  • As part of the fall 2018 season of our #OnCivilSociety series, we invited Rebecca Traister to discuss her new book "Good and Mad", a week after the historic U.S. midterm elections, where a record number of women were elected in the midterms: Americans elected the first two Muslim women and the first two Indigenous women in Congress; Americans also elected more than 20 black women to Congress, as well as the youngest woman ever elected to Congress (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez).
Traister discussed the importance of women's rage in shaping politics, and the ways in which this anger has been brushed aside and ignored by the patriarchy.
The host for this talk was Jeet Heer, staff writer for The New Republic, literary critic, comics critic, and Twitter essayist (@HeerJeet).
