I have extremely dry skin that foundation clings to and I haven’t been able to wear foundation for years, I brought this 4 weeks ago and it is hands down the best primer I’ve ever used, I can now wear foundation and my make up looks flawless & didn’t budge all day. I’ve spent so much money on very high end primers and this beats them all. I know they changed the make up of it recently so definitely worth you trying it again. This is my holy grail now 🙏🏻
Tip: this is the kind of primer that would probably work best with powder and matte foundation. So if you wear powders and you're having trouble finding a primer that works for it, try this or something similar 💄 😊
Thanks! I’ve been planning on going to Boots ( in the uk ) with my Aunt to help her pick her primer and foundation. I decided to choose this primer and the fenty foundation! I guess I need to find setting powder!

This product works great for my desert skin
For me the smells not strong like at all, And it works great for me I have oily skin and I love this primer.

I have this primer to and I have oily skin also. I also love this primer. It is so cheap and great quality. I love the smell and I believe it was just her face that made the primer shinny and oily.
Definitely, when I used it I was super oily and looked like my face was melting off. I totally agree with you 💕

This worked ok for my very dry skin but I can’t get over the awful melted plastic smell :( I’m going to try to use it up but I will not repurchase! I think it probably performs better on dry skin... but still not the best.

Jenny Feltz i just bought this accidentally because I was trying trying to find the spray. I put it on and I thought that i was going crazy because of the smell. I’m glad to see that even though the smell is awful it’s normal.
what primer do you recommend for dry skin?

as of 10/21/2018, I can confirm that E.L.F has changed this product for the better I'm using a new bottle right now and there is no scent. and i usually smell even unscented products, but this has no scent. it did cost me $6 from target. I think it also pays in the long run to make sure you're buying a fresh product from elf as I'm sure they, like all makeup, expire with time. ♡
Thank you for sharing this. I do think I may have gotten an old product but there is no way for my to really know. I’d definitely consider retrying it. 😘

I actually purchased this two weeks ago and I absolutely hate it because it made my foundation and concrealer sooo cakey so I had to reapply my makeup 3 times till I knew that the problem is with the primer not other products I usually use and good video keep the good work.

I liked the smooth feel, but my foundation rolled into globs that looked lIke peeling skin.
Did you use a matte foundation? This is more meant for dry skin and dewy foundation look and if you have dry patchy skin. I didnt notice a smell im using for first time. Feels good on my skin cuz my face is a full ass sand dune of a dry mess
I really love this primer! Did you moisturize before you put it on? Bc you're supposed to put it on a clean face. It is supposed to serve as your moisturizer as well. That's the only thing I can think u may have done bc when u use it as your moisturizer it makes your face so beautiful and supple. that's my experience anyway

The Elf primer did prevent your face side with it on from absorbing as much of your applied blush as your other side; the blush seemed to stay on your skin surface, not go as deep.
I got this product for my birthday when I turned 13. Yes I know its a bit early to consider putting makeup but my mom allowed it and that's why I decided I needed a primer to help protect my skin. I bought it and asked my sister to look at my stuff, hey! I was an annoying girl and I wanted to show off my stuff. So she looked at the primer and said that I didnt need it. In frustration I used it 10 minutes after she said that and instantly regretted it. I put it on my hand and began applying it to my red spots and areas where it was needed. It caused a huge amount of oil and looked the same but felt so oily on my face. The next day I tried using less, since it was kind of cheap i decided to use more at first but using less didnt help either. After taking my makeup off my face it felt like it was still there, maybe I didnt take it off correctly but I have never had a problem with taking off all of my makeup before. Anyways, the product does suggest that its more hydrating but it left my face looking shiny with my makeup on and sometimes red and patchy after taking it off
Happy belated birthday! 😘🎂 I am not a huge fan of the primer. It did make my face oily and I did not love the smell (though I may have received an old bottle). I started wearing makeup around your age and loved it! I fell in love with makeup after watching the movie Devil Wears Prada and being shocked at how much makeup can transform a person's face. I may do a video featuring some of my favorite affordable makeup items I would wear now if I was starting to wear makeup. But a primer I reviewed recently is MILK Blur stick (video on my channel) and I really enjoyed it! It feels very light-weight and makes your skin look great even without foundation. So you can wear it on it's own and not even need foundation. ❤️
brittany dalton I’m 13 too and it pretty ok using makeup because mostly girl 13 and up use makeup so it ok on 13
I have oily skin and this works perfect for me. But only when I use it before the It cosmetics cc cream. Mine is completely unscented. So I'm thinking you may have gotten an old one and it didn't work with the foundation you used. To give it an honest chance if I were you, I would buy one again from Walmart or the ELF website. Then try it with different foundations you may have and see if it works for you.
Why do I get pilling or flaking when I apply my foundation? I’m sure it’s not my foundation because without the primer, it works fine. But for some reason even after I applied a small amount and letting it dry, it still pills my foundation off.
A hydrating primer will make your makeup look hydrated. If you want a matte or close to matte finish, you can't use a hydrating primer. At least, I can't. I have oily skin that gets extremely dry due to medical issues so I've tried a number of primers and foundations. The hydrating primers always make my foundations look like they're lumi instead of matte.
I have oily skin with dry patches and it’s always a struggle to find something to keeps me matte but not accentuate the dry patches. Thank you for sharing your experience! 💕

I really like it maybe is not your best for your skin remember we all got different skins and is my opinion I do love the smell it make me relax and I recommend it to people to try it they are so many products out there that cost more and do nothing waste money!🙂

Have you found a good primer for dry patchy skin? I use mac sculp foundation and even that goes all patchy.
This one is amazing, I have dry patchy skin that foundation just clings to, so haven’t wore foundation for years, but with this I can use foundation & my skin looks absolutely flawless

I had the pink one I believe & loved it & it smelled nice but my makeup got cakey after a while

Se nota que tiene una piel bastante grasa puesto que está usando una base mate y del lado que no tiene primer se observa la grasitud. A parte que el polvo que usa es muy poco para sellar la base. Este tipo de primers siliconados en pieles grasas suelen tener ese efecto. Producir más grasa en un tiempo más corto. Entonces la recomendación es: usarlo en pieles secas y si es en pieles grasas usar bases mate y un buen sellado con polvo.
Idk if it was my foundation but when I applied it and blend. My foundation wouldn’t apply in certain areas but when I use fenty moisturizer then foundation it feels better no primer
Is it bad to yse hydrating products for oily skin?? Im not that oily mostly in the creases of my nose.
My skin is dry, but I had the same effect. I didn’t like it at all.

Cassie3angel , did you try it yet? I just bought it and did my make up and hmmmm, I have really dry skin I'm old 46, my skin feels greasy and my powder is caking under my eyes😢 I would pass on this one. But your young so...who knows. smell wasn't bad tho.

I have to be honest, I haven't tried that foundation, but I always wanted to! So as soon as I get my hands on I will definitely do a review. Haha we're oily skin twins! 🙈😘 I did just purchase MAC Prep & Prime Fix spray so I'm hoping that will help with my oily skin. I will do a review on that at some point too. 💕

This product is also offered for all different kinds of skin types I believe you applied too much product, I noticed you also applied your makeup with the same Beauty blender on both sides of your face. The product could have been on both sides of your face.I'm just saying .

no it doesn’t smell bad when you put it on your face it’s just by itself it smells bad

The smell doesn't bother me. You mentioned that you have acne. Maybe the formula is not right for your skin type? I have dry skin and need the extra hydration.

I used the blemish control primer and I hate it. For me it does literally nothing. Primer should make your skin feel smooth and it didn't make my makeup last either
I have a hard time with finding food primes that a) (just like you said) make my skin feel smooth, b) don't break me out, and c) don't cause the foundation to look caked. 🤷♀️
The thing I hate about this primer is the like sticky feeling it leaves I hate the feel on my face

Think all the Elf products are a ripoff.. nice container.. but there are actually 3 different containers inside.. the one with the product is soooooooo small...... even though it's priced well.. it's a joke...

Actually it's not. You still get the same amount of product it lists on the bottle, people are just emptying it, then not pulling the stopper of the pump back down when they refill it with water to make supposed scam videos.

I looked up this video because I was wondering why it smelled so bad. It smells like paint primer for your walls not your face. Not sure if I will keep using it.
