couldnt agree more. i had heard of this band before and never was into them but when i heard that drum part i was hooked immediately. i have heard that part over a million times now and i am still amazed by it.
@Perf3ctInzanity Wow man, thanks a lot dude. And thanks for commenting on the mixing because I'm starting up my own recording studio, so those are the kind of things I want to hear haha! That china most definitely is a beast! Thanks again and for the sub!
@NewYorkJets99 Hey dude, thanks! When it came to double kicks, I was quite a slow learner. I just practiced by playing to songs or with a metronome. Even if the song didn't have double bass in it I'd use it just to keep both sets of leg muscles working. To be honest, I'm not happy with my doubles, they could definitely be faster. There's tons of videos on here teaching double bass techniques, check some out. Good luck with yours.
@Musashix25 Thanks a lot dude. I hear ya about the "feeling". I do that with some covers because I'm concentrating on the song so much. Particularly with this one as I hardly knew it. I will take what you've said in to consideration though.
lol this is gonna bother me if I don't say it, but you might wanna add an extra cymbal pad on that meinl on your far right...it'll stop it from shaking so much, and could possibly make it last longer. it always bothered me when my 16" would shake like that, so that's what I did...and it still sounds the same, too, plus it doesn't cut into your sticks as much
@NewYorkJets99 I'm almost in the exact same position as you. I'm able to coordinate my hands and feet. I just can't get my feet to go as fast as I'd like. I don't have any particular tutorial video that I like. I just looked at loads and took all the information and put it together. You'll have to let me know if you ever get your technique sorted haha! Take it easy dude.
@smellvetica Cheers man. Always warm up before you play, never forget the basics & always practice your sticking/ rudiments with a metronome. Play along with different styles of music, even genres you don't normally prefer. Learn to play the same beats & patterns with both hands and feet. Exercise really helps all aspects of your drumming. Just get as much practice in as you can, even if it's just 10 minutes here and there. Listen to bands like Architects and Protest The Hero to move on from 4/4
@salemcripple Dude, don't put yourself down like that! Practice makes perfect. I'm still not happy with my level, learning and getting better at playing an instrument never stops
Nice one, although I'm not fully convinced by your charting : in the chorus, you should use the hi-hat, and some pedals are at the wrong place but anyways awesome :)
@Galbana85 Cheers. I haven't done As I Lay Dying, although I should because they're awesome! Click the drop down arrow above this video to check out what else I've covered. Thanks.
@MrPhillGD I do, 3 of them. Sound quality isn't as good as this, but good enough. I also did a cover of Machine Head's Imperium. Thanks for checking my videos out dude.
Thanks! I certainly did get it built. Check it out at w w w .a-tonalrecordingstudio. co . uk You can get to the Facebook/ Twitter page from there too ;)
Nice one. I've got a couple of special offers on at the moment at my studio and at another one I work at, (Arcadium Studios). I normally make special offers available through my Facebook 'Like' page if you head over to that. You can get to it from my RUclips channel.
@smellvetica (Comment 2 of 2) The list of advice is endless and nothing beats practice really. As for the timing side, you can always keep to 4/4 but change a hand or foot say to 3/4...that can really spice up your beats I find. Hope that all helps, just ask if you want any help or advice. Good luck mate.
it's drummers like you that make me look like a beginner....
great cover :)
