This is one reason why I love the X-files so much and its the relationship between Mulder and Scully. They do have many common denominators but also many discrepancies. Despite differences they make it work and it feel very authentic and natural. They respect each other. I hope I can find something like this in the future. In the meantime: Shut-up I'm playing ⚾️ 🤣😎

And just shows that when the writing’s given over to people who know these characters, the crock about platonic relationships is dutifully ignored. Thanks DD. The scene with the ice cream at the beginning of this ep is also fabulous! I wish the revival had focused more on these types of episodes and not the darkness it turned to. Moulder and Scully forever.

DD delivered the goods, knew what the show was, and what it's entire chemistry turned on, CC, while being a genius, missed intentionally the gold that all the viewers had banked on, still hasn't made it right, doubt it ever will be. ....Think of this scene as the end of it, and they ride off into the sunset, can't get better than that...or, perhaps a final meeting on the diamond after another 6 episodes, they meet there again and take us down memory lane and add a final long smooch, can't get better than that.
I watched this show in middle school back in the 90s so I’m doing a proper rewatch now and I just want to say that there’s no way they arnt at least in some way a couple at this point. The previous episode Scullys feelings were ousted and now here they are so flirty and handsy and that is not how they typically are u less something dramatic is going down.
I can't get enough of these two. They're the best and most adorable (unofficially) married couple ever. Their chemistry and love for each other is simply amazing. Even most officially married couples don't have this kind of chemistry, respect, trust and love as Mulder & Scully have for each other. The X-Files should've ended with Mulder & Scully finally getting married.
It was a very poignant scene because it was the last of the humorous the happy. It got very dark and tense and sad after that. For the last time we saw Scully and Mulder happy and laughing.
