Hi Mr Lin. I've been playing the Sax for many decades now- and let me just say that long tones are great. I've played with the incorrect embouchure for ever, I was pinching and biting my lower lip to the point I was in pain. So I've decided once and for all to correct my embouchure, so I've started practicing the embouchure -loose with more diaphragm air support and let me just say that I notice in about 3 weeks into my practice the improvement -it's a work in progress. , That's what I needed to do from the get go. I was taught incorrectly by my music teachers back them but that was the norm back them. So yes playing with a loose but supportive embouchure is the way to go and with more air support from diaphragm.-- I'm looking for that Sanborn and Brecker Sound. I know I'm asking for too much, those guys were and still are Geniuses in my book. So to conclude Thank you for the tip. Set up -- Yamaha tenor 61 and Yamaha alto 61 --Mouthpiece is a work in progress. again thanks
Simple concept, short and to the point. Thanks!
Good stuff for beginners like me, thank you!!!

Thanks
Excellent. Needed this
Nice one
You got new sub here. Thanks
Any thoughts on protecting your ears while doing long tones? For me all the options like inears and overearstuff seem to make me hear less tone and also I dont like the sound I get when my ears are "protected" I gues! I could play quieter, but sometimes you wanna use all the power to develop sound control.
Is there a Video on the Embouchure ?
If we start at high B... do we then practice all the way down to a low Bb or.... what low note do we stop at?
Start at the highest you can go and stop at the lowest you can go. I like starting at high c sharp and ending after going down 2 octaves.
Needed this too lol thanks@@LucasGordon-s5j
i’ve found that rolling your lip gives you more of a stan gets or even paul desmond kind of sound. it’s nice if you’re playing the style but it does sound odd when you try playing be-boo tunes 😂
A rolled bottom lip does mute the sound. An open, more relaxed bottom lip allows the reed to vibrate more in a positive way.
Do you go all the way down to low Bb? Thanks.
yeah!!!
Thanks man!
Nice simple, easy to follow , no guesswork
❤❤❤
OOOOO

No one can skip long tone lol
He needs to work on his sound 😱 perhaps he should play long tones 🙄🙄
