it my favorite one so far
I am Puerto Rican, and I am blown away by the way the documentary was put together. Thank you for bringing me back!
The problem with this video is that it has some historical events WRONG and all he did was to keep spreading the Leyenda negra

Thank you for doing a documentary on Bad Bunny. I’ve always been curious about his career.
This whole documentary gave me chills
I speak Spanish and I don't understand some of his songs because of the way he pronounces words 🤣
He talks about all the girls he bangs and has sex with in most of his songs. I thought women protested that kind of objectivity

My love for bad bunny just grew 10x more. He's truly one of a kind and is doing amazing things. There's quite no body else like him 🐰🐬❤️
Ive followed him since Soundcloud and Ive always supported and had hope when people use to tell me im crazy that he won't make it far and I always remained that hope that he will he has flavor in music fast forward he is now the number 1 latin artist in the entire world and I cant be anymore prouder of him then ever.

Bad bunny, how a bag boy became the world’s biggest star: He sold his soul, there’s your answer kids
I was looking for this comment💜
This was put together so well! I love how you incorporated his culture and how it reflected on who Bad Bunny is.
That man had so many tracks, he could literally meet the demands and needs of his fans in real time. Props to this Puerto Rico legend!
Honestly, i want to thank you for making this video and the whole team. It s a great documentary, not only slays the storytelling and the portraying of the career of the talent but it takes into account the social issues that took place in a respectful and neutral way. This is a great representation of the trajectory, the people and the social environment. Cheers
Since I'm from Europe i never really wanted to hear Bad bunnys music. This documentary made me think otherwise. Great work.
Since I'm Latino I never wanna here your white boring music either 😂
El mejor video que he visto en este año, se aprecia mucho lo que en realidad es Bad Bunny para Puerto Rico y para Latinoamérica :)

The amount of amazing artists PR has compared to it's size is just bonkers. One of the richest countries in terms of talent and one of the most inluencial alongside Mexico which is soooo much bigger.

It's so important to get the whole context. Your appreciation of puertorrican/latino culture is plain to see. You truly care about what you tell and it shows. Keep up the great work❤️
Absolutely no mention of the fact that he's basically singing and rapping over hip hop beats, just in Spanish. Lol
