- Setting up the first month in my new 2024 Sterling Ink Common Planner is a bit more daunting than I anticipated. Though the size is the same as I'm used to, some of the layouts are a bit different, so I'm navigating what works best for me. Follow along as I talk through my setup for January.
Thanks for watching!

You can make a new recipe or two each month. Love your layouts.
Yes! That’s a great idea. Thank you 😊
4th category: maybe "Eating"? try something new each month or a new recipe each month... Love your set-up videos :) Happy New Year!
Love this! A friend just gave me the same idea to use it to document something new I’m trying each month. Thanks!
Ha! I just realized I laid down the decorative sticker wrong when I filmed my January setup! Haha! Maybe I can fix it! Loved your video, thanks for sharing! ❤. Happy New Year!
Oh no! Even though I looked at that sticker so many times before filming, I honestly didn’t realize it’s a staircase until just before sticking it down 😂 Thank you so much for watching and happy new year to you, too!
Forgive me if I missed this. In the quarterly spread (where you placed your color palette for the month), where are those month images from that are on the left page (the ones with the big first letter and stacked smaller letters)?
Hi Debbie. I briefly mentioned them in my setup video. They’re the LCN ticket month stamps. I got mine from Yoseka Stationery but I recently saw that Paper Game restocked them.

@@MartinMadeCo Thank you!
@@MartinMadeCo also, it’s always great to see a fellow leftie into fountain pens!
I love your style! Which subscription do you have from Sterling Ink? I want to order but unsure which level I want. I started this year with a Hobonichi A5 (which is a little too big) and SI N2 (which is a little too small) but now think I'm going to order a SI N1 and primarily plan and journal in that size, especially after seeing your beautiful pages.
Thank you! 😊 I get the deluxe subscription kit. But I must admit that I haven’t been able to use up most of the stickers each month, so I’m thinking of dropping back down to the smaller kit. Even with that smaller kit, I found the number of stickers included was more than enough for me.
@@MartinMadeCo thank you for the response and I was thinking the full subscription also
Love your video. With the January calender vellum you got from Sterling Ink, did you print the calender part out on the vellum paper yourself or was it already pre printed on the paper from her shop?
Hi! The monthly calendar did come from the Sterling Ink subscription kit. I have printed them at home (using the freebies on the Facebook group), and they do turn out well. Sometimes they’re not as vibrant as the ones directly from the shop but I’m sure that depends on the paper and printer used at home.
@@MartinMadeCo I do see the calendar vellums on her shop. Thanks so much for your help.
New here and I Love your planning videos! Do pretty much use Sterling Ink stickers or do you use any other companies?
I use Sterling Ink almost exclusively. I’m definitely open to other companies but I haven’t quite found any that fit my planning style. There are so many new stationery companies coming out, though, so I’m excited to try out others this year!
I can’t wait to see what you do. Please keep posting your set ups
If you do listening you can track podcasts
That’s a great idea! I do usually “fall off” from podcasts and this might help me remember to tune in more often.
Hi I only just realised your left handed please would you do a video fur brush lettering for lefties? X
I’m so flattered you think my lettering is any good! 😆 I think if I zoomed in you might think differently. I definitely still need a lot more practice and have only come across a few tutorials for lefties. Here are 2 that I’ve found helpful:

January & February subs are gorgeous
They certainly are!
Literally half my clothes are navy blue LOL thats why I love this months stickers from Sterling Ink
Hahaha! At first I wasn’t so sure about the darker colors in this month’s kit, but I love it
@@MartinMadeCo I'm surprised with you loving navy blue! I am getting bored with the light colors
@melodiemusic9956 Yes! Definitely a good change of pace
I’m putting the die cut stickers in the front cover as a collage along with any merch stickers I get from orders (Yoseka, Esterbrook, Kaweco, Goulet) otherwise I would probably put them on the monthlies.
That’s a great way to use them up. I feel so guilty when they go to waste!
Outings could be the 4th or date nights, “places” to visit or home projects. For us we choose one big home project to tackle a month. Maybe that could be something to focus on each month.
Oh projects! That’s a great one! Tackling home projects is high on my list this year, so I think that’s exactly what I’ll use that 4th spot for. Thanks for the idea!
I like the swatch page idea. That’s a great use of that space.
Thanks!
Absolutely beautiful!!
Thanks so much Dana!
