I have seen and met this woman a few years ago when she was an opening act in a little club. She's a singer, writer, multi-instrumentalist with talent (all 6 letters of the word, not just the first two). She is not a dumb gyrating lip-synching sex robot, she is the REAL DEAL. And FTR, she is also a QT but make no mistake. This girl has TALENT and that's what matters here,

@@nametaiken The only reason I said that is because sad to say most female 'stars' today ARE noted for their looks. Where are the Spice Girls, Hillary Duff, Jessica Simpson and the like now? Even Madonna's star is fading. They were noted for their looks, and they flaunted it, having nothing artistic or creative to say. Make no mistake, there are terrific female artists and bands out there and they should be acknowledged. This past May I caught Heart live in concert for the second time. The Wilson sisters may have been 'head turners' when they started out in the 70s but they have long proven their merit and paid their dues. Ann Wilson can still belt the lyrics as good as she ever could, and she and Nancy play their instruments with skill. Sing, write, play, perform, NO LIP-SYNCHING and no autotune. That's all I ask from any performer because that's what matters in the long run. Heart never pushed the 'sexual appeal' angle, they are 💗. They are what they are, Women Who Rock. The same deal goes for Joan Jett, Shonen Knife (a Japanese lady punk trio), the Judds, Judith Owen, Fiona Apple, the late Sinead O'Connor, the late Aretha, the late Whitney, Annie Lennox, Sheryl Crow, the late Marie Fredrickson of Roxette, Bat for Lashes, Beth Orton, talented - all. Linday Sterling is one skilled violinist, and she already has a career set. She will always be in demand at least in session work. I mean she is that GOOD. She has a bright future ahead. I was disappointed with Adele's '30' CD but she certainly has talent and I still have hope for her. Video Killed the Radio Star. That goes for male and female performers. 'Good videogenic looks' has helped male bands like Duran Duran become megastars, but their ART and musical whit is what made them so huge, and their music is what matters the most. Either way, whether the performer is 'cute and sexy' or not, if I don't like what I hear then I won't patronize it. Period.
That's why I can't stand Shania Twain no matter how appealing she looks. IMHO her singing and music isn't worth a DAMN. And I don't like the 'whore' image either in a video. It's the MUSIC that counts and will in the end. I hope this clears things up for you. Angelica Garcia has the 'looks' but I've seen and met her, and she has what it takes to make it in the trade in the long run. She has put out 3 critically acclaimed CDs (I've heard them, they are good). In fact, I ordered a copy of her latest one yesterday from Bandcamp (we know most stores are too 'chicken' 🐓to stock music this good). This album is her BEST to date! This pandemic has resulted in many artists like Lenny Kravitz, Pearl Jam, etc. releasing some really good music written during the 'rockdown'. This may be long winded, thanks for reading this.
