I love that your videos are focused on the a6000. Buying it this year as a beginner photographer, I was worried I would eventually regret it because it would be too outdated, especially with newer models recently announced. But it is so nice to see there is still this community online who continue to support and enjoy using this camera! Would love to see a tutorial for a beginner trying to shoot manual for the first time.
For my 60th birthday, my mom bought me a Sony a6000. I have always used Canon for years. But this year I go a Sony and I was very unhappy with it at first and sought to exchange it for a Canon mirrorless. (BUT Then) at the camera store, they reeled me in hook line and sinker. I bought the Manual Focus 35mm; I was hooked. I recently bought a 50mm Manual focus based on your video recommendations. Actually, I have bought more lenses for my Sony than I have ever bought for either one of my Canons. But this manual focus for Sony a6000 is so much fun. Yes, Fun, did I say Fun, yes Fun.
that bokeh on the neweer was amazing! I love that at least one person on RUclips is helping people explore less expensive options that still are great quality
You sold me the Footasy on your review from a year ago, when I still hadn't got the a6000. Now that I do and I'm a broke college student, budget friendly lenses are all I can look for. Thank you for your videos on the a6000. Very helpful!
I just started doing street photography and have been looking for a manual lens for my a6000 for several weeks. I like your comparison shots, they helped me make a decision. Thanks for the review.
You’re videos are not only the reason I picked up a Sony A6000 last year but they’re also the reason I continue to explore using my camera (additional lens and all) I love it so much! Please continue to make amazing content! 🤗
Your Channel and videos were a big part for me to consider buying Sony a6000 and loved every guide you did for the camera and now with lenses! Keep the videos coming!
Your puppy is too adorable. He/she looks like such a model. Also, I noticed the speck in the Fotasy bokeh before I saw the comparison shots. This is an amazingly comprehensive video that I am extremely grateful for. If I HAD to choose just one...it would be the Neewer...but I may honestly just grab them all. I’ll most likely get the Neewer first as it had the most consistency in quality photos for me.
If you dont mind me asking. I too am looking at that neewer lens. What kind of photos do you take and how have they turned out? I personally am trying to get out and do some more landscapes and light street photography. (maybe just to expand my lens arsenal but dont tell the GF lol)
I actually just purchased the a6000 camera a couple of days ago and just subscribe to your channel today as I was looking for tips and it has been so informative as I am a beginner in the photography world. I have already binged watched like 5 videos already lol. Can not wait to see more! Thank you so much!
Awesome breakdown of these manual lenses. Thanks to your videos, I decided to get a sony a6000 and I feel like I'm learning something new about it every day
Lately I find myself too indolent to speak, talking is exhausting, no? I've been having the urge to not to speak at all. The less I speak, the more I am able to observe myself and the living. Kyle, I’m not a professional photographer but I do love take photo to capture every important moments, especially with family occasion, since its rare to have these moment. & I like how every person in the world have no clue HOW or WHEN we will cross our path in this beautiful life. In fact, that my life and yours already did when I bought A6000, you’ve no idea how your video tips/lens review help my journey in my photography a lot! I really thankful for the video that you’ve uploaded every time & I hope you won’t stop uploading about a6000. There might be a lot of people who talk bad about you Kyle, but please have faith that there’s ME or two person in the world waiting for your new a6000 video. Despite all that, have a good one Kyle with your life, glad that our life cross path with.
I love my A6000. Your channel is actually one of the reasons I decided on getting it. I recently got a 50mm lens. I wanted a 35mm but there wasn’t one available. I definitely love how those shots came out on the lenses!
Awesome Vid. Former wedding photog who decided to pick up a camera again in the hopes of teaching my daughter. New to the mirrorless world and also to the SONY system. Thanks
Thanks for the content, as a result i binge watched all your A6000 videos I went out and brought a A6000 for around 370 dollars with the cashback here in the UK a month ago, 10 days later we visited New York's and have come back with some great photos. Keep up the good work.
As someone new to photography (with handheld cameras), with an a6000, I find your videos to be quite informative and the equipment reviews are spot on and even have directed me to what items I purchase. Keep up the good work!
I bought the a6000 camera a couple of months ago as a starter, I did some browsing on videos to get to know better my camera and I found your channel, since then I have been subscribed. Thanks to your video on the 35mm vs 50mm lenses I got the 50mm, looking for the 35mm :)
Love your channel. You convinced me to purchase an a6000 about a month ago and I have no regrets. Really liked the comparison and had no idea some lenses were so cheap! I honestly really liked the Fotasy.
Been watching your videos for over a year! Started with the why sony a6000 is an awesome camera. After watching that video I was convinced to buy one myself. Been practicing with the kit lens ever since. Watched all your tutorial vids and the tips and tricks one. Keep up the great work! I appreciate these budget photography and accessory videos for less well of photographers like me.
Thank you for all your videos on camera tutorials and tips! Got a A6000 a few months ago for my trip to Japan and still learning bit by bit. Hope to be able to take stunning photos like you and all my photographer friends one day.
Thank you so much for doing this! I am a fairly recent a6000 owner who is just learning the ropes. Your videos have been a great help to me. I learn something from every one. To be honest, I would be happy with any of these lenses. It would fill a gap in my lens collection and help me get my feet wet with manual focus.
Great stuff! Imagine having a 300 dollar setup (a6000 and the brighten star) and shooting great low light pictures. Next year I’ll be headed to Tokyo, I feel these are great lenses to just chuck in your bag and let the photos be photos.
The first box is a giveaway. The lens is for CCTV security video camera ie C mount and fotasy attach a adapter to use with Sony E mount.. So the market is open to CCTV lenses , some of them have quite a character..
Been following your vids ever since your first Fotasy giveaway - you've covered so much information about the a6000, and I'm happy to see where you go from here!
Very helpful - thank you. I splurged and got an 6400 with the 18-135 kit lens and sort of overwhelmed with the features. I love the idea of these smaller manual cheap lenses to try out. I just can’t go out and drop another $200+ on more lenses, but < $75 is more up my alley. The Neewer looked the best, but they seem fairly close, and I like the slightly better build quality. Any wide-angle lenses to recommend at this price point?
I think there may be some 12mm options, or a 28mm. I’m looking I to doing another video like this in the coming weeks. Also that combo you have is niceeeee. The 18-135 is an awesome lens, definitely not a “kit” lens like some think.
Thanks for another great video Kyle, I'm a subscriber from Alaska! I have an a6000 so I always watch to learn more. Thanks for sharing these 3 lenses with us and for having a giveaway!
I really like your videos. I just bought the A6400, in part so I can introduce my wife to the a6000. She wants to learn photography. Thanks for your dedication and all I’ve learned from your videos.
Awesome video. Been thinking of getting a manual lens and this fit the bill. Keep up the good work! I think after watching this video I might want to try the neewer
I follow the different photographers, each have a different style of presentation and purpose. What I like most about yours, besides the fact your a local to me, is that you keep it simple. No big scientific photography words to confuse me, just simple terminology. You also seen to focus on budget friendly items and definitely keep a primary focus to your audience. This video was great. From the description of each, the honesty is what you liked and didn't liked, and again the budget friendliness of each. The examples were really informative too, especially at the end with the bokeh.... You could really see the difference. Thanks!!
Going to have to get one of these lenses! Always looking to upgrade lenses and it seems like I usually get something you have reviewed, LOVE the Sigma 16mm! Thanks for the informational videos, they have really helped my photography get better!
Your RUclips channel helped me pick my camera and it continues to help me learn more and more about my camera system. Thank you for making these videos! Keep up the great work. I currently only have a kit lens and would love to add more lens to my camera bag!
Super stoked about this give away! I just picked up the a6000 and I'm a complete newb but im really excited about these lenses. I would love to get the 50mm 1.8 sony lens once it's in the budget but these little guys look like so much fun to mess around with and help me learn more about my camera. Thanks for the vids!
@@kyletaggart great to know! Ive been sitting here watching your videos all day trying to take in as much as I can and I saw your video comparing that to the 35mm. Shout out to us philly locals to btw!
Never normally comment, but I'm a sucker for a competition! Just got an A6000 last week, coming from a 12 year DSLR, and your straightforward hints and tips vids have been really helpful in getting to grips with a more modern and condensed form factor! Thanks muchly 👍
I had a manual lens but had to get the lens adapter at the time, put extra weight on my a6000 so I sold the lens just saved for a AF. For that reason, these little gems are worth investing in.
great review! just purchased an a600 thanks to your other reviews and I am really enjoying it so far. I didn't even think of using a manual lens for this camera to get some budget lenses to start expanding my skills before investing further into more expansive lenses/
Honestly the info you give is very intuitive. I started a year ago full on doing photos. Its been an adventure. My girlfriend recently got very interest and she loves the old school stuff. I'd definitely think I'm going to get her the bright star one she would love it. Thank you for the gift advice too. Much love and respect brother. Keep doing what you do. God bless. 🙏😁🤙📷
Great video, I like what I saw about the Bright Star lenses. Manual lenses force me to think about what I'm viewing and the settings on my A6000 to get the best results.
Kyle, man, I'm glad you're making this kind of content. I'm new to the photography world, a6000 in hand, and its refreshing that I am discovering an older camera along with someone who is more knowledgeable. I like the Neweer btw, it has good bokeh for the price!
I am also challenged in the realm of sight. It's been my goal to learn how to run my camera in full manual, 35mm lens included. Until I found this video, I felt completely defeated, and was ready to give my gear to the nearest trash can. I can't say I have a full grasp on the rest of it, still, I can comfortably use a manual lens... it's a start. You're the best!
Great video Kyle! Really dig the lenses in the video. Out of the three, I like the Neewer lens. It’s awesome to see creators like you because yes it’d be nice to have the most expensive equipment/gear. But in actuality it’s not always necessary. Keep up the great work.
I got the Sony a6000 a few weeks ago and am really enjoying watching your videos about it. I'm going to be traveling around three countries in December and want to make sure I get some great picture but maintain the compact size of the a6000. Any suggestions on a lense that is good for travel?
If you want a SMALL lens that's good for a lot of diff times of stuff, I'd suggest the Sony 35mm f1.8. It's pricy but it's my favorite lens and the one I use 99% of the time. (I have a video on it). A one size fits all lens that is great for more uses is the 18-135mm, I have a video on that too!
Which lens did you like best?! If you're looking to pickup of those lenses you can here > kit.com/hikyletaggart/sony-a6000-lenses-for-under-100 . Also good luck to everyone on the giveaway!
The Brighten Star lens looks interesting. Thanks.
I like the Brightenstar the best, but all of them are interesting. By the way, I love your dog! Love it when you use him as a model.
Haha always! Thanks
I'm digging the neewer
I'm probably gonna go for the Neewar! Or other options around $100 for 35mm

I like the Brighton Star, thank you for still showing love to the a6000, I'm glad you still make tutorials for it. Great video.

that bokeh on the neweer was amazing! I love that at least one person on RUclips is helping people explore less expensive options that still are great quality

I had a manual lens but had to get the lens adapter at the time, put extra weight on my a6000 so I sold the lens just saved for a AF. For that reason, these little gems are worth investing in.
Good points right there. I hate adapters.
This is incredible, I'm super on budget and your videos are helping me a ton to get the best out of this cam! Would love any of this lens
I didn’t know they made lenses in this price range, this is awesome to find out!
Plenty more too!
Thank you for creating these videos. They've been really helpful in learning how to use the A6000.
Thanks Wayne!
great review! just purchased an a600 thanks to your other reviews and I am really enjoying it so far. I didn't even think of using a manual lens for this camera to get some budget lenses to start expanding my skills before investing further into more expansive lenses/
Exactly! Great way to test things out.
Brilliant stuff man! I got an A600 because of you and have to say I love it. Looking to buy a new lens, the Neewer looks dope!
We really enjoy your videos. We got the Sony a6000 and your tips have made it much more worthwhile. THANKS!!!
Thanks so much Jerry!
Nice video... I love using manual lenses on my SONY a6000. The one's I have are vintage lenses. .. Thanks!!
Ohhhh vintage!
God bless. 🙏😁🤙📷
Anytime! The manual lenses take practice, but with focus peaking it really helps. Good luck!
I buy my A6000 before month ago, and you videos help me a lot! Thank you for helping me and don't stop share with us :)
Won’t stop!!
I love all your video !! I bought a sony 6000 because of you ! Thanks for all the tips !
Big love
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thanks for the video. Was waiting for someone to review some lenses that wouldn't bankrupt some amateur photographers. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Andrew, photography can be pricey.
I’ve been using some these budget lenses, and they’re awesome. Just got the sigma 16mm. What a game changer!
The 16mm is so fire!
Great video, I like what I saw about the Bright Star lenses. Manual lenses force me to think about what I'm viewing and the settings on my A6000 to get the best results.
Thanks for your A6000 videos. I am looking at getting one and your videos are helpful with deciding lenses and such for the camera.
Kyle, man, I'm glad you're making this kind of content. I'm new to the photography world, a6000 in hand, and its refreshing that I am discovering an older camera along with someone who is more knowledgeable. I like the Neweer btw, it has good bokeh for the price!
Welcome to the photo and Sony a6000 world! Lots to learn!
This is so good to hear!
Great video Kyle! Really dig the lenses in the video. Out of the three, I like the Neewer lens. It’s awesome to see creators like you because yes it’d be nice to have the most expensive equipment/gear. But in actuality it’s not always necessary. Keep up the great work.
Yeah I don’t buy a lot of gear because of that, so it was a treat to buy two of these and then get sent the other one. Love the experience with them!
Would love any of these lenses. they all look so great on the a6000 as well. Real retro look! Nice vid
Actually, that Brightin Star is so nice.
