Cafe Bustelo is so underrated. And also underpriced, but don't tell them that. If you love just pure coffee, Bustelo shines with no sugar, no milk, just medium to strong, and black. It achieves what very few coffees can at about a fifth of the cost of popular coffees.
I tried Bustelo for the first time last week. But I made the mistake of running it through my commercial Bunn O Matic. I think I'm convinced that I need a Bialetti.
Agree, I grew up in a latin house hold so all I know is Bustelo. A few of my friends (non latin) are really into coffee and when I mentioned Bustelo, their reaction was it was not great quality. I used my grandmothers process and made them believers.
I've lived in South Florida all my life, drank more Cuban coffee than most; with your video, I finally made my own Cuban coffee. Thank you very much for taking the time to make this video. My coffee turned out great.
I've been drinking Bustello since early '80s in Manhattan.. it was a buck a can in the bodega across from me on Ludlow St. It has been the ONLY coffee I want to drink.. for decades. And then you hit me with this... thank you so much.
@@Ash-oh6nhI believe it has roughly twice the caffeine as American coffee. Not to mention the added sugar. So no I wouldn't do this on a daily basis 😆
I feel so privileged to make this. I blast this song as I make it and my friends know they are in for a treat. Nothing but smiles. And for an amazing treat sometimes I half thaw a high quality vanilla ice cream and stir it in. Serve in a parfait cup. Thank you for making this video. Thank you🙂
I have been drinking this coffee in a drip coffee pot for years. I just set my coffee pot by the curb. I have never even heard of this, thank you so much ✌️
@@Levy_Wilson but it was a family owned passion product. The roasting process and quality are the same. Also the aren't owned by Folger's, they are owned by Smuckers who owns Folger's. Folger's has zero impact on Bustelo.
Came here for the coffee recipe but enjoyed the music so much I subscribed 😂 !!!!!!! Love it 🥰 Will be ordering the coffee pot and following your Recipe. 👍 💜
Can someone please clarify the mix ? Was that sugar and something else ? Or sugar only . Tried several times and didn’t look anything close to that. I really want to make this work . Mine tasted like coffee with cotton candy SOS help !! . Also how do you get the frothy crema look ?
Jacob He used the heat of the coffee to caramelize the sugar. Hot coffee changed the color and foamed. You have to stir for a bit. Then added more coffee to it.
It's a Bialetti Moka Express. A good tutorial for the traditional Italian way to use it is the "Annalisa J Moka pot" video. She explains it in detail for beginners.
Maybe it's just me but I find this video very confusing. I see you place the mocha on the stove. Then a short time later there's an overhead view, where you're spooning in the sugar, but the moka is being prepared by someone else. Again, maybe it's me. You also state you want those first few drops of coffee to mix into the sugar. Do you then put the Moka back on the stove to finish brewing? I've been making Bustelo in a Moka for years, and just add sugar to my cup. I loved your finished product though!
There is 39 grams of sugar in 12oz of cola. Each of those spoons were at least 13 grams. You did 3 plus that 4th spoon. (13*3) + 7 = roughly 46 grams of sugar.
Jordan Ball............ You dropped the ball on 3 heaping ''scoops'' of sugar. What the heck is a ''heaping scoop''? A heaping teaspoon, a tablespoon, what??
OH I THINK BEFORE WILL BE BETTER WAY , SORRY I DID NOT LIKE THE WAY YOU DID THAT , I AM CUBAN AND I KNOW VERY WELL ABOUT THE GOOD CUBAN COFE MAKE THE BEST WAY !!! SORRY I DID NOT LIKE THE WAY YOU DID !!! ;-( MAKE ME SAD ;-(
Cafe Bustelo is good stuff, but anyone who puts that much sugar in their coffee obviously doesn't enjoy the taste of coffee. That looks disgusting! How can you even taste the coffee with that much sugar. Why don't you just dump the whole container of sugar into the milk and just forget about adding any coffee. That's not coffee, it's a milkshake.
Would you stop with sugar. It's backwards and masks the real taste of the beans. Stop masking bad coffee. The foam is visual only it's not real espresso foam
Have enjoyed Bustelo for nearly 50 years. Also enjoyed watching this video. Listening to “Chan Chan” made it the best!
Love that song!

Great coffee and love you played Chan Chan. I’ll have to try this style of making cafe Bustelo.
Thanks for this post. My cafecito came out perfect. I've tried other recipes but this one is simple and delicious.
Just discovered this coffee..blows folgers and Nescafe outta the water. Been searching for a good coffee since forever. 😊
Folgers owns Cafe Bustelo.

Mi hija me regalo un paquete de Bustelo lo traje a mi país y me quede encantado por su sabor, gran cafe.
What a great Video! Im going to the store to pick this up! Did you mix Sugar in to get that thick and creaminess texture?
This looks sooooooo good! I can't wait to try it. Thank you!
Thank you for this video! Absolutely excellent coffee. I subbed the sugar for condensed milk and it's absolutely mind blowingly creamy and tasty.
How do you do the condensed milk? Slow mix like that? Froth it? Heat it? Pour it? I wanna try it like that too
So beautiful, original and good cup of coffee
Love the music
Thank you! it’s my first time making coffee with this pot
That song is dope
Sometimes I make it like this or as a Cortadito. Love Cafe Bustello, been drinking it for years!
That coffee looks superb, Jordan. I can taste it all the way over here in Adelaide, South Australia.
"Se me sale la babita, yo no lo puedo evitar"....Chan Chan! Bustelo is soooo good.

Nice video.
hah I always thought my older family was just weak sauce but when u make it like that u really do need a small cup
Nice
Anyone with Latin parents will know this too well
I've never tried cafe bustelo before! I gotta try it soon though! Also, does anyone know what the song in the background is called?
It’s called “Chan Chan” by Buena Vista Social Club.
Factoid: this song opens the birthday celebration scene in the Netflix series “sense8”
that looks delicious ..
What were you saying at the end?
i have a dumb question: why not just add the sugar in the basket with the coffee ?
J. S you wont get the espuma (foam)
you need to whip the sugar to get the foam, if the sugar was in with the coffee you would have sweet coffee with no foam
Nooooo
What size machinetta was that?
What is the name of the coffee pot?

wow, I've been making it soooo wrong! haha, thank you for this video. what is the name of the brewing pot?
+david meza It's called a moka pot :) I swear by mine!! The best brand to get is Bialetti
I have several moka pots in which I make coffee. Now that I see how true Cuban coffee is made, I’m going into the kitchen and . . .
whats the song tittle ?
It taste better with brown sugar for me.

Aw, the one thing we just don't get here in Seattle, Cuban coffee.
I followed the steps but not the sugar part and maybe that’s why I didn’t get no foam lol but still good
#Boom
I did something wrong... The "espuma" :) is nonexistent for me. I'll try again.

Yes but it made 3 cups. When was the last time you saw 3people share a can of soda🙃
Regina Singleton Good point! Cheers! ☕️
3 tbsp of sugar equals out the same amount of sugar as 1 can of cola.
But he splits it 3 ways, into 3 different cups
was that sugar in the begining.
Not supposed to press the grounds into the basket. Big no no!
my guess by viewing numerous times, that is a tablespoon

I cant even get the bottom off😭
Diabetes in a cup

This is how they do it in Cuba. Try it before you knock it.
It still very much so tastes like strong coffee even with that much sugar. (It’s espresso... 🤦🏻♀️) Super good.
$2.86 at Aldi - and tastes like it.
