This film was never considered overrated, instead, described as one of the hidden gems of the anime industry, only a few hidden gems were far better than all anime we knew(no hate).
Would add Violet Evergarden : Eternity and Auto-memory doll (the first movie after the series) to this list. I know Violet Evergarden is famous; but this gem of a movie is completely un-recognized. One of my favourites. ❤

Me too. The movie conveys how sad immortality is and it does it quite well. The last scene really hit me. I feel like it's one of those hidden gems in anime we don't get to see often
