this is sick dude! also just wondering, what keybinds do you use?
Thank you ! My keybinds are:
WASD for movement (actually, it's ZQSD because I don't use a QWERTY keyboard, but you get the idea xD)
Space to jump
Then my right hand is on the numpad :
Numpad 8 to blink
Numpad 7/9 for blue/red cape
Numpad 6 for axe
Right arrow for slide (my thumb is on it, the other fingers are on the numpad)
And, for the last trick (this will be a bit long, sorry =p): Up arrow for frame perfect blink-canceled stomps ^^. If you bind the same key for "blink" and "slide", pressing it will do, on the same frame, a stomp THEN a blink, canceling the stomp immediatly and keeping nearly all your horizontal momentum (that's what I use at 13:20 for example). And you can bind keyboard controls in the gamepad menu, so you can use the gamepad menu as "secondary" binds.
The thing is, the game doesn't allow you to bind the same key to two different actions, so the trick is to use the "revert to default" option. For example, "up arrow" is the default key for "Keyboard blink", so to reproduce my setup, you have to:
- Set "Gamepad blink" to "Numpad 8" (your real keybind)
- Set "Gamepad slide" to "Right arrow" 'your real keybind)
- Set "Keyboard blink" to any value (let's say "H")
- Set "Keyboard slide" to "Up arrow"
- Revert "Keyboard blink" to the default value
And tada! Up arrow is now a frame-perfect blink-canceled stomp!
The problem with that method is that you can only bind this on one of the default keys, which is limited, so it is also tolerated to modify the config file "string-custom_actions.yaml" that is in Teslagrad 2 appdata folder (AppData/LocalLow/Rain/Teslagrad 2) to add a bind of you choice for this. I also have my Numpad4 bound for frame-perfect blink-canceled stomps, but I have the habit of using the up arrow xD.
Unfortunately, all these options are not available on console, and are required for the boring map traversal at the end of the run. But fortunately, a brand new speedrun route has been discovered near christmas that could avoid the need of such a keybind ^^! The community is still figuring things out, so no runs have been done with it before, but I'll release some videos soon to explain everything ^^.
Sorry, you just asked for my keybinds and here I am, ranting for hours xD.
@@MetalFoxDioxymoreThank you so much! i really really appreciate it. i’ve been really wanting to get into speedrunning teslagrad 2 and this really helped a lot. i’m looking forward to seeing what new runs you make in the future.
❤❤
@@ihbShiloh No problem, it's my pleasure =). To start speedrunning Teslagrad 2, I would recommand starting with the old route, that doesn't skip Huldr (MagicJadron's 21:53 is a good example of it: www.speedrun.com/teslagrad2/runs/z5kk2pnz ). This route is waaaay more enjoyable than this one and teaches you more mechanics, so as a discovery, it's way better ^^. During that time, the community will figure out and document the new any% route, so this one will (hopefully) be deprecated soon anyway ^^.
@@MetalFoxDioxymore Yea, that route seems a lot more viable and would probably be better if i started there now that you said it.
I'm gonna try that out for a bit and see how it goes. Thank you so so much man!
@@ihbShiloh You're welcome =)! Don't hesitate if you have any more questions, or just if you want a review of your run to see if I can give some advice =)
