I just received the X4800H and have a couple of issues with it. First, the subwoofer setup in Audyssey does not work. The on screen setup tells you to turn up the subwoofer to 75db but it stays at 30db on screen no matter how high the volume is in the subwoofer. Secondly. I get frequent audio drops that are only a split second while watching TV on the ARC. I will return it if Denon doesn’t have a fix. BTW, it is running the latest firmware.
Oh strange, wonder if you just got a bad unit. Mine is working without issue. Get Denon to just send u a new unit. I didn't have to do any firmware updates
@@StereoWars I bought it on sale at Amazon. They don’t offer exchanges only refunds. It’s not on sale anymore so I’ll probably look at the Yamaha A8 now.
I did drive a 4 ohm speakers with it and i think as long as you don't turn it up too loud than it won't distort as much. According to Denon's spec, it's rated 125W 8 ohm 20Hz-20kHz, 0.05% THD w/ 2 channels driven, but notice at 165W 6 ohm 1kHz, 0.7% 2 channels driven the distortion levels raise and it's only rated at 1kHz instead of the wide band. It doesn't even mention 4 ohms, so I would suspect this receiver doesn't handle low impedance that well, or at least it will distort a lot at 4 ohms.
Yeah the 6700 will get you 2 more internal channel amps. I went for the 4800 cuz I'll know I'll want 4 subs one day, n want to play with Dirac. And my system is 7.2.4 right now, I don't plan to add any more channels so the 11.4 ch processing on the 4800 is good enough for me. With the 6700 if u add an external 2 ch amp you can run 13.2 ch total. 4800 I think has more capable HDMI ports than 6700.
Really good deal right now on this avr slickdeals.net/f/16969894-denon-avr-x4800h-9-4-channel-8k-network-av-receiver-1399-free-s-h?src=SiteSearchV2Algo1
the X3800H dropped in price to $1500 a week or so ago. i typically wait until black friday for these but been waiting too too long to upgrade my home theatre so went ahead and got the X4800H
not worth $1,000 premium over 3800. Yes, japan manufacturer, yes more power, yes discrete power, but still not enough for certain setups like 13.4 or 15.4 dts, etc. Full blown Dirac is another $800 anyway and there will be no discounts there: europeans are greedy as hell. And still no backlit remote. Even $6000 top of the line marntz customer complains about it. Omglol, denon like nikon sink into disaster.
Just bought the x4800 and in some areas the price is a little over $500 more than the x3800. The Black Friday Special is freakin awesome. Cheers!!
X4800 can be had for $1299 at Adorama, or $900 for the x3800, really great deal
Awsome!! Coolest unboxing I've seen so far
Epic intro!!
Great unboxing!
Thank you 🤗

What is that music playing all along? Great music.. but couldn't find it in links 👍
it's called Trap Hamza by Arulo. you can download it here: mixkit.co/free-stock-music/mood/mellow/, and scroll down to Trap Hamza
How does it play in stereo?
For stereo only is really good as long as your speakers are 8 ohms and not 4 ohms. You can do stereo with subwoofers on as well

I am doubting between this 4800 and the older 6700. Will the 6700 ne as good or better than the 4800? I dont need Dirac en 4 subs

@@StereoWars Thank you for your reaction. The 2.1 hdmi port are useless I think. Only Xbox and PS5 uses this. And I dont have either 🙂
Just bought and received the 6700 and am on the moon. What a sound. What a quality. Love it!
@@jelleschaftenaar4669 very cool!!! Glad to hear it sounds great. What setup are you running? 7.2.4 or 9.2.2 or 7.2.6 or 9.2.4?
@@StereoWars now only 5.1.2 but will soon be 7.1 (or 2).4
