can anyone explain what was on 2:12? i'm usually really bad at telling apart live singing and lip-sync, but this looks like they sing live. But what was it here, pre-recording or smth?
Zemfira Safina I dont think theres such a thing as pre recording at concerts. Those are for music shows. The songs played at concerts (for HIGHLIGHT/BEAST at least cos idk about others) are 3/4 cut so they have to sing live but 1/4 the voice will play because they need to take a break sometimes.
Zemfira Safina thats backtrack(the original or recorded music)..that they usualy use..all of kpop are use backtrack when they're singing.but for beast/highlight..the backtrack sound are not really loud ( i dunno bout others group)..so we can clearly hear their original live voice.as i know since i become their fans..they always sing live..the backtrack are not too loud as their live voice..and in every concert..they use band music more than use the recorded music for backtrack.that means they always sing live with the band music

In the earlier part of this concert, there was a live band playing and for the rest of the concert, they mainly used backtracks (instrumental with their vocals in a soft volume). How backtracks work is that when they sing into the microphone, you cannot hear the backtrack vocals. But when they don't sing, like what Hyunseung did here, you can hear his pre-recorded voice. He treats the backtrack as a backup vocal so that he can take a quick rest in between his lines. To answer your question, technically, yes, they used backtracks with pre-recorded singing. But as you can see, most of the members sang throughout the entire song and didn't take a break the way Hyunseung did. But they all sang live.
