4:40 - Seeing the "Keystone" mags brought back some old memories. I used to to work for the company that made them in Richmond BC Canada. It was called EBCO and myself and a high-school friend, Paul Diotte (RIP), worked the chrome line. I can still remember walking the slippery 1X6 wooden boards between the caustic soda tanks fishing out items that had fallen in. Thank God I never went for a swim :)
I would go to many east coast meets to watch Ronnie Sox. He was such a nice guy. Very quiet. Would always take a minute to talk. We lost him to cancer I think it was 2006.It was a very sad time for drag racing......... When he got behind the wheel to drive, you could see it in his face. ALL BUSINESS. He was a master at reaction time and when he went down the track ,you would SWEAR that his car had an automatic transmission. He was that fast at ripping gears.........God bless Mr. Four Speed.
I love the classic mopars of the late 60s and early 70s. Can't wait to get my 69 road runner back to its street fighting looks it had back in the 70s. 👍👍😎✌✌
Awesome story. Love it. I have one story I have to tell it one day on paper. I remember seeing this car. Run back in the day. Awesome color with the white & seafoam lime green. Beautiful car. Thank you for the great work putting this story together. We need more of this . Get these kids off the street drugs & video games and using their minds. God bless y'all. Thank you. SemperFI:;;;: Todd
Hey Tommy, Don't Allow yourself to be around TOO MUCH of this cool old Mopar stuff... These brief encounters could become life changing events for you! Enjoyed this newest video of yours MUCH! Thanks again, Frank Parks at Mopar Restos. AKA the Hot Rod Hoarder#33.
I raced both a 71 Demon 340 and 71 Duster 340 in Super Stock in the 70's! Those were great days! Watching the Pro Stock cars back then was fantastic! Mopars ruled!
Thanks for posting this video. To see a Sox and Martin Pro Stock car brought back from oblivion was a "Wow" moment for car guys/girls. I never thought the Motown Missile was alive and well. Pro Stock cars were always fun to watch. Thanks again!
Thanks for bringing this story to us, brings back many memories, I remember a guy here in Pontiac Michigan had a 70-71 Demon that was built by Ramchargers, this was back when we would block traffic on I-75, run a race, then let traffic resume, we would trailer the cars to the weigh scales, unload, race, truck & trailer follow the car, load back up, get the heck out of there, this was usually done in the middle of the night...those were the days...the late 1970's early 80's were my heyday, still heavy into it now, we have so much $$$$ in our 65 mustang we could have bought a decent house...but there is other addictions that are definitely more harmful...keep these awesome video's coming
You Tennessee boys do it right. Thanks for a heart warming story about love and respect by a grandson. I am a life long Mopar fan who enjoyed watching your video
I actually saw this car race in 71 at a east Tenn track. If memory serves me correctly Sox and Martin were there also. Great video. Thanks for the memories.
Oh my that was so cool to see my senior year in high school I had a 1971 Dodge Demon Sizzler it was awesome these new cars they may be quicker and faster but they don't have the heart of the 60s and 70s muscle cars
Thanks for the history of this car,for me half of any car is the story. Thanks for sharing. And by the way....who in the heck has a 426 hemi in a crate....the story of that is amazing.
I wish I had more information on Freeman Crowder's parts collection...sounds like it was pretty epic. He had some big time stuff sitting around. I would've loved to see this car and the Motown Missle sitting together.
Friends and I built a similar duster in high school because I live where this car came from, kingston and harriman tn and knew about it from people at the tracks.Sadly we didn't have a hemi for ours,we ran a 383,built by us,but we never raced it.My buddy races it now and does well with it.brought back a lot of old high school memories, thanks for making this video.
Hey good job with all the videos and great job bring them back the history of these cars my dad used to race on the dirt tracks back in the day I was really young when you got rid of the car I don't know much history about it but I'll get a picture and show you on here but keep up the good work bringing back the history of race cars and stock cars and whatnot appreciate you bringing all this back and showing the history and all these cars
Thank you for bringing this story to my attention. I live in Tennessee now (since 2000)and have never heard of this car before. It’s awesome that the grandson was able to find and restore it. I especially like the original door skin showing some of the history of the car’s different names.
Beautiful! My first “cool” car was a 71 Demon 340 4 speed 4.10 geared yellow/black striped gem. Ran it into the ground but had a blast doin it. Wish I had it back. 💔
Great car, with great history. Glad someone in the family was able to purchase, and restore this car. Love the Keystone Klassic rims!!! I had them on my Nova back in the day.
What a great story. The grandson not only finding it, But having the means to restore it too 👍 Seeing the car brought back a ton of memories as I'm pretty sure that I have seen it in Florida in the 80s-90s.... Great content HRH !!!
Nice story! Man, there is just no better sound than a high compression free revving big block! I remember arriving at the drag strip as a teenager, and when these cars fired up to put some heat into them, you knew you had arrived and these things were all business! Makes the hair on your neck stand up!
What a great story, great car, great history. Theres something about these old drag cars that take your imagination to the moon. Ex Sox & Martin drag car! Incredible. Thanks for this story, I love it. 👍
God I love what you do. Thank you so much for all your efforts to bring this back to life fo all of us! Have a great new year. And I will keep watching the channel
Yessir awesome story, great car ! The history and nostalgia are what keeps old race cars alive ! And a Sox&Martin car ,very cool ! Keep up the great work telling the stories and keeping history alive !!
After seeing this video, I remembered this story my dad use to tell me about when he was alive. It was about an old dragway in Kentucky years ago that was located in Manchester ky. He always mentioned Phil roar’s roaring hemi running a 6 cylinder dart and how much he had to “spot” him. I’ve found very little info on the car but I was curious if you had any. Thank you I enjoy the videos and I know my dad would too if he was still here
very cool a friend of mine own's the original Shirley and HL Shahan Drag On Lady 68 Dodge Dart factory Hemi Race Car and every time i am around it i get goose bumps knowing the history of the car
Man at the begining of the video hearing that mopar sing as he runs her thru the gears is awesome......can only imagine the sound from the driver seat.....the sound of angels........there was also a dodge car pulling truck in the 80s named Tennessee thunder also
Absolutely beautiful car... My uncle was a huge mopar fan himself and drag raced a lot of his cars.. seeing one brought back to life is absolutely wonderful... love the video..
One of if not my favorite car. As a kid that grew up around drag racing. These cars were dust collectors in garages when I was a kid. I’ve sat in some serious cars and pretended to bang gears down the imaginary quarter mile. I’m modeling my own 71 demon after this car. My favorite cars are from the 70-72 prostockers

Fantastic story and video segment. Good editing job. Wish I could get him down to Florida for our Florida Dragstrip Riot event, October 30th. As a teenager, my friend’s and I used to hang around a little one car garage, on the east side of Cleveland, that an older guy had a Hemi Duster Drag Car. Circa 1978? He even took us to the Drags a few times. Fond memories 😎👍❤️🏆🏁
That's an awesome car . I'm from a Southwest Virginia just 20 minutes from Bristol Motor Speedway⚡Thunder Valley Dragway . I never heard of this car but I was born in 75 so it was the early 1980's before I went to my first drag race . I think 82 or 83 but from then on I was hooked . This is a great story & I'm sharing it with my son now .

p.s. I was always a cragar S/S guy, but there were three badass rims on the street that made your car look sick. cragar s/s, keystone classics, and my personal favorite, the five hole slot. special mention to: old halibrands, keystone raiders, and the early weld style wheel. 😝
This is the kinda stuff we need to keep in the right hands so the next generation can enjoy and see how it was so done back in the day
I would give anything to have them days come back

Oh wow! Chrome production lines and plating shops always seem to have some sketchy materials floating around.
Are those spacers for the lugs? Running how fast??
I was 18 at the time of the Hemi dominated Pro Stock classes. Watching this video makes this 67 year old teenager very happy. Thank you !!
Sox & Martin car...knew it would be a 4 speed like Ronnie Sox would drive. That's a nice dose of MOPAR!!! Thank-you!
Oh yeah Sox & Martin were 4 speed dudes for sure!

I believe my friend Rodney hargis that drag races his slant 6 knows a lot about this car and the people that owned it
So cool , i had a 71 demon 340 4 speed straight out of high school in 1982👍 Mopar or no car
Great story, we had John Livingston as our Grand Marshal at the Southeast Gasser event in Knoxville Tennessee a few years ago.
~Quain Stott~
Have you all figured out next year schedule hope to see y'all in April at Shadyside
Thanks Quain, John is definitely a local legend!
Where’s the car scene here in Knoxville just moved here and can’t find it?
@@ryandavis930 we almost have it done.
@@HotRodHoarder I bought fiberglass parts from him and Gerald back in the early 1980's. We go way back.

Oh wow a '69 Road Runner is dream car material! Good luck with the project!
I had a '71 Dodge Demon, 383 4 speed dual quad 750 dual feed. That car was fast 😳!
Love this story. And the sound of a mopar is just music.
Now that is a badass car. Takes me back. This is one of those cars you found In a Revelle Model box with all the stickers.
It's one of those cars that you can feel it before you can hear it, and you can hear it before you see it. Awesome!
Back when race cars were REAL cars. Unlike today where its all fiberglass. Cool history! Thanks for sharing!😎
